  1. Im not sure if I should mention the business that installed it. They have done others in the past which is why I went there. Im not sure what fluid they used unfortunately. Would it be worth having it drained then refilled with MaticJ?
  2. Regarding point 1. I was at WOT when it shifted at 5k rpm..I was expecting it to shift at the normal ~6.6k rpm. Also my second point. The transmission never did this before at 60-70 kmh it would always downshift into 2nd. This has only started to do this for about a week. Im assuming this is related to the transmission controller and not the actual VB? Thanks for the info so far guys!
  3. Ahh I see. Well I researched this extensively...mostly on the G35 forums. Im not too worried about the hard shifts / clunking as I was expecting this. Was more curious if it was normal behavior or not. Im not sure if they used MaticJ or Dextron3. Haha perhaps ill have to use the "manual" mode all the time now
  4. Hi Guys, Well after having the transgo for about three weeks now I have to say im not impressed. In manual mode the 2>3 shift is very clunky and if i floor the car in drive regardless of what speed im going the down shift is very aggressive: like someone rear-ended you. I have noticed several issues with my car: 1) On several occasions in D at WOT the transmission would upshift way before redline (at ~5k rpm) and the change was not crisp or fast at all...I would say even worse than the stock transmission. 2) Another example is if im doing approx 60-70km/h and i floor it in D the transmission will downshift, then upshift, then downshift again. 3) Sometimes if im in D and i floor it, it takes 2 - 3 seconds for the car to react. During the few seconds before it downshifts it just accelerates in the gear that it is currently in (5th if im just cruising). 4) In D if i floor it the transmission will SLAM into gear with a loud bang...is this normal? I have reset the ECU by leaving the battery disconnected for about 10min. This didnt change anything. Has anyone had the same or similar issues with their transgo? I had it installed by a well know auto transmission shop in Perth but im now wondering if it was not installed correctly.
  5. Hi Guys, Has anyone tried this on a V35?
  6. I have been told the berks are really good! Has anyone used HFC's with a stock exhaust? Im worried that its going to be raspy.
  7. I thought they were but just wanted to check. From what I can gather over at G35Driver, headers are a waste of money because the cost a lot to install and give small gains on an N/A.
  8. Hi All, Im looking at changing my HFC and y-pipe with some aftermarket ones. I know the G35 and V35 are basically the same car but I just want to check that the exhausts are the same before I purchase some parts. Im looking at: - M2 2.5" Y Pipe (Based off the HR Design) (linky) - Kinetix HFC (http://www.autocarparts.com/part/1453/0/) Will this all bolt up to the rest of the exhaust? Also does anyone know a good place to have this done in Perth? Thanks guys!
  9. Well it turn out that it was the right hand side wheel bearing that was also faulty. Replaced an now its whisper quiet in the cabin..hooray! I guess its good to change the wheel bearings in pairs then?
  10. Apparently the issue is still the front wheel bearings! Is it common for a brand new wheel hub to be dodge??? Anyways am going to get the front two replaced hopefully in the next week or two.
  11. What were the results?
  12. Black 350GT Coupe leaving KFC at Livingston shopping center last night.
  13. Cheers SmokeyC34! Probably the best way to describe the noise is like "Driving on a rail track" a sort of thunk thunk thunk that gets worse as speed increases...however just to mix things up it doesn't always make this noise, instead its just really loud road noise :\ I posted my issue on G35 driver and people are suggesting I check that the front and rear axles are greased. Apparently a common problem for the G35.
  14. Hi all, I had the left wheel hub replaced but the noise is still there and it even seems worse! Any ideas what else it could be? The mechanic did say that the right wheel hub also needs to be replaced and said the noise will not go away until this is done. I noted on the way home today that when I turn left the noise completely disappears...when I turn right the noise gets slightly worse. Ill probably take it to a wheel/suspension specialist in the new year as most places are booked out.
  15. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a drivers side door handle trim piece in silver (see attached pic). Please PM me on here if you have one for sale. Cheers
  16. I have been really interested in doing this for my 5AT...but I'm in Perth...so far 2 quotes have been 1.2k plus parts (rip!) And the other 700 plus parts. Anyone done this in Perth ...id like to use a shop who has installed one before.
  17. Edit: Yes I can see from your sig it’s a coupe 5AT like mine however mine is a 03. Not sure if there will be a difference?
  18. Thanks for the help / advice Alexander I really appreciate it! Ill call up my ususal mechanic who deals with imports and see if they cant help me.
  19. Well that includes labout etc but still...seems a bit steep?
  20. Thanks for that reply! Makes sense I got a quote from Nissan to replace the front wheel HUB...$900! The guy i spoke to there said that there are several diffrent types of wheel hubs for the V35. Is that corect? Reason I ask is I have found one on Ebay (this particualr one has finished but there must be others around) here. Would that fit on my car? (As you can probably guess i know very little about this!). I should say that its a 2003 coupe with the non brembo brakes. Thanks again.
  21. Hi, I’m having an issue with my 2003 V35 skyline. I have only recently had some new tyres put on the car as the previous tyres were on the way out. While they were getting fitted I was told that the front passenger side wheel has a noisy bearing. Driving it around now there is a significant amount of road noise coming from that particular wheel. The other thing I have noticed is when I turn a corner left, the noise disappears, when I turn right the noise changes to a sort of rotating "whummmmp whuumppp" (I guess?) type noise...this particular noise seems to come from everywhere. While the new tyres were being fitted the guys there said I have a very noisy wheel bearing on the passenger front wheel. Could that explain the excessive road noise? Secondly in regards to the other tyres could it be the wheel alignment that is out? I had one done when the tyres were fitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
