  1. Which car park at Castle Towers and where? The original (old) cinema car park, or the new cinema car park? Looks like what they've tried to do is push that button on the drivers side which unlocks the passenger door. Disable this switch asap if you haven't already. Take the door trim off and cut the wires.
  2. LOL! and bwahahahaha ruk!! There's lots of girls. Hell my girlfriend just bought an r32 gtst and she's on here!
  3. If you pop a car on the dyno, and severely retard it's base timing, you'll see a lovely squiggly line. Mine did it too. Yes, we need another UAS Skylines Australia DYNO day!!! Bring it on I say, my car was stock last time I ran, even won the Zoom magazine encouragement award, and look what it did to me, my car....and my wallet. lol
  4. What suburb? Might have been massiv or me... lol
  5. Appears to be fixed now. Replaced the alternator, HICAS light doesn't turn on. Car doesn't stall, and the battery's charging Now to check for where that power steering fluid is going....
  6. My mechanic did mine. He put the car up on a hoist, loosened the nuts holding the gearbox up, and then got an apprentice to put a 2x4 up in between the tunnel and the box, then gently move the box to the side. He used a spanner to undo it after chopping the wires at the base of the switch. He had a very hard time though, and he's a big bloke.
  7. Thanks for your help guys. My mechanic swapped it over with a part he had laying around, $30 all up. The alternator's not in "new" nick, only 13.4 @ idle. But it'll do the job for now. For $30 I no complain. I might actually check that place out Duncan, cheers for that .
  8. Cheers ECR
  9. Also could the fact that the battery is not charging, and the alternator isn't giving enough juice to everything cause the HICAS to play up??
  10. LOL! Twahgall.
  11. Yeah, it should read 13.8-14 at idle. Just wondering if there's anything I can really check? I've checked the belt on the alternator, that appears to be on tightly, and not slipping. Had a feel around of the wires, they appear to be plugged in. Anything else I can do? I really need to fix this today. I guess I should start ringing around to see if I can find a 2nd hand alternator, or a new one.
  12. Just checked the car... Jump started it, and put a multimeter across the battery. At idle the voltage remains at 11.8V, but when I rev to 4000rpm the voltage rises to 12.4 or so. The alternator is dead isn't it?
  13. Hi guys, I need an alternator for an R32 GTST Rb20det today. Does anyone know where I'd be able to get one quickly? Cheers, wil..
  14. Hi guys, Having a bit of a problem with my g/f's car at the moment. When driving the HICAS light will start to flash and flicker, steering will start to feel funny, then eventually the car will die. When trying to restart the car after this it's as though the car has a flat battery. Won't crank over properly. I also noticed that if the HICAS light starts flickering, and turns on, all I have to do is drop down a gear and rev the tits out of the engine to get the light to turn off, and the steering to return to normal. Now, I managed to get the car home, and put a multimeter across the battery. It was showing 11.8V when off, and 11.8V when the engine was started. (this is with the multimeter across the battery terminals. Is this how I should do it?) The battery is brand new. Is the alternator dead? Is there somewhere else I should be getting the multimeter reading from? Is there anything else I can check? Please help. Need to get this fixed asap, but being a saturday it's going to be hard to find a mechanic that can do it today.
  15. like I said, his base timing must have been way off. Look at the original graph. Power curve looks like something a 3 year old would draw. I've only ever seen graphs like that with severely retarded base timing.
  16. i'm only going cause of twoggle.
  17. yep, all RB's have them satanic.
  18. If I remember correctly base timing should be set to 15 degrees BTDC??? (I'm pretty sure it's 15) Any lower and you loose power, any higher and you can kill your engine.
  19. pic showing the cas. DO NOT START TURNING THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HAVE A TIMING LIGHT TO CHECK THE TIMING.
  20. Base timing can be checked with a timing light. It is adjusted by turning the CAS. hmmmm picture's would help ay...
  21. I'm thinking that his base timing was way off. Majorly retarded. That's where the gains were had, I'm guessing.
  22. free bump.. nice avatar by the way.. I love that car in your avatar.
  23. LOL! See Moonie Pie, I keep telling you YOU'RE a DUDE!
  24. I might come and check out twoggle on the dyno drag dyno... interesting.
