yes sorry about that, got mixed up haha. The exhaust gasket between the dump/turbo was reused. Im running standard boost 10psi and always have. Just full exhaust and smic thats it. Cheers all for the comments, ill replace both gaskets on the front/dump and see if that reduces the sound. Thanks

the R32 came in two series/models 1989 - 1991 = Series 1 r32 1991 - 1993 = Series 2 r32 Series 1 was lighter and near the 160kw mark Series 2 came with side intrusion bars, bit heavier and less power around the 158kw mark (not to mention different interior, steering wheel, front bar, full yellow indicators as opposed to semi clear etc etc)

Hey, Got a Batmbl front/dump + hiflow cat installed into my car. After getting it installed, i noticed that I can now hear a high pitched turbo spool sound which wasnt heard before on the stock exhaust. Also it seems less responsive in the lower revs... Would this be due to a leaking gasket by any chance? The compressor turbo gasket was re-used (was in good condition) and the cat had to be unbolted right after a quick test drive to re-adjust the exhaust. A leaking gasket could explain the loss of backpressure resulting in less response in low revs... Cheers Patrick

the series 2's came from factory with side intrusion bars. This would have increased the weight easily up to 1280kg KERB Weight. It didnt click in my mind to question them as I was being harassed by 2 TMU's lol. He told me to get in contact with Vicroads who can ask DOTARS for the exact weight and power calculation. If i told him the power was 157 (1kw less than my estimate of 158) it would have been under the 125kw/tonne law hehe. And no doubt the engine would have lost 1kw in the 15yrs its been around

TMU asked me for the power estimate of the car. Using their database value KERB WEIGHT (weight is displayed when they bring up your rego details, TMU showed me on screen), the R32 is 1250kg. Using my estimate of 158kw flywheel, this makes the r32 126.4kw/tonne Thus making it illegal as its over the 125kw/tonne law. However, the series 2 r32's has more weight, but im not sure if this is reflected in their database...

hehe i was trying to imply that r32 gtsts are also inline 6cyl turbo and not 4cylinders

yes it is very hard Regards: P-plater with turbo (although im under the p:w law where the r32 is in a grey area) When i got pulled over by knox tmu, he asked me for the factory kw output and the weight of the car. He then used those numbers to determine if it was over the p:w limit. So no doubt he would be checking licenses to see if you are a new p-plater on the no turbo ban. so thats why my r32 is slow, its cause it has 4cylinders

haha yeah ive spent so much time trying to fix this problem; - Several wheel balances and alignments - camber, castor, subframe, power steering bushes - replaced whole steering rack - More wheel balances and alignments - balanced tailshaft - Replaced tyres/rims - Balanced them too Only step left is to rebalance clutch/flywheel or get a replacement through warranty...

Well decided to swap my rims with another set of r33 stock rims with new tyres. Got all 4 wheels balanced too. Vibration still there at 100km/h+ Next step is to have the clutch removed and rebalanced...hopefully this will finally solve the vibration ~_~

I currently have r33 gtst stockies on my r32. It looks fkn horrible. How could they make such ugly rims.

r33 gtr rims are 9inch wide +30 offset. They will more or less line up with the guards on a r32 gtst. If your car will be lowered, you will most likely need to roll the guard lips. No spacers are required. I currently have 8inch +30 rims and have had trouble of scrubbing on the front. Im sure if i put 9inch on the front id have more issues. Although that could come down to my damper/spring rates of my suspension. Picture ive found on the net;

Hey, Seeing as GTT34's PM box is full, does anyone have any good pictures of his car? Im after a 45degree front-side view of his car displaying his recustoms shtickers.
