  4. isnt that 5w50? ie way too thick?
  5. is it really worth the money to get a genuine nissan oil? what does everyone else use? ive heard the factory rating is 7.5w30? ive just bought a pennzoil semi syn 5w30 to flush the motor, as ive just imported it and want to clean it out, but after this what does everyone recommend? remember 'oils aint oils' and everyone probably uses something different..but i really do want the best for this motor. cheers ppl. dave
  6. hey everyone, im in the process of servicing my recently imported 32. upon removing the coils and spark plugs, ive discovered that the (platinum) plugs have been marked with texta on the side of the porcelain in line with the electrode arm. i also noticed when removing them that all these marks were pointing dead straight toward the front of the engine - obviously aligning the electrodes foward.. ive heard rumors that this makes the engine more efficient, and more powerful etc etc.. now is it worth my while to do the same thing when i install new ones? there is obviously no harm in doing it, but does it actually make a difference is what im curious to find out. next question is, if i am to do this, how do i align them while keeping the correct torqe on them without over tightening and under tightenting to keep the electrode aligned?
  7. hey everyone, ive just imported an R32 with RB20 Motor. it has a FMIC, cat back, pod. it seems to go alot harder than i thought it would, which is when i took a look at the AFM. what is the size of the stock afm on an rb20? because this one measures 80mm.. i was under the impression this was a z32 afm. is there any other way to tell? i heard different coloured stickers on the side would tell also. i also understand that the stock ecu has to be remapped/replaced to communicate with the Z32. is this also correct? and if so - will i have to install a stock ecu and AFM to get the car complied and passed through RTA inspection (15 year rule)? thanks people.
  8. cool, thanks for your help guys. i was pretty sure this was the case, but a second opinion (or 2) always helps. thanks dave
  9. so basically its just a stock LSD (and unknown if it has a aftermarket center) that would make it an R200 wouldnt it?
  10. hey everyone i just bought this car, its a HCR32 GTSt i have this pic of the undercarridge and from what ive been told to look for etc, im under the impression that this diff casing indicates that its got like a 'v-spec' or that its 'LSD is this correct? - which is told from the cooling fins on the rear cover. or did some R32's have finned diff casings without LSD? i know for sure the fins indicate a V-spec on R33 GTR's but what does this mean for my 32 GTSt? cheers
  11. yeah thats what i was thinking actually.... T25 bit small for these donks isnt it?
  12. alrighty.. ill check into it a bit more and get back to ya. cheers
  13. hmm im talking in terms of computer being able to work with it
  14. yeah the car already has a 3inch mandrel system all the way thru fromt he turbo. so if i were to get an AFM from an R31 it will theoretically just plug in and bolt on, crank engine and free-flowing fun?

  16. hey peeps, im hopefully about to be the proud new owner of R30_turbo's car. for a refresh its a '84 Paul Newman L20et anways, im wondering what simple things can i do/change to make it more responsive? ive notcied that the stock AFM is highly SMALL and restrictive. what can i do about this? will a Z32 AFM simply bolt on? like one of the 80mm ones or something like that?
  17. is this thing adaptable to any kind of motor with a stock AFM? i have a L20ET, and it has a stock AFM with a flap style intake and its tiny. would this simply bolt up and run?
