  1. haha where is that suzuki video with the drag bar. My engine hasnt blown yet so this is still all talk
  2. Sure rb25 is the easy option, but if you havent noticed by now, i prefer to go against the norm and learn by doing (Toyota principle #12). Its when you explore uncertainties that you understand why it has/hasnt been done that way. My goal isnt to have maximum killerwasps, its to explore why/how modifications improve the car. HP gain is minimal when removing the clutch fan, but as you can see from the video, there is no problem with heat dissipation if you have a proper shroud/thermo setup. Many silvia/gtr trackcars have thermofan setups and have never heard them complaining about heat issues. Im not talking about slapping on thermo fans to the face of the radiator, that will achieve very bad results as its not pulling air through the whole face but only the section it is mounted on. Im not against the engine fan, but thermo fans are equal if not better in some aspects than engine fan Thermofans were purchased after trying to fit engine fan. Didnt want to cut up the fan/shroud as that will lose cooling ability, so thermofans were explored. Rb22/23/24 are made up of gtr crankshaft, gtr pistons or 4agze pistons and machine work. A much more interesting project than dropping in a rb25. If i wanted one, i would have got a r33.
  3. haha the engine has been good to me. Its just everything else which has had hiccups. If engine blows, might look into a rb22 for the lols. Thermofans is nothing ground breaking. All new cars have thermos, just replacing old technology with new
  4. Cant edit previous post; thermofans ftw
  5. the foglight button would turn on the foggies and the parkers, but i think law means that when you switch to headlights the foglights will then turn on. Some crappy outdated law. I wonder if there is a law for the white LED strips under all the headlights
  6. I have a button on top of the dash. Near the rear window demister for the foglights
  7. All foglights are illegal regardless of colour, pretty lame. Unless they turn on with the headlights then they are legal, but if there is a separate switch then they are classified as foglights
  8. dunno bored i guess proper shrouded thermo fans > engine fan
  9. So the bank provided a loan with just a 10% deposit of the house? (assuming $400k~) I thought banks would need some security other than the deposit because once thats spent on the purchase what can the bank take if the person loses their job etc? Genuine question because I am in the same boat and I have a feeling I will need to use parents' house as security to get a loan approved.. Interested to hear.

  12. Low profile thermofan setup - $400 check Thermo Fan Controller - $200 check Hopefully get my car up and running by end of the week

  16. How did they get loans from the bank with no security? Im guessing another factor played in the story whereby the parents house/investment property came as a the security for the loans? Cause banks arent too keen to hand out loans to kids with only a car under their belts...
  17. Thermo fan is pointless without a proper shroud. Search for AU Thermo fans in google and/or SAU. Best bang for buck for a good thermo fan/shroud setup if you have the space.
  18. tsk tsk Shan losing your edge Should have been able to point out the gtr skirts! They cant fit on gtst's due to the flared rear guards The white writing looks pretty neat though.

  21. lol that was a nice call.
  22. all driver training companies strongly recommend to drive 40psi (yes even for your daily) The more pressure allows the tread patterns to open up which helps when driving in wet. Also there is less flex in the sidewall which reduces heat and wear on the walls. It also provides more control as the tyre isnt rolling over itself when you make a turn. Old cars used to have 30psi due to a lower pressure provided a more comfortable ride. If you look at the new holdens/fords ive been told they will recommend 38psi due to advancement in suspension to provide a softer ride. 38psi-40psi is the recommended tyre pressure. /source: Driver Dynamics
