  1. lol 434kw atw stock
  2. yeah both holden and ford really need to start exporting. How can you compete against audi, bmw, merc when they release the same car worldwide. Payback on investment much better on a global car. We only have australian investment funding engine & shell for Ford
  3. yeah true, thing is though, toyota, ford & holden all share the same parts suppliers in Australia. When one car manufacturer takes a hit, the parts suppliers take a hit which then affects the other 2 car manufacturers. Toyota provides support to ford & holden knowing that if ford/holden die, then toyota will be in pain...
  4. I think Leigh's supercharged v8 is a decent car. In order for car companies to survive you need to pump out generic camrys cars and none of us want that...
  5. sad to hear Ford cutting jobs today Local manufacturing aint getting any stronger in this country...
  6. haha

  11. claim it through work.
  12. unfortunately, thats all the time we have for SAUTAXTALK. Stay tuned for next episode where we find out how much Dezz actually gets back Sleep time, ive got chocolate bars to worry about tomorrow!
  13. unfortunately that means you can claim to a maximum of $3700, doesnt mean you will get $3700 always. For example; you had $6000 worth of expenses and didnt have a log book. $6000 x 0.74 = $4,440 claim HOWEVER $3700 is the max, so they will give you $3700 instead of $4440. If you had logbook @ 92% $6000 x 0.92 = $5520 claim, which you get back all as there is no cap with logbook. as long as the fuel consumption for 600+km is reasonable, dont believe there is any cap.
  14. haha pays to have accountants in the family /seewhatididther Unfortunately, my accounting knowledge stops with the above and a bit of negative gearing knowledge. Wont be much help as a grad accountant haha Ive probably said too much now, will be getting hassled by all the wastelanders now haha
  15. if you dont have fuel receipts, you can estimate how much you paid based on the total km's traveled for the year.
  16. Lets say Rego/tyres/maint: $1500 with logbook 1500 x 0.92 = $1380 back without logbook 1500 x 0.74 = $1110 back Logbook got you an extra $270
  17. fuel: $50 * 52weeks = $2600 Insur: $500 Rego/tyres/maint: $1500 Total: $4600 With Logbook: 4600 x 0.92 = $4232 back Without logbook 4600 x 0.74 = $3404 ; maximum claim is $3700, so 3404 less than 3700, so you get all of $3404 back.
  18. sum up all fuel for financial year sum up all rego / insurance / maintenence fo the year Total all * 0.92 = your claim if you have no log book, you will multiply everything by 0.74 instead and only have a maximum claim of $3700. (even if all your expenses * 0.74 is greater than $3700, you can only get back $3700)
  19. you can pick any 12 weeks in the financial year to calculate your business usage % so long as you have it documented (which you have) That 92% will be applicable for the next 5 financial years, so you will not need to logbook after this year.
  20. sum(all car expenses for financial year) * 0.92 = what you get back Logbook is used to prove 92%
  21. so the logbook is used to work out your business:personal usage of kilometres. Then once you have that calculated, it is multiplied to all your expenses during that financial year. No log book means you can only claim back a maximum of $3700.
  22. lol well it is the ATO gov website. The question is if you have calculated your deductions correctly. Im told that if you traveled 7000km for work out of 10,000km total driven. That equals 70% work use of total kilometres So sum up all your car expenses (fuel, insur etc) and multiply that by 70%, thats what you can claim back. Now, you can go with no log book and claim 74% but only to a maximum of 5000km so 5000km * 0.74 = $3700 maximum claim however your 10,000km cost you $6k of expenses, multiply by 0.7 = $4200 claim Hope that clears it up? edit: re-read made a change
  23. http://calculators.a...x2012.xr4&go=ok Take your income from your PAYG slips deduct expenses yes - Tax credits etc, medicare, flood levy, hecs/help Total credits from payment summaries, for example, total tax withheld - enter tax withheld. Will say what you will get as return.
