  1. nah i was in the white R33, pulled out of BP petrol station then was driving behind ya for a bit then i turned off. i rememeber you cos i was trying to figure out what your plates say.. haha
  2. Hey, I pretty much have these exact mods except 555cc injectors and profec BII and GCG hiflow. was having pinging problems dude to bad fuel, i had to add octane booster to compensate. Be good to compare though, even though different car blah blah blah. Think i saw you yesterday going down cowpasture road.. i was in the white R33.
  3. Thanks Paul, Putting in V power racing seems to have fixed the problem so far.. Although it hasn't been that hot in Sydney lately but still highest i've seen is 15 so finger's crossed.
  4. just filled up with Vpower racing.. yet to fully test it out.. will update
  5. Nah my tuner sticks his head in the engine bay while it's on the dyno and he can hear it pinging. Plus i figured it would still be pinging with the octane booster in it if it was something loose.. Spark plugs are new as i replaced them when i changed coilpacks. using 7 range sark plugs Haven't checked exhaust temps yet.. what should i be looking for? It's damn frustrating.. Thanks for your reply...
  6. Hey all, I have an R33 GTST with PFC, GCG hiflow, profec bII, with all supporting mods injectors fuel pump z32 etc etc. Now for my first tune i managed 220rwkw on 10psi.. could not run any more boost due to misfire. After that i got Splitfire coilpacks which cured the misfire problem however my car was running worst. there was just no power it needed 16psi to make 215rwkw.. nowhere near as good as the first time. so less power at more boost. My tuner said it had to be a bad batch of fuel.. i ran BP ultimate for both of these runs. So my tuner said to run this tank out and put in new fuel. So i ran it out and put in Ultimate again from a different servo.. took it back and he said it was pretty much the same maybe slightly better.. My tuner was sure it was another bad batch of fuel. Now here's the thing.. we put octane booster in it and instantly the car was running heaps better finally making 240rwkw on 16psi. My question is could i really have 2 bad batches of fuel? the octane booster kind of proves it was the fuel, but could the octane booster be masking a bigger problem? With octan booster my max knock reading was 19. he detuned the car back down to 232rwkw to compensate for octane booster I have since tried Shell v-power ( not racing) and it seems alright on cool nights but during day engine light flashes at me constantly reading of 74 at one stage. i was thinking about trying v-power racing. Could anything else cause the car to have no power? thanks for any help
  7. I had the same problem except mine was missing at 13psi Got splitfires now and i'm running 18psi.. definately worth it, as with the extra boost there's more power across the rev range not only just at peak.. so it's not "just an extra 15kw"
  8. What turbo are you running? And at what boost did you make 220kw?
  9. So much torque!!!! the Chassis twisted coming off the line!!
  10. Just install the parts yourself, there's a DIY guide on pretty much all the parts you want installed. Then just spend the cash on the tune.. I recently installed Turbo ( hiflow) , fuel pump, Z32, injectors, PFC, Profec BII myself saved heaps of money. I'm hopeless with a spanner, Prolly took me 3 times as long as a normal person but still saved the cash and learnt heaps doing it.
  11. I heard Venom are abit hit and miss.. i'd get them flow tested before putting them in.
  12. Where did you get the injectors from? The deatschwerks ones are hiflow injectors. I just installed deatschwerks injectors into my R33. They are stamped with a number on the injector plug which corresponds to the flow report. IF they don't have the number stamped on them, then they are most like not Deatschwerks
  13. Cost $500 and he said it shouldn't take longer than 2 hours.
  14. Thanks Cubes, yeah like others have said.. i already got it.. might as well use it. Learnt heaps of stuff from my last tune with Hitman, he let me sit in the car during the tune and explained what he was doing to the car and how it affects it. Awesome bloke.
  15. Why? because even reputable tuners learn something new everyday. I don't expect a tuner to know everything about my car, and he tunes 101 different types of cars so that's why i'm trying to do the most research i can to get the most out of my car. I trust him with my car, i mean the tune may be awesome with the standard AFM but perhps the tune will be even better with a Z32 AFM.. thats the question i'm asking.. he never said i couldn't put it in.. he just said it wasn't a necessity. Plus i'm going off other forum members experiences as most seem to say they needed to replace it. After reading nismoid's post, my car is a daily driver so perhaps the Z32 is better for me. Yep will try to remember to get the AFR plot for you guys.
  16. Hey mate, What was your fix for this?
  17. Awesome writeup mate, Got quoted $320 from the tuners to install injectors for me.. You have saved me $320 Thanks mate.
  18. Yeah i guess if i got it already.. Been to hitman before, so i'm very happy with his work, but it's just odd that alot of people on the forum have had to replace it during their setup, i guess each car is different.
  19. Thanks heaps for the response guys. I doubt he'll give me a free tune.. he's not saying i can't put it in.. he said it's up to me, but he says i don't need it. Thanks cubes.. i understand what you are saying. So if the Z32 will provide more reliability then i think i will go with it.. seeing as i've already bought it anyway.. haha He said my car will run smoother with standard afm.
  20. Hey All, Just a question. I'm about to get my car tuned by hitman and he adivsed that i don't need to change my AFM to Z32 one as i would reach peak power before the standard AFM max's out. Mods are Full exhaust, FMIC, profec II, nismo fuel pump, 555cc injectors, PFC, GCG hiflow turbo. i'm hoping for around 240-250 rwkw.. i have z32 afm but hitman advised the car will run better without it. After doing a search i read that standard afm will max out around 220rwkw. Should i put the z32 in? will the car run better across the rev range with z32 afm or is it mainly for peak power? Hitman says i don't need it.. but if the car will run better overall then i want to put it in.. What do you guys think? Thanks
  21. I'm selling my SAFC due to the purchase of a PFC. Has a few scratches on the front grey casing otherwise in great working order. comes with the apexi stand and all manuals. Just took it off the car but took a few pics before to show it was working. Located near liverpool - Sydney SOLD
  22. when do you hear this noise? On idle? or only when driving?.. do you hear it when the car goes over a bump?
  23. You can get Profec B spec 2 fairly cheap from greenline or contact [email protected] - from ns.com got Nismo Fuel pump and Greddy profec BII for $720 delivered
  24. MAte you shouldn't have a problem I have the GCG Hiflow with my stock ecu and its running fine.. the only thing is if i run more than 10 PSI i think it's either hitting boost cut or R&R, but your car will run fine otherwise. Also with the hiflow i found my car revs much smoother. I was in the same boat as you.. couldn't afford PFC and tune yet so but had time off work to remove old turbo and put in GCG hiflow and was conerned about the sma ething.. but mine runs fine and better than before except hitting R&R high in the rev range when i gun it.. but i'm sure you can take it easy until you get your PFC i drive my car to work everyday.. no problems
