Hey all, So today I got pulled over for an RBT and the cop decided to have a look my R34 GTT skyline and he was commenting on the hid headlights first telling me they weren't stock then after I convinced them they are he started telling me that by law they have to be self leveling and what not, he didn't try to defect it or anything but took all my details and is going to ring the RMS and find out what the go is. Has anyone elce had this told to them, the way I see it they are as they come from the factory and when its been imported has complied to Australia's RMS regulations. Keen to know if anyone has any info about it. Cheers, James

Any reason for this ^ im just wondering

What i want to look at building a motor for is to eventually turn the car more into a track car than a daily drive and just the hobby of building a motor but what sort of power can you get out of a 25 opened/ unopened safely vs the 26 i want to have a motor that i can give it a thrashing without having to worry all the time about breaking things. what are your ideas on the 2 motors and what they are capable of, i mean you are going to know alot more than me im only new to the skyline scene and just trying to bead in the right direction haha. thanks guys any info is appreciated and taken on board James

Gday all, Down the track i want to build a bit of a project over a period of time and i want to start with a Rb 26, i was just wondering what problems there is putting the GTR motor into the GT-T? is it a major problem or am i over thinking haha. Cheers, James

fitting these oil cooler does it remove the oil water heater or whatever they are called?

Hey all, If this has been covered already can someone direct me, if not im looking at putting a new turbo on my 98 R34 gt-t Rb 25neo mods inc: Hypergear G2 FNT Turbo. NIStune ECU with duel fuel maps 550cc injectors. Blitz Turn Flow FMIC. Genuine Walbro 255lph fuel pump, with full voltage mod done. XForce 3" full exhaust with Loboka 100CPI Cat. Varex 3" Muffler with custom valve button on the dash. 3" Metal intake with pod, hidden inside modified factory box with snorkel 270rwkw on PULP98, 290rwkw on Ethanol (E-Flex), i have the turbo off it atm due to doing some head work but looking at the turbo it has no markings, letters, serial numbers etc on it, it has abit of shaft play which i am going to get it looked at and what I want to look into is, if it is on its way out what turbo to go for next, Now i know there is no specific you need this turbo wit these mods but what im looking for is if someone has either abit of an idea around about what would suit or any info on sizing the right turbo, any info would be appreciated Thanks, James

yeah ok thanks might give that a go the car has a miss anyway due to a suspected exhaust valve suspected to be not sealing properly. But thanks great advise

Hi all, I noticed today that my skyline started blowing steam out of the exhaust and I mean alot of steam (not from exhaust condensation) any ideas on what it could be I thinking maybe head gasket? I know the exhaust valve in piston #5 is not sealing properly which I am hoping to get fixed next week, I noticed this when I had a compression test done on the car. Any info would greatly be appreciated Thanks James.

Gday all, Just wanted to get peoples feedback on what ignition system is recommended I have a 98 r34 gt-t it runs nistune and has duel fuel maps (98 & E-flex) and puts out 270rwkw on 98 and 290rwkw on e-flex. I have been doing some reading and everyone seems to be leaning towards Splitfires, are these the way to go? cheers guys, James

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows a mechanic that is known to be good with skylines around Newcastle, I'm new to skylines and only just bought one recently, I need to get some head work done aka reseal the valves due to a suspected leak in the exhaust valve in piston 5 (picked up by an inspection I had done) and possibly a head gasket (well I think, the car is blowing lots of steam out of the exhaust and its not condensation? any ideas) Any information would be greatly appreciated.
