  1. Gah my phone battery died and I didnt have your number Rez LOL ohwells maybe some other time. Still not one for car shows but it sure beats the hell out of Auto Salon in Melbourne LOL glad I took the bike... traffic looked pretty nasty at around 4:30pm heading back.
  2. yeah sounds good. Ill PM my details... will probably be sunday afternoon coz I usually go drifting Saturday night, if thats ok?
  3. Ill be there on Sunday most likely... depends if I can organise these free tickets coz Im a tight arse like that
  4. getting back on topic isnt australia famous for its ambos rocking up after 30mins plus from the first call... man drop me 30cm, dont check if Im ok first... but just BE THERE!!! LOL
  5. Im gonna piss you all off and say its not to far from me either but I cant be arsed going I know Im lazy but lately have had enough of looking and just want to drive, no way Im driving to a circut and NOT drifting the track
  6. Hrrrm maybe its coz my car looks so ratty but the attitude seems totally different to back in Aus where every punk and his dog would have a go at a red light. Infact I dont think I have had a single drag race at all and I have been driving here for over a year! although I must admit I dont really care about drags its all about the drift. Seems to be a different case with 50cc scooters though! everynight on the way back home, before I "upgraded" to a 250cc bike, I would have duals with those damn kids with there hotted up scooters. I ALWAYS lost prolly coz Im atleast 20kg heavier but also coz my scooter was stock LOL

    RC-cars

monzaro - yeah... they also do all kinds of silly stuff like mount lighter flints into the piping so you get sparks when you are drifting also they get those drift yokomo tyres and take the plastic rings off and mount fencing wire instead LOL The setup of the cars sounds simple but its actually quite tricky to get the right balance between oversteer and understeer. Too much understeer and obviously the car is just ploughing everywhere, but too much oversteer and the car isnt controllable.
  9. Yeah there is enough demand that if you look around you will find extra work easily. Alot of Nova teachers actually teach private lessons out side of Nova for extra cash as its alot better than Nova`s overtime rates.

    Food.....

Just a decent fast food burger except really small (about as big as a junior burger from McDonalds but a little taller) and with some special Mos sauce. And Informer Im guessing Lee doesnt go to Maccas much as Big Mac meals are about 600 odd yen over here too. Speaking of fast food Im addicted to Bikuri Donkey at the moment. That shit is the business and for 500 yen a meal its pretty good value too.

    Food.....

Dont be dissing the Mos burger... that shit is great. The only problem is you need to order 2 meals per person
  12. I dont have a degree Troy... as I said all you need for part time is one or two years of Tertiary education. (although cause I have 4 years tertiary education they said I could apply for a full time position but bollocks to that!! LOL) I hate the kids lessons and dont think I could handle their internet based teaching "ginganet" Rezz - yes they are really strict, doesnt mean you cant break the rules, just means you cant get caught LOL Not many people follow the rules but the rules are a really good excuse not to have to meet some of the "special" students. Informer - The freinds who have gone to teaching at High schools have done it privately at private high schools and I think speaking Japanese is virtually a must. As none of the high school staff can speak english, everything like contracts, timetables etc are all in Japanese. If you are trying to score a job at a private school you can make up any story you want as most of the managers/owners of the schools have terrible english. I had a friend in Kochi who was german and his english was TERRIBLE but still managed to convince a school his english was good and scored a job LOL
  13. Yeah Laurence thats right. You do need a degree or equivalent (in anything) to teach full time at Nova. Part time is, I think, one or maybe two years of tertiary education minimum eg TAFE, uni short course etc. You also need to have done all your schooling in an Englsih speaking country and also pass the entrance exam/test not that its hard (although a couple of my friends didnt get through ) Lee - As for not being of benefit to the students, when I first started I would have agreed but I have seen many students who have learnt english to a remarkably high level at Nova so it seems to work ok? But as for defending Nova, I think they are money hungry dogs and nothing is more important to them than profit, so dont think I am some Nova arse licker either *edit* REDFC - I work for Nova part time and that is 200k yen clear a month (not that you get taxed that much here anyway)
  14. Wow well there is certainly a contrast between your body shop work and mine!! ROFL Being a drifter I use a rattle can IF the car is lucky! usually a hammer, chain and thats it. filler is just more money. I like my wrinkled guards! it shows the car gets used
  15. There is overtime available but I wouldnt waste my time with Nova. If you want more money work elsewhere. Private lessons and maybe even other companies would be the go. Nova is easy and convenient for the person who cant be bothered organising things them selves. But you can easily put in alot of time for them and the pay check isnt that great... infact it works out the less you work for them the better as alot of the pay is made up of allowances like regional, service, travel, regularity etc at the moment something like 60%-70% of my pay is actually for teaching! so if possible I want to lower the amount of time I work there (but im already on the minimum) LOL I work 20 hours a week and my pay is 200k yen a month. I send car parts back on the side but if I wanted serious cash (if I wasnt lazy) I could try and find another part time teaching job in the morning/weekends and be looking at 350k+ which is ALOT more than fulltimers at Nova get.
  16. Informer is incorrect, there are many asian teachers with Nova. To score a job at a high school you dont have to be a qualified teacher but you do have to have pretty decent japanese. A few mates have left nova for teaching in High schools... but Im lovin the part time life atm lamtran, no problem with chicks in your apartment as long as its ok with your room mates. tip would be to get the hell out of the nova apartment ASAP and move into a place with your girlfirend. You will save heaps and have privacy plus be able to be with your girlfriend full time.

    RC-cars

OOops no what I meant was to me there is ONLY drifting RC cars... none of this off road or circut rubbish I use a tamiya t04 chassis with a nomuken skyline r34 shell, a 1 way front diff, locked rear diff, remove the sway bars and running pvs tubing for tyres. This is the standard setup here. Here are some pics of the track and the guys I stuff around with here (yes that is the D1 driver Kuroi LOL) When we arent out drifting we are usually at Radio Tengoku (sad I know) ps. Please ignore the shocking pics of me http://crazymax999.web.infoseek.co.jp/publ...html/8-26-1.htm

Is there any other type? LOL
  19. yeah that typhoon was a real fizzer. I rode the kwaka zzr back from work when the typhoon was apparently at its peak in Osaka and would have to say it felt pretty calm LOL!
  20. Thats a good point rezz... I will ask Kuroi at Riverside if he uses or has thought of anything.
  21. 1 ichi = i,hi 2 ni = ni, hu,tsu 3 san = mi, sa, san 4 yon = yo, shi 5 go = go, itsu 6 roku = ro, mu, roku 7 nana = na, shichi 8 - hachi = ha, ya 9 kyu = ku, kyu, ko 0 = zero = oh, Ppl sometimes just make up there own sounds for each number. Eg. with 0 = ma.... ma = space in Japanese so zero also equals nothing or "space" so they use 0. As you can see there isnt any agreed standard for "ri va sai do" so you would have to get creative to make the numbers up. by the way the numbers= letters was brought up when pagers could only handle numbers not letters like todays emails/mobile phones.
  22. spacers are your friend. looks like 5-10mm wont hurt anyway. Get those rims right out and flush with the guards (and that will help your centre caps clear your front hubs).
  23. Ok here is a pic of the fugly sil a little while back... looks a little different now. In the next few weeks should have BN sports aero, 5 stud conversion, and some 17 x 9 rims fitted. Oct 8,9,10,11 is no good for me. I will be in Australia judging a drift comp.
  24. My car is easily the ugliest here... will soon change appearance a little so will wait till thats done before posting pics
  25. 5`9", 50kg, long black hair? Im sorry that was lame.
