  1. Just wondering whether you can lower the standard suspension as it is and if so, how do you go about it? OR Do you need alternative springs, shocks, etc to lower the car. This is for a Series II Stagea that I am happy with the feel of the suspension just want it to be lower for pure visual reasons. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Al
  2. Just for reference, the Stagea Owners Handbook states the wheels to have an offset of +40mm with a PCD of 114.3mm x 5 albeit this is with standard rims as listed of 15x6JJ; 15x6.5JJ and 16x7JJ
  3. How do you adjust the height from the cabin? - haven't found anything in my Series II to do that The antenna is in the drivers side rear window - according to the manual at least Cheers, Al
  4. Congratulations on the Stagea To confirm regarding the antenna, it is embedded in the glass on the driver's side where the "boot" glass is. Kinda looks like a demister but it is the antenna. Enjoy the wagon Cheers, Al
  5. Confirm that Series 2 comes with Xenon headlights, well at least mine has and most others I have seen appear to have Xenons as well. Also got the auto boot closure thing too.
  6. Does anyone think the extra $ for the 7750 would be worth it? Liking the JVC unit as well as it looks so cool with similar features to the 5570
  7. Thanks so now a case of deciding whether to go the Pioneer DEH-P5570MP or the DEH-P7750MP or the JVC SHX-705. Cheers, Al
  8. Saw a white Stagea yesterday parked in Colin Street, West Perth around lunch time. Looked fairly stock although wheels were nice Any one from here?
  9. Aussie Car Audio s who I came across first and they have the JVC unit I really like. Checked out Euphorix store and they are cheaper again (thanks shanef) and they seem similar to some of the others although with lower prices. They appear to have the US based stuff given the model numbers So all in all apart from potential warranty issues, those who have bought from eBay haven't had problems with the units actually working? Cheers, Al
  10. Thanks for the replies and surprised to hear about the US models actually working given they say the AM band doesn't work. Interesting with the US model DVD players though that are Region 1 only so not much use here for pre-recorded DVD's. I was thinking of one of the JVC units either the KD-SHX705 (looks awesome with good features) or the KD-SHX855 which is also sold here. Alternatives are the Pioneer range around the same price point. Cheers, Al
  11. Been looking at putting in an MP3 head unit into the Stagea and came across online stores and cheap head units on eBay that appear to come from Indonesia, Singapore or the USA. Ruled out the USA due to model differences, AM not working amongst other things. Has anyone had experience with buying these overseas units and was it as expected, everything works okay, etc? Just want to make sure I will get what I expect. Cheers, Al
  12. 1. Not sure whether all the autos are tiptronic but my understanding is they are. 2. Using the gear lever in manual mode is a bit slow and you have to change before you want to so that the change happens (delay of a second or so). The controls on the steering wheel for changing are a lot quicker though and once you get used to it, it is pretty good. For me depends on the driving situation whether I use full auto or the tiptronic. 3. Not sure about the intercooler but would be interested to find out the answer. That red S2 was also on the Prestige Motorsport mailing list last week as well - looks reasonable. Cheers, Al
  13. Thanks for the links to the manuals, downloading now Cheers
  14. On my Series II when I press in the temperature knob a temperature is displayed but not sure what it actually is. Next to the number there is Japanese writing that I can't read
  15. Saw my 2nd Stagea on Perth roads this morning (few and far between). White Series 2 turning into Wanneroo Road from Ocean Reef Road
  16. And The only issues with the warranty are that you have to have it serviced at least every 10,000kms or 6 months (which you should be doing it more often), you have to send them copies of the service receipts within 7 days. If getting repairs they prefer to obtain the quote first then organise repairs but the last two times I used it (to replace coil packs, wiring loom and re-core the radiator) it waas done after the repairs were done. I bought my Stagea from Autowholesale a while ago - don't go off their website though as it is terribly out of date.
  17. In relation to the dealer warranty a lot of dealers will "include" the AWN warranty with the car which effectively gets them out of the statutory warranty - the AWN one is usually for 3 years. Found out the above when I had to get work done on the Stagea not long after I purchased it. I do remember though that when I imported my Skyline from Prestige, you could purchase your own AWN warranty and they weren't that expensive - that was a while ago now. Only reason fr not importing again was financing as didn't have the spare money to start the importing process plus I needed the Skyline until I got the Stagea - plus got a good deal on trade in and Stagea price. The silver Stagea you saw may have been me and I sometimes travel that way - stock Series II version. Cheers, Al
  18. Would be good to see some pics of the blue Stagea Let me know whether you find the plug
  19. The consult plug is on the right hand side of the steering wheel, the cover looks like a coin holder or little compartment, you pull that off and behind it is the plugs and some fuses - kinda neat how they make use of the space Enjoy the Stagea
  20. Following the replacement of a faulty wiring loom and coil packs in my Series II Stagea, I average around 11.5 l/100K with a combination of peak hour morning driving and flowing freeway driving at night. Usually always use full auto with the occasional tiptronic for fun Totally stock Stagea that has better economy than my former Series II Skyline did
  21. PM me too please
  22. Thanks for the advice guys
  23. Thanks SydneyKid So really it is a case of replace the other parts if they need to be replaced but otherwise there is no real point. I guess the other posts are all thinking replace everything in the one hit since the labour cost is high to pull it apart. Just going to get the basic service now at 96,000kms and then get the timing belt changed next service and they can check the other items - if they need replacing will do so otherwise leave them. Cheers, Al
  24. My 98 Stagea is nearing 100,000kms and so looking at replacing the timing belt and water pump as well as a general service. I have been quoted by a Nissan dealer (in Perth) that to do a basic service (96,000kms service), change the timing belt and water pump would be around $800. Is this too expensive or about right for the work to be done. I don't have the abilitiy to do the replacement myself, unfortunately. I assume that I shoudl also get the bearings and seals replaced at the same time (following advice from other threads). Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers, Al
  25. Agree with unekkwahn and I will be taking my Stagea to Hyperdrive for servicing and maintenance. They looked after my Skyline before.
