  1. believe it or not, not all cable ties are resistant to petrol that's dodgy. I would have used stainless hose clamps
  2. for my car, changing the plugs dind't do anything. the thing about the cold start valve is interesting. i'll try look that up and do that. how did you find that the pcv valve wasn't working? lik ehow did you test it?
  3. is that why you're trying to adjust the idle? what problems were you having before you cleaned it? after you cleaned it, was the idle wrong?
  4. yeah, what ^^^ they said is right. don't do it for too long, because it gets hot and burns the oil
  5. yes, the other page is for adjusting it. did you clean out your aac valve? let me know how you go
  6. nathan at grey imports does it in sydney for like 110 or so. maybe take em out and send them to him.
  7. Actually, oops, I didn't write what I said above clearly. I agree with SK. if the clutch was slipping, the revs would rise like crazy bu the car won't move. so if it's not allowing it to rev, it's something else
  8. i reckon it's the clutch. IF it's slipping, it won't take load. once you try and hit boost the clutch will just slip in a big firey stinky mess and you won't move anywhere. a gt30 would kill an already worn stock clutch fairly quickly
  9. this has been done to death. have a search. also, this is hardly forced induction. I say condition matters. Age also matters. if a car is 89 v 93, at 4 years old, unless if it's parked in a bubble, it will be exposed to the environment for longer so it'll ahve more rust etc.
  10. yeah, that's what I meant guilt toy. I know it only just tips into positive pressure and makes a noise, but i think sam is saying it deosn't make any noise at all. yeah, you really just plant your foot down to the bottom up to like 6-7 k rpm then release
  11. Is it necessary for it to blow off in neutral though? if it doesn't have any problems with driving, like if it's quick, if she fangs, chirps seconds and does sik burnouts, then it's fine?
  12. well, what is the turbo you got fitted? if it's a bigger one/highflow, it won'nt do it anymore because it takes longer to spool. hr32 - the r ugly poos don't do it, beause of the 2L. can't spool the turbo in neutral
  13. nah, guilt toy, he is right. When my car had the stock turbo, if you floor it in neutral like up to 5k rpm and release it, the bov would sound pretty loud. Maybe your turbo is rooted
  14. wogs, my car does that too. I reckon it's the aac valve. I'm just waiting until the bloody thing is put back together, then i'll clean it. Turn key when it's col, revs drop really low. Sometimes, almost down to 0, and it actuall stalls. IF I blip it, then it'll kick up to 1200 then idle normally. Maybe give it a go and let me know what happens?
  15. Cef, notice anyhting different? Is it hard to diy?
  16. go to heasmans, they reall know their stuff. diagnosed a worn ball joint on the lower control arm in like 5 minutes of looking around on my friend's car. PS: what were you thinking driving around with tyres like that? You're lucky you didn't run into someone otherwise, guaranteed, your inurance wouldn't have paid out
  17. no, don't look there. That actually adjusts it. just look at the normal digital guage monitor to give you the reading and adjust it till your heart's content
  18. maybe, considering they spin so fast, since you chopped it, they might spin wonky. other than that, maybe the clutch is about to shit itself
  19. state rules vary
  20. the guy must have been pulped.
  21. nope. It never flutters anyways if it's working properly. All it does, is makes boost build quicker, and makes it a bit more jerky. not as smooth. hardly a problem
  22. As far as i'm aware, it is only temporary.
  23. Sam, maybe if you're still unsure after having read it again, you could read it again. lol. But in answer to your question, yes. lol
