How to: pass wire through r33 firewall
MANWHORE replied to MANWHORE's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Omg, thanks so much for that col-gtsx. see, the problem is, i've been passing wires through the right hand side - near the accelerator. The grommet is like really tight, so i've just squeezed the wires through the edge, which is pretty dodgy. I find they get cut in a few months from getting rubbed on the edge. I've had a look at the main grommet which you speak of. I notice that the grommet is also very tightly squeezing onto the loom. How do I get stuff through it without wrecking it, or cutting it? or do I just have to make a small hole in it and poke the coathanger through? I don't want water leaks -
FS: Trust TD06-17C RB20/25 upgrade turbo
MANWHORE replied to JL's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
how about instead of pming, how about you just post the info in the main thread e.g. condition, what mods are required to fit it. I, and everyone else who looks at the thread wants to know too -
not really. There are many different brands of lock nuts. In each brand, there are probably 500 combinations. On the locknut key, there is usually a number, and you have to know which company it is too. You can't just go to the shop, because a) they won't know what key it is and b)they won't know who makes it. i'm sure they'd do it if they could. Your best bet would have to be to try and contact the previous owner. If not, the only way to remove it, would be the good old mechanical way? Hit it hard with a hammer to loosen it, then try to drill the lock nut off, or drill a hole in the back of the stud and use an extractor? tough situation. Sorry I couldn't offer what you wanted to hear Note to self - i've had a half worn lock nut tool. I'm gonna try and buy a new key, or change the locknuts before they get stuck. Cheers

Hi Gary You mentioned above that it has some disadvantages too. What are they? From what you've said, it seems the goods. and you can't argue with the price.

I personally can't stand the magic trees. But, that's just personal preference. They are quite cheap though. I love the smell of those ambi purs, and on special at autobarn etc, they're like $5 for the full thing. Tom, if you go to motoquipe hornsby (Lets just say i'm not recommending them, but, just using their place as reference, because they're the only ones who sell it.) They have these asian ones. They blue one is ****ing nice. I think they're about $15. They last ages, and they're really nice. Is it like those?

Best Location for Boost guage ...
MANWHORE replied to Coupe-This's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've seen one where you saw off the back of the ash tray, and you can mount stuff in there. That is, if you're not a smoker, or using it as a coin box. hehehe -
R33 dashtop tv eoi
MANWHORE replied to tang0's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yep, interested then. Thumbs up mate. How will it be mounted to the dash? Screwed in? Btw, tv units are all slightly different sizes and shapes. You may have to tell uswhich unit you are going to base it on, so we can buy the same one. Cheers -
Wish I had seen this earlier. I cut and soldered the stock wiring. damn.

R33 dashtop tv eoi
MANWHORE replied to tang0's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
If you can get this done in plastic, and it's cheap, then i'd be interested. Coz fibre is ****ing shit. Can I ask, will you be charging near the cost of what it costs you? or are you making a big profit. Help out fellow sauers... -
r33 - Passing wire through the firewall
MANWHORE replied to MANWHORE's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
nah, a coupe Oh, ok. well, I just wanna redo my wiring, as well as my boost guage hose. I guess you could call my previous install "dodgy". As I could not find any grommets, I just pulled aside the steering wheel grommet, and shoved the wires through. The wires ended up getting cut on the edge. Are there any small grommets that are easier to get to? -
Pics please. Cheers
-
How do I pass a wire through the firewall on an r33? there doesn't seem to be grommets like on other cars. Can someone please take engine bay pics as well as under the footwell of where the wire goes? Cheers fellars

R33 dashtop tv eoi
MANWHORE replied to tang0's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
5" is only like a few bucks cheaper than 7" and 100x as gay. I would recommend for 7 inch. If I may ask, what will it be made out of? I hope not fibre glass -
R33 dashtop tv eoi
MANWHORE replied to tang0's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'd be interested if it looks very factoryish. as i believe mounting a tv up there is defective. -
I seriously reckon it's a waste of time. I'm running an r34 gtt cooler in my car. the work to change them, as well as the cost, is just not worth it. You get a small improvement, for a bigger time and money cost than it's worth. Save up and buy a front mount.

Hi I've picked up a used intercooler that had not had the ends covered. there is some dust etc inside. As well as the usual oil slick in there. What is the best product to use that does not leave a residue. So far i'm thinking: metho - no residue I don't think. Probably too weak to dissolve oil turps - stronger. REsidue? Kero - " Petrol - " Cheers Fellars

rev, i'm actually sort of half stuck in between. I am familiar with black body radiators. But if you just think back to basic everyday concepts, wouldn't the paint just act as an insulator for the heat to transfer to the air?

Doughies, out the front of my house!!
MANWHORE replied to blu32GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
well, I can see your pain, but I must ask you something. you stood in front of the car etc. what if he had run you over? you could have been seriously hurt. even if the police catch him and put him in jail or whatever, you may become paralyzed. or say if he got out and smacked ya - once again, he would be charged with assault, so what, you could become paralyzed, broken bones or whatever. yes, I know that they were stupid doing burnouts there, but.... you have 4 cars in front of your house. you smacked his car. firstly, what if he called the cops on ya? you'd have a criminal charge. how would that look for your job applications. oh, yeah, i've got a criminal charge. secondly, what happens if he intended to defend his property and cracked you a few using your piece of wood? same deal as above. -
r32 gtr wheels fir r33 perfectly, only fit a lowered r32 with a shitload of camber - about 3-4 degs and 205 tyres at thre rear without rollin gthe guards. I guess you could call it phat.lol
-
but they are very good wheels. I've got a set. very light suprisingly, they're wider than r33gtst wheels, yet their lighter!!!
-
they are not that cheap. Although you get a few special prices here and there, they generally go for 1k+. there was a set that was just advertised for 1200.
