  1. Looking into the paintshop, R32 And then a Boggo Impreza. 'What is a standard Impreza doing at JUN?'. Getting turned into a RWD D1 car, thats what! Using GTR driveshaft and box.

  3. They gave me a work suit, and introduced me to the mechanics. 2 or 3 could speak understandable English, which was nice . As you can understand, on my first day of being there, I didnt run around with my camera. Which was a shame, since this was the only time the 2 Evos were at the place. They were racing in a 'Deamcar Club' event the coming weekend, so were trailered off on Wednesday, along with 2 mechanics. After doing some basic jobs and cleaning things up, I was given a cusco LSD to fit. After that, I stripped down the gearbox from the Option 350Z (the bright orange one that got rolled in America). A couple of days went pretty quick, and it was soon Friday. I was told to 'Take many pictures!'. So here we are: A bunch of wheels (mainly volk and enkie) A customers Supra:
  4. I was really tired, and tomorro was work, so we headed back. I woke up damn early he next morning! work started at 9 and I had to catch 2 trains and a bus to get there. The journey was all worth it when I got off the bus though: This is JUN auto Mechanic in Irushima. Shop floor of JUN Auto:
  5. Ok, enough of that. On the way back, we drove around Tokyo for a bit. It looked kinda kickass so I took a pic. (Stupid C5 got in the way haha) I looked over to my right and saw the Eiffel tower! WTF, right stubby dude, wrong country!

  7. I wasnt sure if I should go in or not....... so I did! Mmm 350Z I felt a bit braver, so went over to the Evo: Then another little stubby guy (I felt kinda tall for the first time whilst in Japan) came and told us to get out.
  8. These wheels made my eyes hurt though! Another shot of stuff: Walking out, I hear the noise of airtools. So I go to investigate, and find the workshop!
  9. Mmmmm, stuff The wheel that nobody dislikes:
  10. OK. So with my work experience agreed, and plane tickets booked, I head out to Birmingham Airport UK. Flying to Narita, Tokyo via Copenhagen. I havnt flown much in the past, but it was the most boring trip you could ever imagine. Anyway, im not going to Japan to experience the flight. I land at Narita, and wander around a bit, and a bit more. Hmmm. I had agreed to meer Mr.Tanaka (owner of JUN) at arrivals, but I couldnt see anyone 'waving JUN flag' finalised. Eventually a little stubby dude comes over and takes me home (with a bit of chat, oh and a JUN flag). About 1 hours drive, and im pretty tired. I started to wake up a bit when I saw this: Ive got the right stubby dude then! The next day was a national holiday, so Mr.Tanakas son asked me if theres anywhere I wanted to go...... Super Autobacs it is!
  11. I only went for a very short time, but Autobacs is deffinately worth a visit. Oh and dont worry about turning upto places with no car.

Oh also, JUN isnt all in one building. Auto mechanic/Auto works (tuning/body shop) is maybe 1.5hrs away from the Machine shop (parts making). Also they have set ups in America and Thialand

Yup RX3. JUN auto mechanic is actually very large. Theres the main hall (with the 240 etc in). Behind that is the bodyshop. Theres a fairly large section of machines for final grinding of cam profiles, flywheels and bores etc. And theres another large hall, basically empty exept for a new impreza being converted to a RWD D1 car for the owner of Ebisu circuit.Theres the engine room, and shop floor. Also the dyno. As for the staff, they are most of the mechanics. 2 were at a race meeting with some 700bhp ish Evos (one "super lemon" Evo, if you know JUN cars). On that site, are maybe 20 machinists. At the main machine shop are maybe 30 operators, and 10 office staff.
  14. I purchased the Z-tune R34 last week from Autobacs. The bonnet line seems to be sweet as a nut.

Thanks guys. Im not sure if I took enough photos for a photo diary, but ill draft one out and see what its like. The language barrier was a bit of a pain, but you work around it. As for the XR6T. Well there were about 3 engines kept heavily covered up. One I got a sneak of had a TVR V8 label, but I didnt see a XR6T. There were many inline 6s floating around though, mostly RB26.
