  1. GTR pump sold. All other for sale stuff has been consolidated into this thread. heaps more new stuff.
  2. 235 45 r17 How do you gauge tread? Any one who tells you oh, it's got 50%, 30%, 70% they're just guessing. Edit: I just had a look at the tyres. They have about 3 or so mm on all of them. There aren't any bald spots. Not really any inner or outer wear - it's quite even. There is heaps of tread. I've bought a set of semis like this and used it for a few trackdays before and it still had more to go.
  3. Hey guys Clearing out the shed atm. I have: 1 x vg30 compressor and exhaust housing. You can have the cartridge too if you like. $400. 2 x rb25 compressor and exhaust housings. You can have the cartridge too if you like. $200. I'm located in sydney, but I can easily post it to you. If you like, call me on 0403 211 482.
  4. Comrpession is fine - look for variance, not absolute figures, because that varies. That was the worst mistake you made in not taking the powerfc. Did you try and skimp him, by making a low offer so he goes yeh, you can have it but i'm keepign the powerfc? Now you have to buy a powerfc (1500$) + 500 for a tune - 2k. You get what you pay for.
  5. You get what you pay for - that's what it comes down to. I wouldn't want an alarm installed for anywhere near that. Think about it this way - you want it installed for $50? i'll give you $50 worth of time - 1/2 hour $100 - 1 hour $150? 1.5 hours.
  6. only the tyres are for sale. seriously, these are cheap guys, semis are normally worth about $400 EACH!!! in 16", 17' are worth more. these are all 4 of them. none are down to the belt. They all have tread left. Get em, and fire em up and find out what semis are like before going out spending 1600+ for a set!
  7. buyer has pulled out, it's still for sale
  8. Bump, If someone wants to offer a decent part as a trade, you're more than welcome.
  9. you are right in saying that they feel slow. My car has very low ks on it, and it's like this. same as my friends who has a brand new just jap box in it ($3200). It's just the way they are.
  10. torquing those bolts is not that important. I just did mine up with a screw driver carefully. If you think about it, it's pretty hard to overtorque a screw using a screwdriver. you have no leverage on it. Just make sure you use a good screwdriver, and dont' strip the screw. I used a good one, and didn't mark the screw at all.
  11. Hi Ben RB 20 and 25 actuators can have different part numbers on them. There is a secret way of identifying them If you pm me a pic, I can tell you which one it is.
  12. Circuit club also don't charge for spectators, which I feel is very important. Spectating is a great way to be introduced to track driving as a whole, introduced to a track if you haven't driven on that particular one, or introduced to how a particular organisation runs a track day. Some people (such as myself) err on the cautious side. Spectating is great promotion for the company, because once the people see how fun it is, they'll want to enter nexttime. e.g. I was thinking about spectating at the sau drift day, but i was turned away by the entry fee. I was with ray at the last circuit club trackday spectating, and the day was run very well. Much better than initial drift trackdays. Somethings that I observed were: The people there are very nice people. They are genuine car enthusiasts, and are willing to help you out with advice/fix your car if it's broken etc. There aren't really many bogans driving shitboxes out there, so it's fairly safe. Having said that, there was a crazy person driving an s2000 that kept spinning, but everyone else was very sensible. There are no bogans on the hill spectating like at initial drift events. Also, initial drift charge you for spectating The organisers of the event are very friendly, and speak nicely to you, considering YOU ARE THE PEOPEL WHO PAY THEM! In contrast, at the intial drift trackday, you get some nazi speaking to the group like you act stupid, I send you home, you spin out, I send you home, you crash someone, I send you home. There is no need to act all tough making himself look like a penis head, when that stuff is common sense, and it really detracts from the experience.
  13. Hey matey, My mate's one is still available. I asked him what is the best price he'd do it for (tried to make him do it for 100) but he said he's got a lot of work to pay for on the car, so 150 posted is the best he'd do. If you're interested, shoot us a pm. Cheers Chris
  14. As a matter of interest, how muhc was it, and where did you order it from? I know that the tomei pumps also come with the anti reversion valve, new tank seal, hose clamps, pump, and bracket. Did the nismo pump also come with the bracket/cradle? or did it fit the stock bracket? would you by any chance have taken a picture?
  15. oh yeah. those fibreglass ones are light as. if you had a set of struts for the steel bonnet, pulling down the fibre one would probably snap it in 2 before the bonnet closes. lol
  16. definitely do em up. I've found that the rb cam cover screws are notorious for working themselves loose. Half of the cars that have oil seeps/leaks from the cam cover actually have gaskets that are still in good condition, just that the screws were loose. My car was one of those - i was prepared to buy new gaskets, and change em, but decided to check the torque first. Some of them could be undone with your finger.
  17. damn, omaru, didn't realise you had a gtr. I have reason to believe that the r33 gtrs are different in the side of the bonnet area, so the tein gtr kits might not actually fit. I have inspected r32s, and the gtr and gts are the same at the side, but haven't compared r33s. If you're free at some stage, do you reckon you could take a picture of the edge underneath side of the bonnet,a nd also the side of the engine bay (whole length shot please so we get an idea of the context.
  18. not only are our cars old, but chances are half of them would have run an oiled pod at some stage in life, half of them would have been cleaned using something nasty like brake cleaner, or something instead of crc contact cleaner etc etc. Things break, that's life. e.g. coilpacks - break. that could actually be the cause of your misfire. They're just a maintenance thing, just like anything else.
  19. PS: omaru - one more thing that i thought of - strut clearance. the gap to the side of the bonnet is quite small. I did test fit by just putting some struts in there and they do fit. but, as i'm sure you're aware, you just need to get the thin ones, not the fat ones (like a subaru liberty wagon rear, or soarer front). something like a falcon au front, or n15 pulsar rear fits. also, the bracket will need to position it so it doesn't foul in either direction
  20. omuru - spot on the money. That's just as i had shown in the pics above. Good thing that you've got an r33, so I might be able to pursuade you to make another set In relation to bracket strength - have a look at the tein ones - theyr'e pretty thin - looks like 1.5-2mm steel. Yeah, basically, imo, all you'd need to do is cut a flat sheet out to the right shape to bolt onto the bracket without fouling, then weld the ball to the side - once again, without it fouling. If you have a look at monroe ones, or ones from other cars, the brackets are always really thin. strength dodesn't really seem to be too much of an issue. You're right about needing a ball with the right thread (some cars have the right thread, I checked this at the wreckers - check it out, any car, even tail struts. I just took a spanner around to heaps of cars and checked them - I noticed 2 sizes - big and small. See, like if we can find which car to take struts from, then it'll be easy - just cutting a bracket and welding a ball on it. We might actually be suprised and find one that fits wihtout mods. e.g. might have the right ball thread, might be the right length and gas. or it might have a bracket on it that just needs to be trimmed or something. I'd prefer not to gas, because those gassing guys are pricks. There are 3 main ones in sydney and they charge 80-100 for 10 seconds worth of time.
  21. pm ben - told him i sent ya
  22. I think you don't stand on anything. The plugs - sure, were a bit cold maybe. it wouldn't have stuffed your afm. These cars are old. stuff like that can break. they're cheap anyways - how much did you pay for the afm? $100 for a second hand one? 150? I'd just try my luck and say do the next service for free or something. PS: by even pursuing it, you're wasting your time (not their fault anyways), move on
  23. walbro pumps are rated at 255 L/hour, but in tests, at the voltages our pumps run (not at like 16-17 volts) and at the pressures we run, flow is no where around that. Govic, for the stock turbo, pretty much any pump will do. We're going for more power. Jase, looks like i'll be going for the tomei too. Food for thought for you guys - the nismo and tomei pumps are both top notch products. However, which one is better, flows more, cheaper etc Now that's a fun one
