  1. mona, did it have a stock head gasket or a metal?
  2. I'm with Craved on this one, shift lights can be useful. 4000rpm and nothing but wheelspin does mean that the tacho needle moves to 8000rpm faster than anyone could see.
  3. wanna pull mine out then chris?
  4. But but but, if RB30 bottom ends are so good, then why can't I get a crate engine with an RB30 bottom end shipped from Japan? (innocent look) No one will do it for me! They all say something along the lines of, "Are you stupid?" (innocent look) (...stupid for asking them to build it, not stupid for asking them to build one and send it) Seriously though, I'd like to hear someone that is all for RB30's tell me why they're better. I have no idea. ..uhm..so as not to hijack mona's thread, this is for your benefit too moonie
  5. OUCH! and oi Chris.. You might provide the cable ties, but remember I'm the one that does the tieing! oh, and I'm with thomas RB26!
  6. Cheers Duncan
  7. Anyone got photo's of where their fire extinguishers are? Gonna make up a bracket tomorrow but haven't seen the fire extinguishers we're getting.
  8. I hear deaf people.....
  9. spotted a dark blue 33 GTST series 2 on Newline Road this morning. It had powerplay stickers on the rear quater windows. I waved while the guy stared ... I was the white car with the cf bonnet on purchase rd waiting to turn right.
  10. how's the saying go? "You're only as old as the girl you feel..." so that makes me, what, 19? w00t
  11. is ok.. He got out and punched her in the face.
  12. spotted no one again this morning... Some family. No one ever waves
  13. meh... I still remember when I use to see fuel at 69c and thinking, nah, I'll just drive really sedately for another week... I'd wait till it got back down to 60c.. It's expensive now, but eh, there's nothing we can do.
  14. Happy Birthday Chris! sif he wants mods, he wants clothes and shoes
  15. Undercover Highway patrol use 10% tint....
  16. If your car was built before August 1990 when the law came into effect then technically you can get a pink slip (sans dodgey mechanic) with darker than 35% tint. BUT that's not to say counstable (<--why do I keep hearing that word a different way ) joe schmo won't defect you for it. Also it seems alot of pink slip mechanics don't get out the tint tester anyway. o/t: Br3tt, I would absolutely hate driving on your driveway!!! If my driveway was built that way with those angles I'd kick my landscaper in the NUTS!
  17. learn to drive.... do an advanced driver couse. That'll teach you how to control your car. Trust me a near-to-stock 32 GTST has plenty of traction....
  18. My g/f's r32 had the 1000rpm - 2000rpm idle hunt going on for awhile. I pulled the AFM off and cleaned it. That didn't fix the problem. Finally we took it to a mechanic, within minutes he diagnosed the IACV as the problem.. Pulled it off and reco'd it, then popped it back on. Immediately the hunt was gone, BUT the car was still idling at 1000rpm.... Turns out the other idle solenoid (not sure what it's called, the one that is partly hidden by the intake manifold) was broken. Once replaced with a new part everything was good again. So if anyone else out there is having the same issue and finds this thread like I did, check you IACV as well as the AFM.
  19. They also have the exhaust wrap stuff, heat repellent tape, and that heat repelent stuff that you slip over all the hoses. I just cbf'd searching their site. I don't think tht exhaust wrap comes with the copper wire that you use to secure the wrap... Have you seen mine? They did it in a X all the way up and down the dump. hmmm I don't really have a photo of it. Here's a shot that shows the hidden wastegate.. The thing that's out of focus is the dumpy with the heatwrap.. You can kinda see the copper wire there. http://www.notonmonday.com/images/myupgrad...%20(Medium).JPG
  20. silver... Rocket has everything you want. I think they have a retail store in Blacktown, the head office is in Eastern Creek (but I think they only sell wholesale there). They have every possible kind of heat wrap material that you can think of.. Heat reflective shit to wrap around small pipes, Heat repellent shit to stick over cold air boxes, etc etc etc... Rocket is where my mech got all my stuff from. They've got this stuff and lots more at the Blacktown store: http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/search....6amp%3B+Heating

    Darkest legal tint is 35%
  24. Answer: The new ones are not ugly with the exception of the R series. Also Thinkpads have the best feeling keyboard out of any laptop I've used or certified (and I've certified everything from Toshiba's to Dell's to HP's) for clients. The quality of the thinkpads far surpasses anything else. Strength, usability, looks (sans R series) all awesome. Price however isn't........
  25. LOL! I work for IBM and can point anyone that wants an IBM thinkpad in the direction of a website that'll give you cheaper prices than elsewhere.. Although they are still more expensive than Dell's... So maybe go buy a Dell... I'm also part owner of W&B Automotive Photography (website being redesigned, currently offline), soooo if anyone wants pro editorial quality photo's taken of their car/s printed large, then I'm your man.
