  1. when you pull them apart, there's literally nothing to see at all. you've just got the wheels, oil section, water section. Very primative sort of thing. you'd be better off researching about turbo technology e.g. different wheels, shafts, bearings etc on google.
  2. the plug is under the carpet. don't disconenct it. A light will come on. Just bring it back up through thte floor and tuck it under the carpet.
  3. Yes, I have fitted one to an r34 gtt. Similar process as r33. The hicas light on the dash comes up. The remedy is to take the bulb out. Fixed!
  4. check out the group buy section. Precision turbos highflow 1550. It is still ball bearing, like the stock turbo. Sliding perfromance have highflows for about 1k, but they're not ball bearing. Plus, you have to modify your oil lines, so it's not striaght bolt on
  5. I've sent mine back to kezza. It has the writting on it. I sent it back orginal condition. I'm sure they all have the same writing on them.
  6. He said he didn't have much money though. When money's tight, i wouldn't go for the highflow. The highflows flow significantly more, and they'll set you back quite a bit more money (even the slide ones). If you want to actually use your highflow, you'll need fuel pump (you've got), tune, injectors etc. Just buy a second hand one in good nick and put it in.
  7. search for a thread by wogsrus. I put in all the details about sparkplugs in there. I personally prefer a different one than the one sid is using. Reason is in the thread.
  8. you can't compare boost v boost for different turbos. Boost is a measure of restriction. At 16 psi, a stock turbo would flow x cfm. a slide would flow y cfm. A 3540 would flow z cfm.
  9. I've had mixed reactions. some people reckon don't do it, or you'll release crap which can block oil galleries. I personally used it in my skyline when I first got it. Motor was perfectly clean anyways. had always been run on synth oil after run in (I bought it off a jap guy I knew). I've used it in my daily drive cars before too. No problems. It's really up to you.
  10. I disagree with you on that one. What's a few kw difference? You're talking 20 kw. The r34 weighs 50kg more. 50kg on a circuit is slower than a few extra kw here and there.
  11. That's a pretty funny question. I'll answer it. Yes
  12. Seriously man, what sort of a bs offer is that. The good thing that I like about the stuff that jerry sells, is he never sells crap stuff. It is always in near perfect/new condition. you're offering him 400 for a practically new fujitsibu?
  13. man, I don't think you'll get any decent replies to this thread. After people have answered the questino about 2-3 times, their reply gets shorter. After 5 times, it gets shorter again. In answer to your question. It's simply not worth even trying an rb20 at that level.
  14. agreed ^^
  15. Also, I've pmed jstyle inc too, no reply.
  16. I agree Jon. I asked him many times before I ordered you sure you sure you sure it fits sII because the cluster is different. I've kept all my pms. I literally asked about 5 times both over the course of this group buy and last group buy. he said yeh, definitely fits. People from last group buy had no problems. I was like ok, sure, i'll get em then.
  17. PS: the gcg turbos are great turbos. sydneykid has reached 265 rwkw on an rb25 (with cams). Without cams, It should do 240 easily. Whether it does it at 16 psi I don't know. Is there any reason why you're worried about putting an extra 1-2 psi into it? A vg30/gtt turbo gcg highflow will do it even easier with less boost.
  18. That's pretty bloody ridiculous if you ask me. Either there's someting wrong with that particular turbo (faulty bearing cartridge) or something wrong with all of the bearing cartriges that they use. Skylines running the stock turbos have done well over 150-200 000 ks still running the same turbo. Edit: I just htought of something else. Perhaps there might be a reason why your turbo has worn out so quickly. Do you have an oil supply problem? What oil do you use? brand and viscosity. How often do you change it? How much boost have you been running? how do you drive it? track? etc. I'm just suggesting that perhaps, you have a look to make sure that the motor itself and oil supply is actually ok, so that the new turbo deosnt' do the same thing.
  19. IT could be anything mate. Cut your losses and move on. Pick up an rb 20 for about 1k, dump that in and that's it. Or if you have time to pull your donk apart, go for it.
  20. apexi rev speed metre. Useless piece of rice go out and get yourself a nice meal. you can't buy much car stuff for $200. Fuel pump? maybe? except somethign ncie like a nismo replacement is about $370
  21. nah, not scary. You'll feel it. It'll be a bit quicker. Something like 250 rwkw will feel scary for a little while (then you'll want more).
  22. that's mad. I wonder how quick it feels compared to the stock turbo, how fast it accelerates, how many ks he gets etc
  23. you better fix it quick smart or you'll f**k your rack.
