Hi there, Please help! Im looking for a good mechanic who deals with imports in the Gladstone area or close surrounds. I sold my modified R33 Gts-t skyline to mates who live in Gladstone QLD and the car is currently registered in NSW in my name still. So new owners need to get a road worthy to register the car in QLD. New owners took it to a local mechanic in Gladstone who honestly hasnt got a friggen clue and is trying to bullshit about a plumbed back bov not being plumbed back when it so clearly IS plumbed back so kinda makes me think the mechanic is a bit clueless. Hi all, First of all i'd like to say sorry about the long story..... I am now having the exact same issue. Cylinder 1 is not firing at all. Was fine one day and just completely dropped out the next day. I must say though occasionally on start up it would run rough like it was dropping a cylinder but within 30 seconds would pick up and run completely fine. Im running an apexi pfc ecu. So far we've eliminated spark plugs, splitfire coils, coil wiring harness and harness plugs. Tested the injector as in, it was wetting the plug but not igniting the fuel. Placed coil slightly away from sparkplug and we could see it sparking the top of the sparkplug but its not igniting inside the cylinder. It has been compression tested and its all good there although cylinder 1 is slightly wet with oil.... My injectors are 570cc sard and are about 5 years old and the splitfire coils are same age. I dont actually use my skyline very much so it sits in a garage as i use my daily most of the time. So i let the rego lapse for about 2 months and in that time i didnt even start the skyline. Ive never had a problem like this before where it hasnt been an obvious issue. Once registered and i took it for a drive around for the day it split the radiator bleed valve hose but the car didnt get too hot as i realised something was wrong as soon as it happened, i replaced the hose, filled coolant up and drove away with no issues. I started the car 3 days later and thats when it dropped the first cylinder and we've been just testing and eliminating with no success so far. Thought i'd mention what happened with the car in the lead up to the cylinder not firing. Next step we were going for was to get a test module (black box at back of engine on top of coil cover) I was also told to check the crank angle sensor but they are expensive things to buy for testing if thats not the issue. Thought i'd read the sau threads as ive fixed many issues myself from people posting on this awesome site! Skud33 does this sound like the exact problem you were having with your skyline? Like not igniting the fuel in cylinder but sparking from the coil to the top of the sparkplug? I did read that you checked your injector voltage and that was the problem but how did you check them? Does it need to be checked through the ecu? I wont be doing this myself, i will be asking my mechanic to test it for me. Did you end up just replacing the one injector? Just thought i'd share! Ive experienced HICAS problems twice in the 11 years ive owned my series 1 R33 gts-t. First time the hicas light was flicking on and off while driving the car around making the power steering kick on and off with it. I replaced the hicas cast unit (the thingy the rear steering arms go into) sorry about my lack of technical wording! That fixed that problem for years..... Now im looking for a solution to my hicas light/no power steering again. This problem is completely different to my first hicas problem so im thinking its not in the cast unit. My problem this time is that the hicas light comes on accompanied with no power steering after the car has been turned off and started again. So after my first run of the day i have no power steering and the hicas light is on usually the remainder of the day. Although sometimes it seems to have a mind of its own and comes and goes as it pleases upon turning car on again, wet and humid wheather seems to affects it. Because this hicas problem seems so different from my first im thinking its connected to the hicas ecu unit. Just been looking thorough the tutorials and about to have a look at the ecu. Thanks guys! Lazy Bastard you are AWSOME!!! Had probs wif my drivers window for ages then it got stuck, i could hear clicking in the door frame....took it to electricians cost me $44 for them to tell me i needed to replace motor and reg so i did that, took it back to electricians to install, that cost me $88 and as i was driving off my window didnt work, the switch for the passenger side didnt work and the lock switch wouldnt move..took it back was told i needed a new switch and the auto stop button inside the door frame..WHAT THE F*#K!!! Got home took my switch apart found that they busted a clip on passenger switch and didnt line up the lock switch and mashed it on!!! (lucky i had a spare control panel put away) I go online and find lazy bastards thread, pulled off the relay and i have exactly the same crack in the solder!!!! Moral to the story......dont spend $250 on useless electricians when you can go on sau and fix it yourself!!! Those electricians are gona cop it tomorrow!!!

Wanted ASAP. R33 series 1 boot lock.....the flippy thing fell off mine ages ago and then i had the boot lock shaved but now car is getting full respray and boot has been replaced due to hail damage so now i need a boot lock for the new boot. Thanks. Please pm me....

Hi All, My beautiful black R33 skyline had hail the size of baseballs rain down on her on Tuesday. Im absolutely devistated!!! Im fully insured but its estimated at $8,400 to fix. Maybe i can source some parts myself to get the costs down and prevent my car from possibly being written off. So now im after a new carbon fibre bonnet and a flat boot lid. Also, i wouldnt mind a price on a very good condition roof. Im a little undecided about the bootlid but am considering it as i think it will be hard to source the lip i have on it currently as it is from japan. Ive just been looking on the net and finding it difficult to locate resonably priced carbon firbe bonnets and flat boot lids. One website i found to be stupidly high priced!
