now it wont start at all cleaned the plugs that were fouled up its getting fuel and spark and i have installed new plugs new fuel , ic piping is all good and yeah i think the afm is stuffed but it should run alright with the afm unplugged upto 2500 il try new fuel filter, afm and clean the aac valve would it run with no aac vavle(aac unplugged)

hey im hoping somone on here can help me. I have a rb20det i have had sitting for a year or so now ive finally decided to get it going. It is hard to start sounds like it wants to fire but wont and when it does it just coughs and splutters . the only way to rev it is tapping the accelerator on and off lightly or it will backfire and die. When trying to rev it studders and has crazy backfires it alsowont rev higher than 2500 if you can manage to get it that farwhich i think is limp mode. I beleive its running rich as it fouls the injectors and blows black smoke can anyone help or have any ideas cheers
