Large one for me too please - would like to see the photos too

Meguiars products for me too (in fact all of them). Used Turtle Wax and still trying to get the paint right afterwards. Meguiars not cheap but worth it

Red17 Agree with you on the ZZR250, I had one as my first bike and they are so easy to ride especially when not experienced. I remember Two Wheels voting it the best bike for beginners a few years ago. My mate wanted me to get an RZ250 (read: 2 stroke racing bike) but I said no, too damn quick for a beginner. Joe, get something that you will be able handle and migrate upwards from there. Like with cars, start off slow and build up from there. They are great fun and as long as you are sensible, you shouldn't get into trouble with them. Cheers, Al

I too only received the one key with the plastic head on it so I got another few cut as spares, just in case. The guy who cuy my spare keys said that Nissan keys have a tendancy to wear out and suggested using the cut spare one more often. Also, be careful when getting them cut as it took these guys 3 attempts before they cut copies that worked. The first would open doors and boot but not start car, the second didn't open anything and the third set finally worked. Rough price for a genuine Nissan key (from Japan) at least $300 !!! Cheers, Al

Import Brokers - PMS or J-Spec?
Red Sky II replied to king_kw13's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I imported my car from Geoff at PMS and he was one of the most helpful people I have ever come across. I have corresponding with him and asking questions for nearly a year before I actually bought my car - this was even before paying Geoff's fee. Try that anywhere else. Whilst he knew the car I was looking for, he found something better than I had looked for and emailed me with the details. When I wasn't sure due to only seeing two pics, he arranged for more pics to be taken the next day and sent these to me. As far as the process goes, he helped me the whole way and I didn't have to do much apart from meet people and pay people along the way. I live in Perth but never actually met Geoff and I don't think there is any real need to meet the person - unless you are more comfortable that way. First time importing car (under this "old" scheme) and would have no hesitation in recommending him. Cheers, Al -
[NOT FOR SALE 11/8/17] Top Quality Dash mats - Bulk Buy
Red Sky II replied to int21h's topic in Western Australia
Jay I will see what I can organise - don't have a digital camera (only a digital video) but will see if I can borrow one. It is basically the dash mat with slits in it that go over where the airbag is, so if the air bag cover goes up, the mat sort of opens up - looks a bit funny but covers it well Cheers, Al -
r33 gts-t WITHOUT a rear wiper?
Red Sky II replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Glad someone else asked this as I don't have a rear wiper on my 96 Series II (sorry to take away the difference idea) and mine seems to have the shallow centre console as well. At least now I know I am not alone - ie without a wiper as all others I have seen have the wiper -
[NOT FOR SALE 11/8/17] Top Quality Dash mats - Bulk Buy
Red Sky II replied to int21h's topic in Western Australia
Hey guys Protectomat already have dash mats for the R33 Series I and II as I got one from them late last year. They aren't listed on their website so I emailed them and they keep them in stock. Would assume they have R32 ones as well. Mine fits perfectly on the Series II and has a cut out for the air bag. My olds bought it for me for Xmas so not sure on price. If you get one be sure to fit it with lots of velcro otherwise it slides off when you take off rather spiritedly. Cheers, Al -
Where is everyone putting their stickers? I bought one of the larger ones and two smaller ones last Thursday lunch time (from West Perth to Bentley and back again in less than an hour). They had a few left then and got talking to one of the guys there for a short while - has some good stuff from what I could see. Just missed pwptf apparently or so the guy said. Cheers, Al

Am interested in this as well - is it mainly about performance driving? A guy at work also told me about MB Motorsport (not a typo) who were offering deals for advanced driving courses as well. They do a city one (80 kmh) and a country one (110kmh) so it seems more everyday driving skills compared to racing or performance driving. Have only looked at there website - MB Motorsport I haven't done either so no views on either of them
-
That's what they told me as well - clean inside with water and that was about it, nothing else.

I tried with the water streaming after reading the back of the Meguiars stuff and it works, much less water. Dragging the chamois also works too - still can't get used to something wet actually drying !!!! I also used the Meguiars (yes I have nearly even product of theirs now) foam applicator pads - what a great way to apply polish/wax, so easy and you tend to use less as the foam absorbs some of it so you don't need to keep putting new stuff on all the time. Meguiars = revelation for Red Sky  BTW has anyone used Meguiars Deep Crystal paint cleaner or Scratch X? - I want to fix up the roof that looks ugly with lots of marks and rough paint even after washing, polishing and waxing.
-
Well an update on the washing and drying of my car. I used the Meguiars Gold Class Wash with one of their wash mitts - great, those mitts are heaps better than sponges and the wash seemed to work well. Then I polished most of the car using Meguiars Deep Crystal polish - recommended - it deepened the colour (red) that was really noticable. It also brought up the colour of the mirrors that are fading. Good stuff. Then I applied Deep Crystal wax over the top of the polish (after rubbing off the polish of course). This was all based on Meguiars web site on how to do it properly. They recommend to polish first then wax. I found the Meguiars products much easier to wipe off than say Turtle Wax that's for sure with much better results. I just gotta keep doing it. Oh and one thing is for sure, in relation to towels and polishing cloths, good quality ones make life a lot easier and you get better results. I had some cheaper polishing cloths that didn't last too long, so used those to get most of the polish/wax off then a Meguiars towel to finish it off.

Was just checking out ebay and they have a Biante (???) model Winfield R32 GTR in box with brochures and stuff for $305 and the bids are still going up They also got those real small RC Skylines too

I voted Yes as well and would be interested. Where I can provide help or assistance also am willing to do.
-
Count me in - so only need another 46 ??? Skyzerr, I'll ask our audit manager next week for a rough price, should be able to get it fairly cheap and let you know
-
I'll have one of Number 1 and two of Number 2 but can't make it to the York cruise either
-
Skyzerr, thanks for the detailed post on the current position and agreed if there is a lack of interest then it is not worth doing due to costs being too high. I was once a Social Club President at work and know the "joys" of getting people to join, etc. In relation to audit costs, etc that shouldn't be a problem as I work in an accounting firm so could get audit cheap (I can't do it as I am a liquidator not an auditor). Accounting for the club I would be willing to take on at no cost. Before we headed down this path though I would suggest asking for membership and asking people to put their money where there mouths are up front so that funds are on hand. All too common people saying they will until the crunch comes then they change their mind. But in the end, if no interest then no club - that simple and if we what we do now works and everyone is happy then that's cool.
-
So 3 replies and 3 no need for a club views. At least now I know what some of the thoughts are regarding this so will leave that one alone now.
-
Good point although a formal club would make things more, you know, formal !!! It seemed to me that all states were going to form state based clubs then a national one but I may be wrong. Being in a club, makes everyone feel more a part of it, helps in defraying the costs of things like stickers, cruises, etc, stuff like that. Plus formalising it makes those that really want to be a part of it all be so as it costs a small amount of money to join so we know all those that a part of the club are serious about their cars (or just too wealthy). These are just some ideas I thought I would throw out there - if the consensus turns out to be no formal club then that's cool.

Must admit that this is my first turbo car and the thrill of it is awesome. Before deciding on the Skyline, I drove a few NA Supras (as I loved those when they first came out) and was disappointed as there was no real oomph, like you get with a turbo. I drove my old Celica (still waiting to find a buyer) the other day and it felt really slow, etc whereas until the Skyline, I thought it was great. It will be hard to go back to a non-performance car now that I have tasted it.

Just wondering whether WA already has a formal SAU club or whether there are plans for one if not, like the one they have just set up in NSW? If we don't, would people be interested in such a thing? Thought this would have been discussed before but didn't find anything when I did a search for "club" and "membership" on the WA section.

Regan Send Here To thanks Cheers, Al

Basic Question - how do you tell when your synchros are buggered and on the way out? I have a short shift kit in my R33 but apart from a similar clunking problem going from 3rd to 4th at high rpm, no dramas

Series II Antenna - how far does it go up
Red Sky II replied to Red Sky II's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
What head unit are you using as I know that some head units, such as Alpine, that is a function of the unit itself? Mine is a Panasonic MP3/CD unit without that functionality
