  1. got diagrams but not sure if they are posting
  2. nah what my phys teach told me was correct. It has to be a decrease in contact area of tyre as perpendicular forces do not directly affect each other i.e. decrease in lateral traction is not directly related to wheel spin speed. The only change as a result of increased spin speed that could affect the lateral traction is a change in contact area of tyre. If ne1 knows this is wrong please post, cheers
  3. spoke to my phys teacher. he thinks that the reciprocal to the downward (well on an angle) force exerted by the tyre to the ground causes an elevation and hence reduces contact area of tyre so lateral friction is reduced. (as surface area is a dirctly proportional quantity in the coefficient of friction)
  4. How much does car insurance set u bak in japan? Nowhere near as much as OZ I hope.
  5. deano_82 If there was an award for tuff avatars, yours would win it. Gojira Those links are pretty good but... I need to know why a wheel spinning at 120kph(wheel rotation speed, not car speed) has less lateral traction than a wheel spinning at 90kph. eg; When you initiate a drift... if you apply 100% throttle the tail will hang more than if you apply 75% throttle. Why is lateral friction reduced with an increase in wheel rotation speed? I cant get away with saying "The faster it spins the less traction" (this is what i have already). I need to know why a faster spinning wheel has less lateral traction.... I have a stong hunch it has something to do with reduced contact surface of tyre or similar...
  6. I didn't write the Q very clearly b4, sorry... I understand how and why they break traction. I need to know why a wheel spinning at 120kph(wheel rotation speed, not car speed) has less lateral traction than a wheel spinning at 90kph. eg; When you initiate a drift... if you apply 100% throttle the tail will hang more than if you apply 75% throttle. 7. Ok, so ur in a drift..... Why is it that when your rear wheels are spinning faster they have less traction (ie; increase throttle = decrease traction)? What is the scientific explanation? I guess that having ur wheels spinning faster decreases a quantity of the co-efficient of friction and hence reduces traction but what quantity? Maybe contact area of tyre decreases... This is for a physics assignment by the way. Thanks in advance for any help. Col

  9. MADGT4 ... Would've been about middayish. Is that ur car?
  10. When i was 15 i stayed in a country town south of Nagoya on the atsumi peninsula for a year long exchange. All in all it was a good experience but damn they can be pretty rascist and kunty sometimes. I'm a say what you mean type of bloke so all their beat around the bush ways of asking and talking about things really shi@@ed me off. you really have to have your "gaman" powers up at all times aye. Bein at school over there i tried my best to pimp it with the schoolgirls + girls in general and had decent sucsess so it all evened out in the end. Just turn off your "give a sh!t sensors" and japan is a good place 2 be. stayed in osaka for 2 weeks which was much more freindly but had 2 wake up at 5 every morning and cram into those f@cking sardine can trains to get to school. a wise gaijin once said... "you know u've been in japan too long when it seems normal"
  11. cost me $180 for a new rack (+fitting) 4 my 32. haven't heard nething bout the 34 rack fitting but it seems doubtful that it would. if ne1 one else has heard of this i would be interested to hear
  12. Saw a fit lookin kitted (bomex kit i think) green r32 goin toward town at mile end autobarn. Not too keen on the green but neone know if this car has a worked engine?
  13. tats not for the gtr, my build date says 09/94
  14. I just put a trust cooler kit on my 32 running a standard turbs and it hits boost way quicker and seems to go a bit harder. The boost hasn't been changed by any other means so it makes sense that the stock intercooler is very restrictive. Also the stock piping is like 2 minute noodles!
  15. I guess im a new member so i better introduce myself... I drive a black 32 2dr with 3inch dump, momo cat back, FMIC, boost controller + more to come... I've been driving round without a front bar for nearly 2 months now so ya might have seen me about. Keen to go on a cruise when I get my car sorted. Cheers
  16. not for sale nemore
  17. How much are you allowed to cut ur front bar? Btw I've been told to be wary of em but i cant get 3rd party newhere else.
  18. Rang up j/c insurance today checking if it was ok to cut out my front bar for a fmic and they said... "we will cover anything as long as its legal"... which got me thinkin... Does that mean that if i crash and make a claim it will void my cover for having a BOV, turbo timer, boost controller etc...? which i have told them i have on my car. Any1 know the deal with this? ps. is it legal to cut ur front bar? i got a 32 type m bar and wanna cut it up to level with where the liscence plate finishes and move the plate down to 1 side.
  19. If you look on the back wall it says "we have moved" in spray paint.
