  1. Hello After alot of research and opinions from others, I have decided not to get a skyline as a first car, this is because: 1) a decent one costs $14,000+ 2) Trouble from Police 3) insurance too high So my only decision is a nice local car to drive for 3+ years. After browsing the market i stumbled upon a ford car called 'Probe'. I found a yr1997 ford probe for $7,000AUD. Insurance for the car is $1000 a year for full comp. My question is does anyone know about the ford probe? Are they a good car for a 1st car. Also if you have any suggestions for a decent first car ranging $5000~ in price and is yr 1995+. I have attached a couple of pics how the ford probe looks like. Thanks for your help - Patrick
  2. i saw a 1988 ford with printed out performance stickers glued to the side of the car, and also had some word printed out on paper and glued to the car window. It also had two NOS stickers on the back of the car....
  3. Hello I have found a R33 GTS-T 40th Anniv and a R33 GTS-T M-Spec S2 for the same price. What is the difference between these two models? Is the M-Spec r33 more powerful? and which one would be better to get. (Sorry if these questions have been posted before.) Thanks for your help
  4. I had the nes robot it also came with some spinning disk? I could never work the robot. If you know how to work it i might pull it out of the closet and give it a try
  5. Hello During my short time at this forum i have seen many threads about people asking if skylines should be their first car. Many forum users state to use the search function. When searching for 'Skyline as first car'. The results are: Maybe a section in the FAQ should be created to place all the most popular threads about skyline as a first car. This could help many new users and stop the same question appearing in the forums. Thanks - Patrick
  6. Hello What sideskirts are these on the skyline? http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...ck/img/4519.jpg Thanks :headspin:

  14. An owner of a gun has a choice of: (a) shoot any living animal he sees for fun (B) Go to shooting ranges This can be compared to an owner of a skyline: (a) Speed and do idiotic things (B) Obey the law and only speed in controlled areas (Drag strip) As cars and guns vary, it doesnt mean that the owner must push it to the max. In my opinion an idiot with a pistol would be more dangerous than a police man with a rifle. The maximum output of the car/weapon could influence people to do stupid things but if the owner is mature he/she will know its not worth it. In the end I think it all comes down to the matuarity of the owner not the power under your foot. - Patrick
  15. Thankyou for all your replies. As the issue about owning a skyline as a first car has many pros and cons I think it will be safe to wait until i get my P's. By then i should be aware of my limitations in driving a car and if I am ready to drive a skyline. Thankyou once again for your help. - Patrick
  16. Thankyou for your honest replies. The reason I am keen on getting a skyline instead of some 1970 car is that it could cause me alot of hassles. As I will be driving to work and university i wouldnt want to be delayed due to the 1970 car not starting up. Just to make things clear I wouldnt have purchased a skyline until I was on my P's (18yrs old) as driving a powerful car on L's is risky. Has anyone purchased a skyline while on their P's? Or should the skyline wait after the P permit? Thankyou for all your help. Regards Patrick
  17. When I turn 18 I will have enough money to purchase a skyline however the transition from my learner car to the skyline could be too much to handle. I will be mainly learning on a Hyndai Getz which I doubt will give me enough experience to control a skyline. Or is it quite easy to operate a skyline? Thankyou - Patrick
  18. Thankyou for the comments. The cars i have access to at the moment are all automatic. I was wondering would it be possible to learn on Automatic during the Learners stage and three-four months prior to the P exam switch to a manual driver instructor? With the skill obtained from driving an automatic would it make learning Manual easier? Or do you need constant practice on manual? Thankyou - Patrick
  19. thankyou for the quick responses. From the responses so far, I think it will be more cost effective to wait until I am 21 to purchase my first skyline. Until then looks like i will be stuck with my parents car. By then I might have enough money to purchase a r33 gtr. How much does a stock/lightly modded r33 GTR cost? Thankyou - Patrick
  20. A new car worth $15,000 - $20,000. Well if I purchase a skyline from this forum I presume that everyone treats their car as their own child Would a well maintained skyline purchased from this forum work as good as a cheap new car? As skylines are second-hand the car parts would have been used however will it still be as durable as a cheap new car? I heard Nissan makes quality parts have longer life span? - Patrick
  21. Does a second-hand skyline r33 operate as good as a cheap new car? Thankyou for your replies.
  22. Hello Forum Readers I am interested in purchasing a 1997 r33 gtst in 2-3 years time. This month i will be applying for my learners and I am obsessed with cars. I have some questions about skylines which i hope you will be able to answer. 1. Is a skyline a great first car. 2. Is it safe to purchase a car from import sites. ie prestigemotorsport.com.au. If you know anyother sites could you please post it. 3. As all r33 skylines are second hand how is their performance compared to a new ford, hyndai, kia etc 4. Is it hard to obtain car loan/insurrance for a skyline r33. 5. Will the price of a 1997 skyline r33 gtst drop in 2 - 3 years time. Thankyou for your time and help. Regards Patrick
