  1. yeah, rb25 bovs also have the bleed hole.
  2. If you need an instruction manual for the kit, I wouldn't advise you doing it yourself (no offence, just practical advise)
  3. yeah, seriously, it's been ages. I remember paying for the bezzas and dials months ago
  4. nice, looks like i have to spend more money. grrrrr
  5. agreed tek. 98 an hour is a bit rich
  6. the water going up and down is normal. On my car, if I open the cap, after a while, it even starts spilling out
  7. I've added this thread to my favourites. I'll pm you later when I do my tune after I put the turbo in
  8. stanard bovs are good stuff.
  9. I'm running a gtr bov succesfully. Straight bolt in - bolts onto plenum. For the larger outlet of the gtr bov (flows more), I just used the gtr rubber hose over the gtst hose with a hose clamp r31nismoid - ash is running one with big power. Gt-shortie is also running one with a highflowed vg30 turbo. Gtr bovs are proven time and time again. In twin form on the rb26s, a lot of the crazy power gtrs are still running the pair.
  10. not important. I just tucked mine up through the floor. I don't even have a bung in the new cat
  11. My garage may not be the biggest garage there is, but i absolutely love it. My car loves it too. Did you guys see the news? all the poor cars that got hailed on
  12. L33igh, how did you end up going? Matty, my car still doens't have a turbo. I'll let you know when it does and we'll work something out.
  13. clicking is not enough power. Starter motor is clutching. The skylines do it very obviously (compared to some other cars).
  14. it's tight. you need small hands, or use needle nose pliers
  15. I'd do what your tuner is comfortable with doing. Heaps of people on the forums have made substantially more power than 225 rwkw on stock fuel injectors with a bit more rail pressure. There's no problem bumping the rail pressure up a bit etc (it is suspected that s15s run higher pressure) than our cars. That's why the injectors flow 440 cc on r33s, but 480 on s15s. I just wouldn't go running a million psi that's all.
  16. I agree with you mate. It's probably hard though since there are so many threads. Can I help you with anything in particular in relation to changing the fuel filter? Are you stuck somewhere?
  17. One of the cars I did had a gasket leak so loud that once you got onto boost, it started squeeling so crazily. The workshop will know when they do your turbo. There are things to look out for e.g. if there's black soot above a certain part of the manifold gasket, it's an exhaust leak there. The gaskets for pretty much all of the exhaust bits including turbo to manifold, front pipe (if you've still got stock 2 part one), cat etc will be checked and replaced if needed too. should be right
  18. It should be fine in terms of pinging. As to how much power you make, that depends. Once you go above the airflow that the ecu recognises, it goes ultra rich and retards timing to about 8-9 degrees. Keep in mind that you idle at about 10 degrees, so that means once you hit r + r, you get shitall power
  19. If it's audible, it's most likely not something small like a vacuum line. Something like that won't really be audible from inside the car. Especially since most of our cars have exhausts air filter mods etc etc. I'd put my money on one of the gaskets (they're loud as). maybe turbo to manifold gasket, manifold gasket, front pipe gasket, dump gasket, either cat gasket etc. There are heaps of gaskets.
  20. What mechanical experience do you have? What is the biggest thing you've done on the car? have you ever done the turbo before? Do you have car stands? Decent trolley jack? Good socket set and spanners? breaker bar? 24mm socket? 24mm spanner? Once you take the turbo off, you'll need new coolant too (about $50). Got a lock up garage? Is it your only car? can you affor dto have the car off the road for 2 weeks? Do you have time, or can you only work on it on the weekends? Keep in mind part shops mostly open weekdays only. Not doubting you in anyway, but just tryin gto make sure you understand what you're getting yourself into. Things always take longer than you expect
  21. No worries at all man. petrol is my preferred cleaner. Why do you think? Becayuse your car eats petrol! whatever is in there is just a tiny bit of fumes. Just air it out for a day or so, it'll be good.
  22. I wouldn't paint it. It probably won't hold, and it'll just burn and flake off. Sure, sandblast it, but it'll just rust again in no time., Most likely your manifold will have warped and probably won't seal on, so you might have to get the mating surface machined.
  23. They're the shittest thing in the world. Do a trackday or something and it'll probably crack. Wrap it with heat wrap and it'll probably crack 5 times quicker.
  24. Depends what it involves man. E.g. whether he can just use an easy out with everything still in the car, or whether all th eintake piping has to come off, turbo off, manifold off too. Why do you care if a stud is broken? Is it leaking exhaust gas?
  25. it's the only blue relay in the boot
