  4. Sounds very dodgey indeed. I met up with all potential buyers at thier houses (happened to be a mutually convenient location) when I was selling my car. If they are concerned about knowing your address tell them you are happy to give it to them if they purchase the car (it's on the rego transfer anyway).
  5. Very curious... How much protection does a "3 point immobiliser" give? What factors influence how "good" an security system is? I regularly see Viper, Cobra, Mongoose (and other animals) alarms advertised... Surely with them being so readily available, theives can work out how to bypass them pretty easily (i.e. look at instalation guide)... Is this the case? Would appreciate comments installers/ those with technical knowledge of these systems. Cheers. Col.
  6. 3 Point immobiliser is essential. IMHO, don't bother with the extra features offered with alarms... In my experience they just end up being massive headaches (poor quality sensors result in cr4p performance and false alarms/angryness)... As long as the alarm goes off with entry or large shock I'd be happy. I personally wouldn't even consider a remote start option... Added cost for decreased security? In terms of where to get alarms: I would suggest to avoid car toys (I have only had bad and very bad experiences with them... and the alarm was very substandard and expensive)

  9. Reccomendation: Any jap brand rim... IMHO, the new wheels sold from most mag/tyre places in Adelaide/Aust are very poor quality and they just look out of place (excluding the ROH multipiece wheels... Those are sweet). A fair few of the traders on here/NS.com here sell secondhand jap brand wheels with decent quality rubber on them for about the $2K mark. This way you get good looking, good offset rims with good tyres. Jap rims also hold their value far better. Just my 2c.
  10. Why not just leave the body standard. A good ride height combined with good offset jap wheels is enough to make a 34 very nice (just my opinion). Minus the rear spoiler maybe. Think about the positives: #Dont have to deal with a panel beater (even the good ones are a hastle and will need to keep the car for ages) #"Less" cop attention #Much cheaper #Can spend money on other stuff #Dont have to deal with a panel beater IMHO Body kits look great but why bother to try to improve the look of a car that looks good (and reasonably unique) already...
  11. Hsw.com is not really helpful in my case, bit too general. I'm fishing for very specific explanations. Cheers anyway though.
  12. Hey all, I've recently done a practical investigating the variation of performance parameters of a simple single cylinder 4-stroke engine at varying engine speeds and have a few questions that I can't fully explain. What are the implications of a high or low "Volumetric Efficiency"? What would cause a reduction in or increase in "Volumetric Efficiency"? What causes "Brake Thermal Efficiency" to decrease at high and low engine speeds? What are the implications of a high or low "Equivalence ratio"? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Col.
  13. Hey all, I've done a search but couldn't find the specific info I was after.... I need to buy new heater hoses for 32 rb20det. I've rang nissan and got their prices which aren't terrible but I was wondering if there were any other places that sell import hoses. If there are other places please post where and how much. I need all three. Big cheers.
  14. Your idle issue would most likely be from the i/c but if it's only 100rpm it shouldn't be a problem (IMO)... As for performance gains... I 'felt' like boost came on a little harder when i put a fmic on... Realistically I was probly just expecting/anticipating it would but there probly was no noticible change. A SMALL gain should result though. However i don't see how lag would increase... The stock cooler/pipes are like 2min noodles (ie restrictive) so a quality fmic shouldn't increase throttle lag... if anything i think it should be equal or better... Might be wrong... Just a thought
