  1. sell it to some hyundai owners, probably better quality than what they use
  2. i just bought an ac compressor from this forum, but didnt know there were two different models! I have a 1993 r32 gtst and i just bought a zexel compressor... Will this work or do i need the calsonic? Thanks
  3. sorry to hijack this thread? researching some keywords being thrown around. We have UTRAK (http://www.utrak.com.au/) - QLD? and Extreme Tracking (http://www.et-tracking.com.au/) - Perth? Both offer gps/sms function on your current alarm. Then there are the Rhino GSM unit and mongoose gsm unit. What is the cheapest gps/gsm sender on the market? If this will be bundled with a good alarm, for example; mongoose M80, i doubt the quality of the gps/gsm unit will be a major factor in prevention as its only a method of sending a warning. Ive seen similar gsm/gps units going for $1000 and was wondering if the above two are cheaper? or there is an alternative brand. Thanks
  4. i have the same problem, why is this sound happening for?
  5. red looks nice
  6. haha, i thought the mesh was the reason i couldnt see out the window. Im pretty sure it was the residue on the outside of the window -.-
  7. an update for anyone who have same problem. Took car to a detailer, who used a strong thinner, which basically removes any glue residue. Didnt seem to come off He thinks its either acid rain or salt from sitting on the docs which is embedded into the glass. Told me it would need to be taken to a glass cutter. Same advice from the tint shop next door.
  8. my door rattles when the window is down. Would new door hinges fix the prob? Thanks - Patrick
  9. Took car back to workshop, get knocking on idling. Workshop thinks it could be injectors or coilpacks. They checked coilpacks and found some slight marks but using their experience agreed that they are in good condition. Will be swapping coils with a friend and see result then.
  10. pizzahut ftw!
  11. no shaking whilst driving. When i come to a stop there is no shaking and then it starts then stops, starts etc
  12. what about the pod being heatsoaked? the car isnt shaking all the time. You can feel it kicking. Dont know how to explain Ill show some people at the sau meet today, they could explain it better haha
  13. Urf When i purchased my car, i took it to recustoms to give it a nice big service, all oils changed, o2 sensor checked, oil pressure etc etc Dyno read 127.1kw Then 1 month later, i noticed my car kept missfiring on high rpm's, especially in cold nights. Also had an idle where you could feel the car shake - stop - shake. my rpm needle stayed steady but could be old dodgy readout. So booked car back into re customs. Here is the result recustoms changed sparkies gapped at 0.8mm and adjusted crank angle sensor to smoothen power curve. Now the vibrating is worse, although its a hot day + black car and ecu has not been reset? I asked recustoms to check coilpacks for cracks etc, however Ray was out and couldnt get a chance to speak to him. Any idea's on wtf is wrong? - Patrick
  14. ive seen r33's averaging around the 160psi mark. Two r32's i had tested were around the 145psi~ Make it clear that deposit will be refunded if any (minor/major) mechanical/structural damage will be found. The mechanic should tell you condition of engine after compression AND leakdown test.
  15. i think i can make it
  16. haha saw this commercial on tv not long ago. I was struggeling to understand, like most honda commercials, what they are actually trying to sell
  17. Was planning to buy the gunmetal r32 gtst with gtr kit from powerroad (i bet its still sitting there). If you are planning to get a car from him, first check all the paperwork of the car. Kept telling me it was a 1993 when it was a 1992 and then told me they stopped making r32's in Dec 1992. I was basically just about to hand over deposit but re-considered. He didnt seem to lower price when i left so it may be hard to get the price down IF you still want that car. My advice is to take the car to an import workshop to do a pre-inspection ($100), then take to a panel beater to spot any resprays/fixes and maybe an AirCon workshop for a quick analysis. The more faults you find with the car, the easier it will be to run away or lower the price edit: also, from the other import dealers i went around, powerroad is the only one which charges extra for warranty.
  18. My compressor is dead in my r32 gtst and went to a few ac workshops. Some quoted $400~ to rebuild the dead compressor, or you can search the forum/wreckers for 2nd hand compressors. Contact some import wreckers if they have any in stock See them floating around the forum for around $150~ Hope this helps - Patrick

    No Local Meets...

  20. Hey, just something to raise an issue about. What ive noticed is that victoria seems to be lacking small local meets. The big events are nice but some small meetup's should be organised around suburbs. Ive been tagging along with my friend in his ozhonda club and they manage to have local meets nearly every week. Some they have had are; late night carwashes, residential photoshoots (most shopping centres are happy for photoshoots ie. waverly gardens and monash uni) and just got back from a small meet/dinner at pancake palour at Glen Waverly From my short time in the vic member section, sauvic seems to focus more around the large/major meets and it seems to lack the localness to it. Im only saying this as i can only seem to find Westies and no east members floating around the board Maybe once uni holidays start more local events may pop up, if not, i guess ill have to organise some. Btw im located in Ferntree Gully area, so if any other vic member is around and interested in some form of meet up, post here so we can get the ball rolling - Patrick

    Lucky Bastards

Youtube wasnt making any profits, stated the news and owners, but now google will probably spam it with ads to make up for the money spent

Is it me? or is google just buying out everything instead of trying? Their video site failed, so why not buy out Youtube. Same goes for blogger, online word processor and maps. Now with gmail and their upcoming OS, they just seem to be another microsoft in the growing. If you cant beat them, buy them out
  23. I connected them to a spare headunit i had lying around and tested them out but dont know how they would compare to the pioneer 6's for sale. If the speakers i listed above are a cheap company i may as well look into some pioneer's instead of customising the car to hold them. (these speakers have 3 screw holes, car has 4 )
  24. Managed to score some free speakers off a friend but dont know if i should bother with them My stock r32 rear speakers never had any sound through them, so assumed they were both dead. Pulling them out and testing them, one appears to have the cone cracked which causes a cracking noise when audio played. Guessing the previous owner just disconnected rear speakers via headunit to stop the noise.. On the magnet they state: Ferris 3-way speaker 15W (Nom.) 30W(Max.) Model F 525 Made in Japan You can easily see the difference between them hehe Should i bother with these Ferris? as a temp or perm solution? Thanks
  25. nothing wrong with the r31's and from what ive read amongst these forums quite a good car especially for your first. Cant forget those r31 gts-x's from japan
