  1. I forgot the part number fro the tank seal, but it was around 17$ rrp (cheaper trade) from memory. No point even trying to find aftermarket for that price.
  2. haha. a hose clamp is $1.99 man, I paid $3, lol, but i was at supercheap auto today, the size is 032.
  3. that's sick! how big is that mofo? that's massive!!
  4. Haha, ok, what i did, is you could say the sock faces the wrong way. i did use the clip. Basically, the sock still points down, just slightly backwards. When I stuck it down into the tank, it still sticks down to the lower part of the tank anyways. No problem with low fuel (having said that, I normally fill up at about a quarter tank - I don't go down to the empty light. but even the empty line is fine on my car). If you want the sock the right way, and use the clip, you could just bend the bracket out slightly, or space the pump out a bit with some efi hose. From the looks of your thing, even a couple mm would help it clear. But I don't think it'll come off even without the clip. I can't believe that you cut the bottom of your backet off. There's enough room after you just trim the top barb back a bit. lol. I like that part, because from a mechanical point of view, imo, it would stop the pump sliding down. If I was you, I'd add another hose clamp on (yes I know it's clamped to the hose above). Like I said, I like things perfect, and i am anal.
  5. so what's wrong with your tank gasket? mine was fine. I just popped it back in. You mean the ring that goes aroudn the top of the tank
  6. Yep, my sock is the wrong orientation. + terminal next to the bracket. I pushed it until it goes click. I don't see any problem with it coming off anyways een without the clip. coz it was pretty tight. it 'clicked' in
  7. I have mine attached still using the bottom part of the bracket. For me, cutting the top pipe was enough. I have the sock clipped on. I did it when the tank was full, so couldn't see how far down it went, but it felt the same as when i had taken it out. Are you sure it's not all the way down? is that how it was when you took it out? if it's fouling, give the bracket a bit of a bend.
  8. actually, is it meant to go down until that metal (groin area) sits flush with the plastic? if so mine's not that low.
  9. I pushed mine down as far as it could, but didn't see if it actually went all the way down (it did seem more down then yours though. I had my pump oriented differently I think. Is your + terminal right next to the bracket? that's how i had mine.
  10. hang on ben. I'm a bit confused. did you cut the bottom of your bracket off? When I installed my gtr pump, you know that metal pipe up the top? I had to cut that up (so I used to next nipple to clamp the hose). The pump was significantly taller. that way, I could still have the pump sitting on rubber, sitting on that bottom part of the bracket. That's why I was asking if you had cut the bottom off yours
  11. hey silver I have a r34 gtr pump right here, and yes, it does have the valve up the top near the terminals. just piss that stupid ground off. I chucked it out, and it functions perfectly.
  12. nissan - $40 for a genuine one. don't get aftermarket ones. a/m ones are $10 each, but they're really crap. they blow like there's no tomorrow
  13. Speak to my friend ray 'GT-shortie' about compression. I would say don't lower compression unless you need to. i.e. if you're only hoping to achieve 250 rwkw, don't lower compression. you'll make less power, be slower, less response everything. ray will tell you about it.
  14. I agree about cutting off the tabs. I do that too. You can use hose clamps mate. I have 2 hose clamps on the pump in my car. I'm pretty sure that the wire on the side of the pump isn't for dual stage. It is just a ground. The reason I know this, is 32,33 and 34 pumps all have that extra side ground. I didn't install the side ground for my car, and I do get the 2 stage. On idle, it's soft. If I blip the throttle, it goes louder. Cheers Chris
  15. I have lost the link when my computer died, but i had a really good explanation article on the way octane boosters work. By putting octane booster, it won't be the same as buying 98.3 octane fuel. The method they use to increase the octane isn't the same thing. If you want to increase the octane rating, i'd use tolulene instead.
  16. octane booster is really useless. It will boost octane by .x of a rating. e.g. maybe 0.3 ron. IMO, octane boosters do more harm then good, because the majority of them boost octane the wrong way.
  17. In the 32 gtr, the pump sits on the bottom of the tank, so it is definitely fine for it to be submerged in fuel. In the 34s, it is also submerged in fuel. The difference with the 34 is just that it sits up near the top, so that it needs a longer pickup. You are correct in saying that the pickup on the gtr pump is different in the sense that it has a long hose wiht the filter on the bottom. It is no biggy. You can either use that, so that it sits lower in the tank. or swap it with your pickup. The 32gtr pickup is very similar to the r33 gtst pickup. gtr pumps are all the same. That is evidence to show that either style is fine. The strap on the side of the pump is a ground. I don't bother using those. It's easy mate
  18. haha, as long as you're not talking to the cops, then that's alright mate.
  19. nice question mate. there's one threaad not even one page old. i'll answer your question. pop it in, turn the knob.
  20. I've been testing the hks actuator, and I have reservations about it. I'm compiling some boost graphs atm.
  21. Did you not read what i said - learn to help yourself. 34 is the same as 33. If you can't comprehend that, then pay someone to install it for you.
  22. no point hackingn that metal gasket. I don't like those gasket goos. gasket paper works perfectly, and it's not as messy.
  23. BINGO! that's spot on the money. that's the way i do them too. It's easy to get the line off from under the car once you take the oil line off. you don't even have to take the oil line off - you can do it with the oil line on, but it makes it a lot easier.
  24. wire it off the door sensor. the sensor grounds the circuit when the door is open. so hook your light to power, and the ground to the door sensor. it works.
  25. From my experience, and other's results, it seems to be the early early. as in, early month 89s. iv'e seen many later month 89 models with the 24s. Jez, you're lucky mate. slam the 25 turbo straight in. Yeah baby!
