  1. WTB Z32 Stock ECU , the 8 bit ECU would be most desirale. Can be any JDM , EDM or 1990-1992 USDM model ECU. It does not matter if the ECU is naturally aspirated or turbo, manual or auto. (Nissan part numbers 23710-30Pxx, 31Pxx, 37Pxx, 40Pxx, 41Pxx, 46Pxx, 47Pxx and 48Pxx).
  2. hehe, thanks lads
  3. No dramas pig farmers
  4. Pretty sound advice I think, I will concentrate on keeping the car mechanically A1 and go with a water temp alert. If it gets more serious , down the track I will look into more advanced monitoring, data logging etc. Harry what units do you use for the water temp alarm ? , am I looking at much $ for them ?
  5. Hey Guys, My name is Bobby , I am new to SAU forums but no stranger to owning Jap imports etc. I used to have an R32 (in my avatar) , since then had an S15 and now just drive my ute. I work with Dohmar and grabbed a non complied 33 late last year, planning on doing some hill climbs, motorkhanas, track days etc. The paintwork on the car is a bit rough and it was an automatic when I got it, its now manual with short shifter and puck clutch. Got Marky Marc at ET's to do some exhaust work for us with a screamer and flutes out the back , slowly but surely adding small bolt on's until I can spend more time and money later in the year once I finish working on the house. I started a blog to generate a bit of interest from friends, family and anybody that wants to donate goodies marketing. Check out the link if you get bored, I doubt I will get to any interstate events but for the Adelaide guys I look forward to seeing some of you other guys out there in 2013 ! Cheers
  6. Sounds like you have a vacuum line leak to me mate , havent seen many gizzmo products fail over the years and from what your describing it sounds just like a vacuum leak like Anfanee says.
  7. Hey Guys, So I am slowly trying to get my 33 ready for some motorsport this year, being a novice to this I dont want to rush in and buy a heap of instruments that wont serve much purpose or have any real benefit above what the standard GTST cluster gives. I think the no brainer one is my autometer boost gauge, I was then thinking of getting the matching Oil Pressure and Air Fuel ratio. The oil pressure because of the threads I am reading about RB series motors having issues with track work, then Air Fuel ratio just to make sure I am not leaning out. Would you agree ? , or do you think I dont need these, do need these, need more gauges ? I dont want to end up with a dash full of stuff I cant read whilst driving or end up with gauges showing me things that the stock cluster does fine, or even things I dont really need to know. But in saying that, would hate to blow up a perfectly good RB25DET for the sake of not knowing I was running to lean etc. What are your thoughts ?
  8. I am yet to put my 33 on the track early next year, have an aftermarket radiator and thermo's. Will be interesting to see if I run into temp issues. As for the RB oil surge issue, I guess we will see. Until reading the topic on SAU forums I never really heard of it being an issue on RB motors , never had the issue on my R32. Might have to record my temps for each session and see if I can compare with others ?
  9. I looked into HQ racing and it was the same deal , I think it would become a bit boring after a while racing the same god damn hatchback as everybody else and not being able to find any mechanical advantages. But then again, I guess that prevents chequebook racers from constantly dominating . Theres alot of pro's and con's about one make racing , I think there are more con's and decided not to get into it.
  10. I have one but its 149k kilometers... and for an automatic.... Im about to put it on ebay or throw it in the bin.
  11. if it makes you feel any better, you have an R34 GTR N1 ......... you feel pretty good now dont you
  12. I have an R33 thats not complied for this sort of thing, would be great to see some sort of circuit racing category for skylines but im not sure I would be that thrilled to have to replace panels on my car because of somebody else's "rubbins racing" approach. For me It will be hillclimbs, motorkhanas and supersprints unless somebody can come up with a series for skylines.
  13. ebay , gotta love it ! $10 ! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bathurst-1000-Highlights-1991-1992-DVD-/140853746907?pt=AU_DVDsBlurayDiscs&hash=item20cb899cdb
  14. hehehe, yeah I do about the same speed in my ute over the train tracks. Its fun but nowhere near as spectacular as those lads im sure ! I wont be back till the 7th, took the Raytheon recommended shutdown. I will hit you up when I am back, keen to check out the GTR. I would love to get mine complied but given its going to be a track car its probably a money wasting excercise.
  15. hehehe, no I dont actually ! My 33 isnt even complied so it wont be hitting the carpark there !
  16. No Rush ! Mallala are shut January for track upgrades !
  17. No Dramas Dohmar, I reckon I work with you at AWD, you ASC or Raytheon ?
  18. Hey not sure who the right people are so thought I would post a topic, I completed the online membership form and payment via paypal just before Xmas. What sort of lead time would it be before I receive a membership number ? The reason I ask is I want to get my CAMS level 2 speed license and try and get to a track day at llala mid January. Cheers Bobby

  22. Thats a fair point, I wonder if there are ruggedized (yes its a word !) versions or maybe I can make my own. Being in South Australia, you could almost say 80% of the year the inside of the car will be 30degrees or hotter. So that probably rules the cheaper option out , surely somebody (a manufacturer) has identified a spot in the market to make something that can withstand these sorts of issues but without the $800 price tag. Seems excessive for a pretty common technology these days ?
  23. What sort of dollars will that run into ? I notice your security in motion link Daniel ...
  24. its visible when I get my other car in and out of the yard, but only for 2 minutes a day at most. then the gate is shut and locked again.
  25. No, its stuffed into a corner of my backyard behind a locked gate and big dog.
