  1. doubt that busted old rusty thing will do much. If you're worried, install a new earth. I'm gonna do that when I get the time.
  2. just have a geez at it, look at the colour. Theoretically, as the pod gets older, flow will decrease. At what stage you feel that the decrease in flow is justified to change it, is up to you. If I was changing a paper filter in a car, I would probably do it every 10 000ks. A pod is supposed to be an upgrade (flows more), but i don't see why you would want to have one on there that's all dirty. Having said that, I do have an apexi pod, but next change, probably will get something washable like a kn
  3. once you look at it, you'll laugh at yourself at how easy it is it's 2 bolts and 1 eclip. take the clip off, undo the bolts, and bob's your uncle
  4. hmmm, i wonder how important this strap is? mine looked pretty dodgy (dirty and stuff) and when i did the turbo, i haven't bothered to put it back on yet I don't really seeing it as grounding that well on a rusted out exhaust manifold anyways. Maybe I might put in a better one. it's still on my garage shelf.
  5. Change em. from memory (been a while) the rear turbo deosn't ahve to come out, but the front does. I saw a thread a while ago about doing it without removing the turbo. ps: you'll be slapping yourself for not having the dumps changed when you got the turbos swapped
  6. I don't have those specific sections of legislation/adr on hand. I'm a bit busy atm, so don't have time to research it for you, but with a little bit of legal research skills, you'll be able to find it easily. I'm sure if you pay a lawyer they'll do it for you
  7. have a search, ther'es a good thread on it. answer is yes though
  8. have a search man. Generally around 4 d retard
  9. i'm not sure about this particular case, you'll hvae to muck aroudn with it more. all I can say, is i have never had good experience with 040s. they either get noisy related to heat, or they actually break. I've seen a few that have exhibited similar symptoms, and it was the pump - swapped with a nismo, and it was fixed.
  10. some cars have the fuel tank in the boot like the soarer, but that's not part of the passenger compartment. because the silvia is a hatch, i'd say no. e.g. you're not even supposed to carry a jerry can in the hatch or statino wagon.
  11. have a search about plugs man. I've done a conclussive post on the one to get, about thread gaps etc
  12. that's your problem. the 040s don't like hot fuel. 1/4 tank, fuel is recirculating and getting heated. Get a different pump like a gtr pump or tomei pump or wire in a circuit to cut voltage.
  13. probably your coilpacks have a search man. People have answered these sorts of questions a fair amount, so they usually can't be bothered giving a decent answer
  14. Motul 8100 5w40 ->$52 ELF Excellium fully synth ->$45 No i'm not a trader advertising lol. You'll be suprised the prices you can get if you let your local autobarn owner know your intention. I.e. I'm interested in buying oil. Next time you put your order in, i'm willing to buy a box (3bottles)if you're willing to give me a good price Edit: forgot to say - that's for 5L not 1
  15. those turbos (if they are even real) are just sitting there
  16. have a search man, a topic was done on this not even 1 day ago
  17. I am very concerned with the safety of myself. Dropping my car is my biggest fear. From reading my replies to the trolley jack thread, you can see i don't skimp on safety. I have 3 big trolley jacks, and 2 small ones. Normally when I jack the front of the car up, it gets one big trolley jack in the middle of the member, 2 stands on either side of the big jack on the member, and 2 small trolley jacks under various points. I would put the others under there too, but then there's not enough room to work on the car. If I have the car up on 4, I use 4 stands. I still have one big jack in the middle of the cross member too. I also chuck a big jack under the diff, and I chuck the 2 small jacks to the side. I'll just use the last big jack under something random just for safety, incase if my other 4 stands and 4 jacks fail. hahaha.
  18. sarnil, your guess is as good as ours mate. try doing the sparkies. wont' take long. Also, make sure everything is plugged in properly. If your cas isn't connected or is broken, it won't start.
  19. t04gtr, like you, I don't like the boschs for the same reasons. People are always like buy the bosch, buy the bosch. There is absolutely no advantage buying a bosch over others (except a slight price difference, whcih is diminished when you have to buy 2 040s in 2 months) unlike others who have found that they dimish when they get hot, we've replaced a few that have actually broken.
  20. have a search. i've posted up links with wiring charts etc.
  21. Touchdown!!!! the winner is sydney!!!! wooohhooo another person has said the RIGHT thing instead of telling people to go off and buy a f**king $30 jack!! Would ou trust your life on a $30 jack for heavens sake. Of course not. Not to mention, those cheap ones are: 1. small and not strong. 2. shit quality 3. can't jack high enough to put stands under. buy a snap on one, and keep it for life. PS: to the other guy that said get stands - even when my car was stock, it couldn't get onto them. Waste of money. Half the things you need the wheel off anyways - can't use stands for that. e.g. suspensions etc. Cheers
  22. remap = winner
  23. snap on themselves are the ones that sell snap on. if you call em up, then you can arrange it. they sell via mobile salesmen in vans and trucks.
  24. Haha, yeah, i know mate. If I told you i'd have to kill you
  25. You could have taken up my offer to install it for you before Also, if you knew what i'm not allowed to say about the gtr pump, you'd think twice about that
