  1. Thoroughly enjoyed the clipsal this year. Had turn 9 and 11 trackside tickets and turn 9 had enough spills to keep it interesting. I think with some tweaking the nissans and Merc's will work their way up the ladder. Probably a good thing they didnt dominate on their debut, otherwise they would have been heckled and probably kicked off again. But the one thing I can't stop thinking about after the weekend is ordering a sequential gearbox.
  2. I'll be the guy in the loudest nissan shirt I could find on eBay! I'll also probably be the guy on tv being taken away in an ambulance.
  3. Pump up the clutch pedal a few times and see of you can get a bit of pressure up. If it does, possibly a bleed will fix it, but you may want to direct your attention to a master or slave. Good luck, but I personally wouldn't take the box out till you've at least PROVED its not your hydraulics.
  4. Few mates and myself have bought tickets this year, had lost interest the last few years but am looking forward to seeing what the shake up will do to the die hard ford/ holden fans with a few cans in them... ( not sure if it'll be funny or dangerous! )
  5. Yeah, must have a good earth. I get called out to so many cars that end up being bad earths and/or low battery voltage, it sends most cars ecu's haywire. (Or like this post, having issues with hicas and finding its already been deleted!!! LOL) Also, relays get forgotten about a lot. At the end of the day, they are just a switch with a coil winding inside, they are bound to give up the ghost at some stage.
  6. Hey mate, I had an issue with hicas on my s1 33, ended up borrowing a hicas computer from a wrecker to test and turns out that's all it was. $100 dollar fix. My symptoms were, randomly the light would turn on but found the steering became stiff at the same time (almost not power assisted at all). Switch it off then on again and it was sorted for the next few days. As always, check your fuses and relays tho.
  7. Definitely will post up results, I've never put any of my cars on e85 so I'm a little curious myself to see what's going to be the result. Thanks for the info.
  8. It never really bothered me, almost forgot it even did it, but since i got it resprayed and a new set of rims etc... All the little things are really starting to annoy me. Also noticed the interior light will not come on when the doors open. Only manually with the roof switch. Yet the door switches have power and are grounded. It's almost as if it was never set up for it. And the door switches were for the alarm only.
  9. Looking for a bit of advice, as the topic says, our track car is an s13 with an s15 front running a built rb26dett with new garrett -7 turbos. It will be going in for a tune to get the best out of the new turbos and E85 in a week or so. Question is... I haven't got any heat shields on the manifolds, turbos or dump pipes. Is this going to be an issue? There are no wires or rubber hoses as all non essentials have been taken off.
  10. Have got a series 1 r33 and have always wondered if the low beams are supposed to stay on when high beam is on. Mine switches off so that only 2 lights are on at a time instead of all 4. Is this the case with all 33's or is there a wiring issue or possibly wrong globes in mine.
  11. Mate I'm in the same situation with the r33. that sort of rubbery matte black finish is awesome but I can't find anything the same. Closet thing I found was at Repco, it was a black bumper spray that is supposed to be like a spray on car bra. I thought about it but after reading the directions on the can, it is designed to be removed with a high pressure car wash hose, so it'd scratch pretty easy I'd imagine. I'm goin for the matte black wrap when I get some time.
  12. Can you find what area the noise is coming from? It could possibly be a noisey tx valve. I've got a 7 series BMW that hoots honks and ticks occasionally, turns out its a pressure valve that causes weird noises as the gas passes through it, reading up a little I found that the spring that the gas is forcing open gets weak and vibrates.
  13. It's not the first time it's had redline oil, I only changed it because it had been a while since it was done. And second had started to get a bit harder to select than normal (hence reason for the change). We run it in the track car also and it's been fine. I'll take it for another bit of drive tomorrow and see if its the same. I just wanted to see if there was some sort of gearbox issue that causes the box to pressurise.
  14. Changing the oil sounds like the go then. I was only running that oil due to the syncros in 2nd getting a bit notchy. I guess I've just donated $120 to bursons. Oh well, I spose I could have spent it on worse things.
  15. Took the r33 out today was fairly hot (bout 40*c) have been running "redline lightweight". And found that it pumped a considerable amount of oil out the breather (bout 250ish ml). Has anyone had this issue. Wasn't an enthusiastic drive either, 45mins or so through Adelaide hills.
  16. Yeah your right, the originals do have a nice glow at night. You've just made up my mind. Cheers fellas.
  17. Yeah cheers. Not a fan of the clear looking ones, I may even go for the originals, as so far nothing has really stood out. It's on the list!
  18. The r33 out in daylight for once. Only showing a pic of the front as the tail lights have water in them, need to find a set of aftermarket led units that don't look cheap...
