  1. I would honestly be suprised if you actually have a problemw ith the stock battery terminal clamps. Even though you might have modified them. e.g. in my car, i've fitted a sealed lead acid battery. It doesnt' even have posts on the battery. What I did was turn the terminal sideways and put a bolt through the side of it. That's perfect. Since my car has always ran a sealed battery, i haven't had problems with corroded terminals. The terminals themselves are fine, corrosion is not. Whenever peopel see gains replacing terminals, it's usually because they have an under the bonnet battery that isn't sealed and has splashed acid all over the terminals and it has rusted out and not conducting electricity very well.
  2. The first step you should do is hit search. If you did a search, you'd get much better responses. After most people post the same response more than 10 times, the post gets shorter and shorter... exhaust, intake, ecu, boost controller, cam gears, fuel pump, 300 hp probably equals highflow turbo.
  3. Fatz, haven't seen you posting much mate We haven't seen r sirty wan number one for ages.
  4. Do it right, do it once You can do it. Motivational thread for jase. go jase go jase go jase
  5. Awesome Sam. No worries about leading us astray. You weren't leading us astray at all. You tried to get us a good product at a good price. It just turns out that it's not for the faint hearted, that's all
  6. seriuosly, just because it doesn't schpinny first doesen't mean it's not fully sik. If you want it to shpin, you need more power. Does she fang good? does she chirp seconds?
  7. All I can say is... the government....
  8. Hahaha, that's hilarious. Once, I went really fast on my bike as a kid, and I nearly shat myself. I seirously thought I was going to die. It was a massive hill, and I was going 80 ks on my little speedo thing. It was actually pretty accurate (tested next to mum's car). I was too scared to hit the brakes in case if I unsettled the bike. If I fell off, I woulda been skinned alive. Even the little bumps on the road almost made the bike lose control. Stupid times. lol
  9. looks nice. I wonder which engine and things nissan decided to use
  10. man, wish lotus would donate one to me
  11. you're out of luck. I sold mine like a year ago. It was in perfect nick. not a single scratch or swirly in the paint. cheap too.
  12. seriuosly, for a decently setup car. like if you have decent tyres, and not completely worn suspensions, it won't spin the tyres with that little power. When I used to have 200 rwkw, it dind't spin the tyres.
  13. jaycar ebc. best I've ever had
  14. pm xizor about the mtecs. They last a few weeks then blow.
  15. Those bulbs are shit. They'll just blow in a few weeks. White light is a trade off. They get the white light by placing a blue filter over the bulb which filters out yellow light. Considering that with halogen bulbs, the majority of the light is yellow, you lose a lot of light output. The whiter/bluer you go, the less light it is. Bulb makers try and compensate by using 100 watt bulbs. They WILL damage your light switch, wirinng and melt the housing, and plug. They also fill the bulb with xenon gas and overpower the filament. As a result, the bulb doesn't last as long. With lighting, it's a trade off. If you want long life and good light output, get standard phillips bulbs. They'll last ages and have decent light output. If you want more light, get the phillips/narva plus 50s. The narvas are about $25 for the pair. They put out about 50 % more light than standard bulbs. They run xenon gas inside and overpower the filament. AS a result, they're brighter, but don't last as long. They still last a decent amount of time becuase they're a quality bulb. They're a tiny bit whiter, because they're brighter, but they're still yellow in the scheme of things. If you must go for white bulb, go for the phillips blue visions/narva artic blue. They're about $50 for the pair. They are the same as a plus 50 bulb, except they have a blue filter. So they put out 50% more light, which is cut back by the filter. So the light is white - almost a pure white. Theiy're still a bit brighter than stock. PS: hid kits are not your friend. they're crap SAU really needs a lighting section with FAQ. I'd be happy to write all the guides etc.
  16. yeah, it's because you're hotter than the temp it's set to. So it blasts as quick as possible to get the temp down. once it gets down to what you've set it to, it'll slow down
  17. 2-3 hours to remove a stock turbo is decent time. You probably won't come into problems removing the turbo. The thing is, nothing EVER goes according to plan. I always plan for the worst. If you break bolts, if things don't line up etc, if you do something stupid and blow your motor. You're bound to need to buy stuff during the install that you didn't know that you needed. Things that are planned to take 2 weeks can end up taking more. I took my turbo out about a month ago expecting to receive the highflow the following week and install it. It's been about a month now, and my battery almost went flat twice. I had to plug a charger on. I simply believe that if a car is your only car, firstly, you shouldn't mod it. Even if you take it to a workshop, they can run into complications, but they're generally better equipped to handle them. They have more spare parts, and also, they want to get your car out of there, so they work efficiently. Having said that, Sometimes, I have had to go home and get my car the next day because they need parts. Trying to do something yourself is even worse. Especially if you've never done it before. If you're going to need the car to go to work on monday, I simply believe that it's not a good idea to start an install on saturday thinking that you can finish it by monday. If you need a part or break something, who's actually open on the weekend? Worse thing is, if you get stuck, you can no longer take it to the workshop
  18. The good catch cans are the useful ones, that is, the functional ones. Not really the rice ones. Sure those chrome cylindrical ones look good, but they're just rice. you can't open them. the type you want is the one with the allen key top how you can open it. Then you can put baffling in and steel wool so it actually filters something.
  19. Also depends on what power you're going for. For anything up to about 260-270 rwkw, something like a highflow seems to be the general consensus. If you can afford it, I beleive the better solution is a hks gtrs kit. STraight bolt on, perfect. They're a bit more expensive though. 2500$. If you want more power then that you really have to start going custom, like gt30r, gt3040 etc. The t04 that you're thinking about is in no way a straight bolt in mod. They're not that expensive, but the fab is what kills it
  20. yeah right. As if. there are so many of them. Collectors item or not, i'd much rather buy the latest car then as opposed to an old car. just like now. would you prefer an ae86? or a skyline
  21. I would still change it in case if it pops later. Big hassle. I don't know if I just have small arms, but we didn't have that much trouble getting it out. Was a while, but I don't see it taking longer than about 20 minutes
  22. It's not that easy mike, coz jase is getting the line replaced as part of the turbo install. Also, I'd replace that rubber hose at the back. Someone recently, forgot who it was had the hose blow (they're' 10 years old afterall). Better do it now while the turbo is off. Imagine if it blows in 6 months time and having to do it with the turbo on! If you cut the line, keep in mind that the cooling system is under pressure (up to 0.8bar). Without a bead around the line, the hose can possibly blow off. Imagine having the line blow off on a hot day as you're driving along the freeway. bye bye engine
  23. 100% reliable. I trust my life on it everytime I drive it
  24. metal filings are not really an issue wiht that particular hose. That is just a coolant hose, so ti's just the cooling system - just water. Ther'ell be plentny of shit in there anyways, like everytime I dropped the coolant in my daily driver (not my skyline), there's all rust, and crap that comes out. Don't get metal in the oil lines though. Totally different story
