ideas on custom parcel shelf to suit 6 x 9 s
J-Flash replied to ICER33's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I got autobarn to do mine. Cost me $130. Made from MDF and carpeted. They mounted the 6"*9" at an angle inwards so they did not have to cut any structural parts. I think it loofs Phat. And I didn'y have to settle for 6.5". I love my Kenwood speakers!! $130 bucks was a bit rich but they had to remove the old one and make and install the new and mount and wire the speakers. I am a pretty busy guy so thats the price you pay!!! here are some pics attached. Hope it helps Cheers, J-Flash -

I would like to get rid of the whole thing at once if I can dude, cos it might make the rest of it harder to sell. I will get the pics to ya as soon as i can. Thanks for ya response. Cheers, J-Flash -
hey guys have a few things for sale from my stock R33 94 model GTS-T. I don't know about pricing for some of it will do some investigating and edit post later, or if soem of you have feedback on what pricing should be let me know. 1. Stock air box - great condition Price - ? 2. Stock Intercooler and piping - pricing - ? While waiting for my car I purchased a 3"turbo back stainless exhaust wanting to rip the stock one off. When I finally bought the car it had a 3" that split to a 3.5" system with a wapping big muffler on the back of it. I think from the turbo back to the cat was stock but the rest was aftermarket for sure, I will take pics on the weeknend and post, but in the meantime 3. Full turbo back exhaust system low km's 3 - 3.5" - $300 the lot plus shipping. 4. Turbosmart VEE Port type 2 BOV - Brand new in box. On the car for 5 days (3 hours use. comes with an R32 right handed adapter bolt on- $190 the lot. PM me if interested. Cheers, J-Flash

I will rewire tomorrow and try. I have had no running problems and boost still appears to come on a bit earlier. I am now confused. Maybe someone can go more in depth. Not a tech head or a grease monkey, but I follow instructions well and I am careful with my work. Please un cloud the water! Cheers J-Flash
-
Dude, That is a bummer. You have taken the right tact with the high boost situation I have done this and I am happy a big improvement to a stock situation. 1 point and mate, I am not being critical, just don't want to mislead any of our fellow skyliners who may wish to go down the same road as us. When you said cut the black wire and permantly ground and leave the white wire untouched, I think you might have this around the wrong way! Go to this thread, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=boost+solenoid this is the one I followed. I have a 94 R33 GTS-T and this appears to be the right way. If I am wrong I apologize profusely, but I didn't want to give anyone the hassle of re-wiring!! Again didn't want to sound critical mate! Cheers, J-Flash

Mate I did mine recently (4 weeks ago) and I had instructions from Hybrid. They did not instruct you as to cut what and where. it becomes pretty evident once you get the front bar off. The structural paert of the cutting is easy as you can measure the distance of the bolts after you have put your FMIC on and are replacing that sttructural front piece. get your gring and start grinding. The front bar takes a little more mucking around with but the time is worth the wait. Be patient take your time and the rewards will present them selves. I can fax you the stuff I have from Hybrid if you want, its for an R33. PM me as I am at work and I am pretty sure I stiil have them in my car. Cheers, J-Flash

Sorry dude I keep gettin your name wrong, Wanking and typing just can't seem to do those 2 things at once. Whats your opinion, maybe you could give me some advice as to how to overcome this affliction. waiting with baited breath!!
-
Sorry mate Out of principle I would not sell them to ya. But trading might be an option unless some members have a problem with that too! I am sure I will find out. are you willing to trade with a wanker though, Paul33R whats your opinion on this!

Once more for the people who do not read clearly. A request has been made to have the thread removed. I did not intend (Paul33R) to make money from it just to cover the costs I have incurred. But thank you for your opinion but there is no need for name calling. I have read alot of your posts Paul33R and have learned a lot from them for that I am appreciative. But no one likes to be called something there not. I am surprised you of all people have reacted this way, very disappointing. Again I ask the controllers of this site to remove the thread before anyone else wastes there time when they could be spending it reading or responding to something useful. Cheers, J-Flash

Hey Guys, As for the thread in the wrong section you are right, so please please please delete this thread before someone else with too much time on their hands has a coronary! Due to the nature of the response from senior members of this site and some other individuals, I won't be proceeding with providing you the copyright proof I have since obtained which relates to the expressed permission given by these artists to allow me and others all over the world to distribute their public broadcasts (only) for the sole purpose of future album and tour promotions. And also to the fact that I was intending to donate between $5 and $10 per order to the SAU website to try and give back something in thanks for the countless hours of enjoyment and education this site has given me, this of course will now not be possible. other members of this site will now not have the opportunity to benefit from the enjoyment of this music. I want to make this last point- I did not intend in any way to make a huge profit from this idea. I merely obtained the music legally loved it and wanted to share it with certain members of this site (and other people) and maybe spark discussion and future get togethers and benefit the site also. I am guessing the guys who started this site had that in mind when they did just that - started! in my opinion you have lost site of this, again just my opinion. If you got to the end of this message, thanks for baring with me. Anybody who agrees with me you can PM me. Those of you who don't no doubt will leave their public opinion. Cheers, J-Flash

Hey Guys, I will throw my 2 cents in as well. This one is for those who don't have 1800 to 2500 to spend on a schwing system. I have had my skyline for a bout 3 months now. recycled some gear out of my old car, no point throwing away shit that still works good. Heres what I ahve and how I have done it. A couple of years ago I got a cheap Akai head unit ($180 bucks ) that has a left and right RCA plug outputs. Now you may be saying "AKAI, what drugs is this guy on." But let me tell ya I have had comments from people in my car saying how do you get such great clarity of sound out this cheap ass Head unit. Don't know myself it just sounds good. Not particularly powerfull probably either. I have also bought a cheap ass Amp from Supa cheap for $160 bucks. 4 channel * 200 watts that is bridgeable. Can't remember the brand but they still havem. Spent $60 bucks on a amp and speaker wiring kit. I shopped around for my Kenwood 6*9's (300 watts 3 ways) ($180 bucks). I chose Kenwood cause they are a bit Bassier than other speakers, but maintain clarity. The sub I only have 1 10" sony explode sub (700 watts) 90 bucks. and my front door speakers a re alpine Type s $140.(200 watts). When i got my alarm put in I had the guys make me up a new parcel tray for my 6*9's, they mounted them longways angled in so they did not have to cut the parcel tray (structural), they did this for $130 bucks installed and carpeted, looks schmick. I did all the rest of ther install. The forum helped out with R33 wiring for stereo. I have the 6" alpines wired directly to the head unit throught the high power option. The sub is bridged through channels 1 and 2 on the amp with the 6*9's through 3 and 4 respectively. Take your time wiring as this will pay off. So all up over 3 years I ahve spent $900 to $950. including a custome parcel tray! I ahve had fun putting it in and the satisfaction that comes along with that. Now to performance, I am not gonna win any audio comps. but I can guarntee you that my wife can here me coming up the street ages away. And also for fairly cheap I can get another amp the same and another sub and be doof doof around all over the shop. Hope I didn't bore ya too much. Cheers J-Flash

Hey dude, As well as a lot of Hip Hop ( D12, Dre, Snoop you know da rest), I dig some doof doof I got this Warp bros disc the other day that sounds phat. I am right into the Lostprophets at the moment. The usual supsects in my head unit are, PJ Harvey when I am chillin. Pacifier an TQOTS, Tha Foo's, The Darkness. I caught the Darkenss and lostprophets at this years BDO and they went off, Jet were good, Fear factory was great. Then later on when off chops, some doof doof with Basement jaxx, that was sick. Anyone goin to BDO next year (2005), I know its a fair way off but the rumour is that the Beastie boys will be one of the headliners. PM me if ya wanna hook up at the BDO. Cheers, J-Flash :flamed:

Hey Guys, I take it you installed a FMIC Kit (possibly a Hybrid). Great kits but they failed to provide one thing the nipple on the pipe in the same position as the stock one. I did not take a chance with mine as figured it must have been there for a reason, so I got a local welding place to put brass nipple mounted in a peice of aluminium and drilled a hole in the pipe and aluminium welded the whole thing in so it created a seal. Attached the hose to it once installed and got on with enjoying my new found power. get this done dude. If you want pics of mine just pm me. Cheers, J-Flash

Good Luck Jason. I live in Port Macquarie, but my sis lives in Horningsea Park, just down tha road from ya, so I can come down when I need work done. Cheers, J-Flash

MIC33R, Haven't I seen you driving in around Kempsey and Port. Adamstown is a long hike to work dude. I drive the stock looking white R33 with the 3 spoke rims. Let me know about Famous too as I have my insurance with them. If they go bust with my money They better find a safe place to hide. Thats f&$ked about ya car too dude. Junky's and P#$%ks like that need to put in a room with a bunch of people who ahve had similar experiences and see how they like there own internal property taken from them (liver, kidneys, stuff like that) that can be sold over the internet to pay excesses and for unclaimable items. they better pray I don't cathem doin it to my car or thay will end up like Zed.. And where is Zed.. Zed's dead!!! Cheers, J-Flash
