  1. Hey everyone, Just been defected. Was hoping someone here would have some stock suspension they can let me burrow. I'll give you something to show my appreciation, whether its a slab or whatever... Just let me know. Thanks in advanced.
  2. You would be able to tell if it had no power steering! I had to drive without it for half a day when my belt tore off... A lot of hard work
  3. But you should really be running on 98 octane fuel ALWAYS since that is the closest we have to the Japs!!!
  4. My last tank got me about 430km with all round driving... which included quite a lot of trashing here and there.
  5. While I'm here I might as well ask... What happens when you do it up too tight?
  6. FFS! Now I have to pull the airbox and piping out of the way again!!! Does having too little tension cause a belt to tear off? Thanks for the replies guys.
  7. OK, today I put my new belt in. Adjusted as close as possible to the manual's tension figures just going by my hand and eyes. Just one problem, on the first start it squeeled for a couple of seconds. I recall this actually happened the day that my belt tore off so I'm a little worried now. Does anyone know what squeeling generally means? As in too much tension or not enough? Thanks
  8. Should the PS pulley have any play in it? For example moving in and out a bit??
  9. Hey guys, Was driving today and suddenly noticed I lost my power steering. Once I stopped and had a look and found that my PS belt which was only just replaced about a month ago had come off and was damaged. Upon inspection it doesn't seem like it got caught on anything, ie fans. But it seems the edge ribs or threading (no idea of what you call them) must of come loose and eventually tore off half of the belt's 4 ribs??. I'm going to buy a replacement today and try to put it in myself, but does anyone have any tips on how to install it and tension it up correctly? Thanks

    Brake Places

Hey guys, I checked the important links thread at the top but it only had "performance workshops". Just wondering if any of you guys could please recommend me a trustworthy and cheap places for brake work. I will probably need them to find out what's wrong (hard pedal like the car isn't running and makes a metal scraping noise from the front calipers when brakes are applied) but mainly just need rotors to be machined, new pads installed, flush and bleed brake fluid, and to fix a snapped stud. Thanks everyone.
  13. You can't take it out because it controls your HICAS (4 wheel steering). Although if you want to take it out you will have to disable HICAS probably by getting a lock bar fitted.
  14. Thanks
  15. Yer, I wouldn't mind knowing what that box is too. Got one in mine but have nfi what it does!
  16. This happens with my R32 analogue climate control unit sometimes. I don't have a stereo in at that moment so I can just reach to the loom and wiggle it around and it will return back to normal but I have no idea what I will do once i get a stereo in there. :
  17. I was also thinking about this as well because my R32 A/C fan doesn't come on at all. Seemed very wierd as with the Commodore it comes on instantly regardless of temp as RANDY has meantioned. I've tried shorting the connection of the plug to the sensor on the radiator and the fan does come on so there is obviously power to it.
  18. No. ...ECU doesn't care how much fuel you have left, apart from having to light up the fuel light on the dash.
  19. That is so hot!!! I'm so jealous right now
  20. So you have all concluded danielson did this? Because I'm not sure if anyone has meantioned this.... but the rims in the Herald Sun photo are white... NOT CHROME. I also don't see the decals down the side. At first I thought you guys were joking but now I don't know.
  21. Well I was just guessing going by my experience since I don't understand Japanese. Your compliance place probably didn't bother with the sticker prodived... that's if they bought a genuine Nissan belt. But I know when I bought my belt from Nissan it came with that sticker with blank spaces for me to write the KM when you change it.
  22. It means it has done the "100,000km dealer service" which generally includes a new timing belt. I got one of those stickers when I bought my timing belt from Nissan.
  23. Yes counter-clockwise is the way to loosen. Also you can spray some WD-40 or RP-7 and let it soak in for a while then have a go again.
  24. Sorry, I didn't see it. Could you breifly describe what the article was about.
  25. Thanks guys. I didn't know this was normal.
