  1. Once you go black, you can never go black. Purple is the new black anyways....
  2. May I ask why it HAS to be an external gate? Generally, the external gate turbos are fairly large ones. You've said that you want a reasonable responsive one - tha'ts a bit of an issue, especially with the rb20 isn't it. The best information you can give, is how much power you want to achieve, then we can tell you which turbo will make that power, and how laggy it will be on the 20 A GCG rb25 highflow can make 250-260 rwkw on a 25 a GCG vg highflow can make up to 270-280 (i've done 310 rwkw with it). I can't see how you could possibly want more power than that. My personal all round pick would be the 25 GCG highflow
  3. you should be able to see it - there aren't many gaps, but if you grab a torch, you should just be able to see it. alternatively, read the numbers off the rear exhaust housing for me. rb25 turbo = 21u vg30 = op6 ugly poo = something I forgot
  4. can't tell from that angle man. Get me the number off the comp housing. rb25 turbo = nissan 45v. r ugly poo = nissan motors 16v Most likely its an ugly poo turbo because you see that locking tab on the turbo - mani nut? looks untouched
  5. fc datalogit
  6. got one that I took from my gtr seat. Make an offer
  7. I'll just add something that hasn't been said yet. In all the time that i've r + r turbos, I've only ever seen this once. Its very rare, and seems to be confined to the very early 32s. i.e. Jan/Feb 1989 - even march didn't have this issue. The very early 32s had 22mm water banjos. The later 32s and 33s and 34s have 24 mm banjos. The water lines on the earlier 32s are different. If this is the case, you migh tneed the water lines too, or just the ends of the water lines.
  8. Bingo! Finally, people are saying the same thing that I am. I've done a lot of research in this area guys. I used to regularly post how bad these aftermarket kits are. People would post bad stuff about me like - you don't know what you're talking about, etc. Return the kits. Either get yourself a set of decent bulbs, or do a retrofit. Only possible option.
  9. Huge? are you used to driving a barina or something? Turning circle is hardly a factor i'd decide whether a car is good or not. I mean, I have a skyline - same gear. I have never found it a PROBLEM. e.g. I don't go oh shit, ran out of steering lock when trying to park... In answer to your question, yes you can
  10. machining the inner part of a pipe should haev no effect on making an exhaust leak sound. I'm guessing that gaskets were not replaced, or botls are lose. Get them to do it properly
  11. It's strange how these slide threads keep getting deleted. There was this issue with the highflows a while back.
  12. Yeah, it was fairly difficult wasn't it!
  13. Birnie, that absolutely sucks man. Where abouts in castle hill is it? is it near the koala park thingy? I know that there are a couple cameras in castle hill. I don't go there often though so I can't pin point exactly where they are. Believe me mate, i'm on your side. Totally get what you're saying about if a cop pulled you over. 70 is hardly speeding - even down a hill it could roll up to 70. I mean if you said you were doing 100, then that's intentional, but 70 is hardly intentional. Was it a fixed camera? shoulda been 3+ signs before it. Or was it a porta-revenue-raiser? Were you actually doing about 70? e.g. could the camera be wrong?
  14. Hey Anton Sarkis' 'group buy' did go ahead in a sense, but it wasn't really a group buy as such. It was pretty much - those are the prices, take your turbo down there and get it done at your own will. I knew a few people who went ahead with sarkis' buy who borrowed housings off me so their car wouldn't be off the road for as long I saw some of the turbos that came back and they are a great piece of work. Nice work organising this buy. I might be in touch with you/john shortly - got a some projects that I might building
  15. there are, but they're quite expensive e.g. HKS make some straight bolt on kits. The highflow seems to be the best valued option without compromising on quality
  16. Haha, I was only kidding too matey
  17. Same as mine. My idle is rough always - hot or cold. I was just thinking that since I've already done the AAC and it didn't help, the cold start valve is the next thing for me to clean. My aac was black inside, but it wasn't jammed or anything. After cleaning it, it was spotless, but it didn't change anything - which means it was working fine to start off with.
  18. No aftermarket hid kit is good, whether it be 4000k or 6000k. I would advise against it.
  19. I totally agree with you about the integrated brake light. I've got a factory gtr spoiler, and the fitment is just perfect. Those aftermarket fibre ones dont' 'fit perfectly, don't have the brake light etc. I do likek the carbon ends and blade, but I reckon they're too expensive for what they are
  20. I personally love it. The r33 gtr wing is my favourite spoiler style. Not copmletely over the top (e.g. an aluminium T wing). But it is decently large enough.
  21. Some cars do put out decent power. For example, when I was looking for my car, this nice TRD supra came up - 800 bhp. There's the nismo 400r and the ztune - I understand that these power levels are nowhere near what you said though.
  22. AAC didn't help me. I'm going to give my cold start valve a go
  23. Not necessarily a fob asian. I know plenty of fob euros/white people who talk like that - my friend from germany as an example. 20 000 ks is massive. Keymaker, I agree with you about driving style. Mods too - my car is fairly rich at the moment. When I do my oil change, the oil stinks of fuel, so it must be getting diluted by fuel. That's why I change it fairly often.
  24. CDA - the tint on your car looks way darker than legal anyways - is that 5%-15% VLT? At the end of the day, there will always be things that they can pick on...
  25. I've found that to be a problem with SOME split dump fronts. For most of them, they just have a flat flange with two holes cut into it - 1 for the wastegate, one for the exhaust gas. Doesn't leave a lot of room for the flap
