  1. Ok, I am running Power FC plus boost controller on my N1 GTR which has N1 turbos and the usual mods. Now after an initial tune with a change to the timing etc the car was coming on boost at around 2500rpm and at 4000rpm was making around 0.9bar (from the peak readings of the Hand Controller). I was obviously very happy with this respons. Anyway a couple of weeks late, i'm now finding that it still comes on at the low rpm but is only about 0.6-0.7 bar at 4000 and doesn't reach 1 bar till round 6000rpm. This is probably cause ive dicked round with the boost control settings which is where the question comes in. These are the numbers that are dialed in to the power fc in the first and second last columns: 0.8bar 38 (approx) 0.9bar 42 (approx) 1.0bar XX 1.2bar YY XX and YY are the numbers i was told to alter to change the boost settings. What are the numbers actually representative of? Not too concerned at the moment as i'm doing a few more minor mods then get it tuned to 1.4bar and this time i'll ask them to go over it in a bit more detail. If this has been covered before then please point me in the right direction Cheers Burto
  2. AFMs are sold, all other parts still available
  3. I found the old system better as when you're looking at new posts you can stumble across people selling stuff, whereas this new system is separate from the usual forums.
  4. Whoa, this thread has gotten real angry real quick, maybe we should start up RAFSD (Random Abuse From Skyline Drivers) and vent some of that anger on unsuspecting motorists (preferably bogans). But seriously, i lived in Perth for 2 years with my gts-t and never had a single comment made about it, a few looks maybe but that was it, i had it over here in Newcastle and the first night i drove it through town to get some fuel i had about 3 different cars want to drag me and some other idiot do a burnout leaving the fuel station. Now that i've got the GTR its even worse! Although i tend to avoid hunter street on wednesday night, and i stay away from the foreshore period. A mate of mine pointed out how F$%ked a world we live in when you can't drive in certain areas at certain times for fear of dickheads crashing into you or police defecting you. I agree with keeping any reckless driving on the track and while i might take off from the lights fast i wouldn't call it street racing, the moment i reach the speed limit i back off. Of course you can still be done for "unnecessary acceleration" or some shit. But i find its not a certain type of car that causes the issues, its the driver, your young bogans, car full of drunks wanting to prove how manly they are. Anyway thats enough ranting... for now
  5. Ha, What is it about people going stupid at you cause you drive a nice car? A mate of mine also has a R33 GTR and he always gets teenagers (on fn Bmxs of all things) trying to pay him out about how its a shit car. Last weekend we went for a quick jaunt down the old pacific highway and i'm behind him at these lights and some tosser in a 4wd winds his window down and is all sarcastic saying: "nice car, maaaaaaaaate, what's under the bonnet???" Response: "Ah... an engine??" Then he starts going on about how he's got 500hp and some other drugged out bogan shit, basically trying to pay us both out for having nic cars. Anyway, 2 GTRs smoking all 4 wheels past him shut him up. (Not that i condone that sort of behaviour)
  6. Hmm... well ive wasted a lot of money on my car and it is SO close to how i want it. Only things i need: 1. Some Volks TE37s 2. My driveshaft to snap (so i can replace it with a CF one, if for no other reason than to say my car has one) 3. Someone to take the engine out of my car and give it a real good clean. As for your $3k: 700cc Injectors: $750 Fuel Pump: $400 Boost Controller: $450 Tuning etc: $500, So $3K would easily cover it
  7. Sorry mate, only after 18s Thanks anyway
  8. Yeah i'm interested, depends on work availability though!
  9. Hmm, tried the nissan dealers and they said they can't get it... still looking
  10. Just ask whoevers fitting it if they can source it, i basically rung up the exhaust shop and said i needed the best flowing legal 4" cat they could get, they said that the Magic one was coming out in zoom and was rated the best out of about 10 types studied (haven't seen the mag so not sure on accuracy of that statement). Anyway it was $550 for the cat itself and then the cost of fitting it.
  11. Yep thats the one, yeah Nengun said around the $300 mark is what it should cost over here.
  12. Bump Anyone know a good place to source this?
  13. Sorry don't have a picture, but imagine a 4" wide baked bean can thats about 5" high and thats what it looks like. Got it installed at Premeir Exhaust and Performance Sandgate Newcastle, they were awesome guys, $550 for the cat and $50 to install, took them about an hour to do. The exhaust had two resonators so just got them to cut one out and chuck the cat on. My exhaust is actually surprisingly quiet for the size of the thing, it was some japanese custom made job.
  14. Bump, interested in 18" rims of similar design to Volk TE37s/QFs etc.
  15. Hey mate, I have a 3" to 4" front pipe with 4" cat-back system, it came with the car from japan and had no catalytic converter, was driving around for a week (not good i know) while waiting to book it in. The exhaust was fantastic, popping and backfiring its way happily, even the occasional flames out the exhaust, the good news is, the Magic 4"cat went on and no real noticeable difference, the exhaust still makes that cool backfiring noise and i have noticed "maybe" the TINIEST restriction at higher rpm, but it could just be my imagination. So yeah i'd recommend this cat, cost me $600 installed, probably be able to find yourself one cheaper but i was in a hurry, $10 000 fines don't appeal to me.
  16. Bought a ORC twin plate clutch from nengun, after the adaptor kit (11 piece one). Wondering if anyone here has a brand new one or knows a good cheap place to order them. No rush! Cheers Burto
  17. They have been coming up reasonably regularly at the auctions in Japan, i sometimes like to check them out and dream. Starting bid is normally in the 5M to 6M yen mark.
  18. Interested in getting my hands on a set of Buddy Club QFs 18 X 10, GTR Offset, gunmetal grey. Let me know if you can help me out. Burto
  19. Left hand door trim? Any pics of it? How much would you be looking at? Its got to be in unmarked condition.
  20. Bump
  21. Hey Just after opinions of what is the best oil for a gearbox on a 1995 automatic GTS-t (standard) Thanks
  22. Excellent, 255/35s are only a 1.2% speedo inaccuracy. Thanks for the help!!
  23. My car is currently fitted with standard 17" GTR rims with 235/45 tyres and the speedo (nismo 320kph) is accurate. Now i've got some 18 X 10 rims to go on just wondering what size tyre will maintain speedo accuracy (thinking of going 255/45, would these work?) Thanks
  24. Has anyone had any experience with regards to claims they've made and mods that they have listed that haven't really been legal. My car is legal for WA but not over here in Newcastle and im worried that they'd try and void the policy on those grounds.
