  1. Ok so basically car has been garaged while we moved house and did a few body repairs. Decided to try again. We double checked wiring, plugs, spark plugs, fuel pump, afm, still no luck. Decided to play around with the timing, set to full tilt one way and actually managed to have it running. Not great but enough to get from a to b. But....inevitably the problem came back. Have just gone through with a bit of help from a friend and set correct rpm and timing and the problem is even worse. Its not even livable now. Really clueless as to the cause of the issues and with baby due in 8 weeks i really need my car going! Any more ideas or suggestions all greatly appreciated!
  2. I was right, he has used the r33 loom with r32 plugs where needed, and has hooked up VCT. Plugging the VCT makes no difference to the problem either. Also eliminated any vacuum leaks. Partner is currently checking all the plugs he swapped over to r32 to make sure all the right wires are connected.
  3. No 33 engine, 33 loom, 33 ecu ect. Wired in r32 plugs where required.
  4. Unplugged idle control valve, no change. No blockages or leaks in hose either. Engine came from a running r33 and had no issues prior to this.

  6. Spark and fuel flow all ok. Not running rich either :-/
  7. The amount of splutter is proportional to throttle position not rpm. So basically idles fine and as soon as you apply throttle it starts spluttering and misfiring. The more throttle, the worse it gets until it just dies. No real power at any point under throttle.
  8. Probably best for my partner to answer that one tonight lol. As far as i know he used the r33 loom and just wired in the r32 plugs where needed. I know he has hooked up the VCT and everything has been earthed (we double checked last night)

  10. Hi Guys, I've recently put a R33 RB25DE in my R32 GTS25. All went really smoothly, got it started and sounds amazing at idle. Problem is driving it. Severely lacks power under throttle and runs "spluttery" i guess is the best way to describe it. I've gone through and replaced AFM, coils, fuel pump and filter. No luck. Also checked O2 sensor, TPS and APP. Everything appears to be wired in correctly, no signs of any vacuum leaks, no sunburn fuel coming out exhaust. I am literally clueless as to what the problem might be! Very frustrating!! Please any suggestions or help would be much appreciated :-D
  11. Hi Guys, I recently put a S1 R33 RB25DE in my R32 GTS25. Did manual conversion, brake upgrade, wheels, plugged in engine and she was running mint! Until we went to drive it.....has serious lack of power under throttle and "splutters" when you drive it. First thought was AFM or coils. Replaced both and still no change. Also replaced fuel pump and filter, checked O2 sensor, TPS and APP. Everything appears to be wired in correctly and no signs of any vacuum leaks. Im out of ideas! Any help would be much appreciated :-)
  12. Recently put a r33 rb25de in our r32. Starts fine and idles perfectly however as soon as you go to drive it, it lacks power under throttle and runs "spluttery" ? Have replaced afm, coils, o2 sensor, fuel filter and pump and still no improvement. We are stumped as to what the problem might be. The problem"spluttery" driving feel seems to be proportional to accelerator position and not rpm. Have checked and adjusted tps and have app plugged in. Any help greatly appreciated!! :-)
