Nice car mate, looks mean.. I dont mean to be a troll but I cant really see anyone dropping 11 k or so on this with the current damage on her.. maybe it would have been better to fix the damage and then try and sell, obviously everyone is in a different position though. That's just my opinion anyway, it might be different over there in Vic. You mentioned in the add that the repairs are not as much as people would think.. How much would one be looking at to have her in top condition body wise again? I'm no expert in the smash repair game which is why I am curious and asking and it may also help your sale if someone who isn't as knowledgeable when it comes to body repairs is interested. Nonetheless good luck with the sale and free bump mate

Is it possible to become a member even if one doesnt own a skyline at the moment? Have no pics on the set up, nothing fancy, dont have a skyline at the moment and probably wont for a while. I was going to get an r32 GTR but with the age and maintanence on them i've decided to go for an evo for now, (dont shoot me) still really want to become a member and participate and become more involved in the whole motorsport events and cruise scene, surely there are a few NSW members that have evo's and different types of cars other then skylines? Don't get me wrong skyline will always be my favorite and if I had enough I would love to get mint series 3 r33 GTR or an r34, just dont have the funds for it at the moment, later on in life when I am set up a little better I'll definitely be going in that direction.. Before someone says why dont you go and become a member of an evo club, simply because an r34 GTR was my dream car growing up and I have always loved everything Nissan. I have been browsing these forums for so long and cant help but notice how friendly and helpful everyone is, just seems like an awesome crowd to hang around and I feel a lot more comfortable in this community.

Hey guys have been here for a few weeks now, thought I would come here and say hello because the wasteland looks like some fun and I didn't want to be too much of a random. My names Bill, live in the Hurstville area Sydney, looking at becoming an SAU NSW member as I want to get more involved in the car community, I love skylines always have, always will and everyone from SAU is nothing but friendly and seem like an awesome bunch of blokes. Interested in participating in some track days and things like that. Had a few fair lemon daily's in my driving career only two things worth noting are a Honda prelude (barely- not a Honda fan-boy) and a non turbo r33 gtst back in my late teens. The prelude was nice and had nice creature comforts however I wouldn't enjoy the FWD, I loved the Skyline as you would imagine. I have a lemon Mitsubishi Magna as a daily which is on its way out and is also due for rego, I'll be getting something cheap with some rego to get around for now, almost at the end of my saving goal to buy a weekender. Other then cars, I'm not into too much as a hobby anymore, was never into the clubbing or the going out scene, more of a hang out with friends grab something to eat and relax type of guy. Was into bodybuilding for about 5 years quiet seriously, dont go too often anymore, enjoy some fifa on PlayStation so if anyone wants a game pm me. I'm in Sydney I rang a guy yesterday, really nice guy, been something that I have been kind of waiting for, sort of track ready as I want to get into and start participating in track days etc, has the work done to it, owned by a mature owner, very clean etc I rang the guy and a couple red flags turned up, the previous owner had done the work, he had only owned it for a year or so, the previous owner who had the work done purchased it from edward lee's stock back in 2007 with 45,000 kilometres on it, he had the work done to it at 65,000 and shortly later sold it, the car is at 75,000 k's now. The characteristics of the car are exactly what I have been looking for, however when I heard Edward Lee's my heart did sink a little, the cars had the whole upgraded turbo, head work dyno, tuned by pulse racing (where I was hopefully planning on going, heard they were great with wrx and evo's) had the bottom end freshened up and cleaned, says he has receipts from the previous owner, as soon as I heard edward lee's my heart did sink realizing that it has possibly been wound back and possibly has previous damage history? (Heard and read a lot of dodgy crap about them) problem then is it becomes like 95 % of them here have not been bought in as private imports and a lot have been bought originally from these dealerships.. at the least this ones had the work done to it and maintained and looked after by a professional place? as long as it hasn't been in a wreck previously. Car looks immaculate in the photos and he said the same to me over the phone, that the interior is absolutely faultless (the recaros have had a re- trim in leather and everything looks very well maintaned I may be going and seeing it next week, which is also why I need someone to recommend me someone who knows evo/ imports really well to inspect the car inside and out, I dont want to post the link of the particular car here, however it would be a HUGE help if anyone maybe iron/ladychef or someone whose heavily in the jap import game would allow me to PM them or anyone in the scene so they can tell me if they have seen the car or know a little about it, he told me its never been tracked, by him or the previous owner, my money is on I show someone whose in the scene the car and they tell me they have seen it somewhere in the past.. you just never know who knows who I suppose so it cant hurt to ask on here, the current owner seems like a real nice genuine guy, hes definately not the one im worried about anyway any help is gladly appreciated guys..

This is f**king digusting I cant believe this still happens in this day and age.. where has peoples respect gone for other property? I used to be very.. VERY paranoid about this.. since not owning anything but a lemon daily for the last few months.. The paranoia eased and I hadnt thought of it too much/ had told my self no one would be silly enough to do that.. nonetheless after reading through this and the whirlpool thread whenever I take my car to get any work done (hoping ill be taking it to pulse racing who seem very professional) however if it has to go anywhere for any repairs or anything like that I'll be taking 20 photos from every angle, noting the kilometres and most likely even installing a camera/ audio somewhere in there stream straight to my phone or pc saving every single minute. A little extreme but stuff that, hard earned money then having some shit flamin mongrel low life (not all smashies are) getting kicks out of thrashing MY car, im really annoyed for you man honestly, so low if I wanted to f**k my driveline and tyres I would, why should someone else be.. hope it all works out for you just really push for it

Theres charging more for their cars.. and then theres plain ripping people off, winding back kilometres and bringing over previous wreck cars and selling them as mint low kilometer cars is just plain wrong.. sad that most import dealerships have succumb to this.. not naming any places or accusing anyone.. just saying

I have been following your thread closely sinista, beaaaauuutifull evo you have there for sale, the problem for me is that my budget is around the 20 k mark.. which is possibly one of the main reasons i have to sift through the crap of a lot of the private sales to find a gem.. also only puts me in the evo 7 category as they've taken a little drop as of late which in turn means its even more of a grey area never actually coming Aus compiled. I wish you the best of luck with the sale, if it werent for the slow times it would have already been sold thats for sure, its obvious it has been taken care of like your own baby.. How is the sale going in general? many phone calls, offers, time wasters? Thanks for the reply darksky and bufforah, I have seen and read a lot from Iron Chef and you can tell by the way he is spoken and his reputation on this forum that he is a genuine professional and honest bloke, I think it comes down to once again having something arrive compiled and registered it may just be out of my reach financially.

Hey guys, just want to start of by saying this is by far the most informative forum with the friendliest bunch of people I have ever participated in.. Day by day I learn more and more I am going to be in the market for an evo 7,8 quiet shortly, I would rather a private sale as the dealerships have the prices hiked up along with all the other suspicious activity, the issue is that unless it was a private import or though a private broker then a private sale would impose the same problems.. Things I have read about are how to understand the grading papers, always ask for the export/dereg papers, if there are none walk away, have also heard of a service you can pay for and they retrieve all the original information from japan.. painted chassis rails? What are the odds of actually attaining the export/dereg papers from a private sale? quiet low I suppose as the general public wouldnt be aware enough to ask for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am quiet stumped with spending hard earned money on a previous wreck or high km wound back import while some dealer sits in his office chair reaping the dodgy profit and laughing about it with his friends... They've just dropped so much in price now man, no one wants to spend more $ on a worked gtst when they can get thrashed about r32 gtr's or a gtst with light mods for not even 6k that and from what i've been seeing on these forums as of late there is absolutely no money for cars at the moment, i've seen guys on this forum for over a year with little to no price drop refusing to get with the times, same thread for over a year, unsold.. Nonetheless if someone is after this type of car then you should get the interest.. goodluck with the sale

Glad I stumbled across this thread, I have always wanted a skyline, particularly an R32 GTR as its more around my price range, however as of late that EVO bug has been creeping up on me and i've just about swayed towards buying one.. heard too many good things about them, also heard many good things about the Godzilla ofcourse but the thing that turns me off is the maintenance and I just cant justify dropping so much money + money on maintenance on a 20 year old car.. have to be a real enthusiast unless you want one thats been beat to death for around 13k which will pop within half a year.. as for the WRX they sound awesome they go good but they've never gotten me me the way the evo does.. also hard to find a rex thats been babied and looked after, a lot of dickheads out there think because its their daily they can treat it how ever they want

Hey guys didnt think I wouldnt have to list this however due to a certain time waster on gumtree I now do. It's a rb25 5 speed turbo gearbox, came out of an r33, I haven't used it my self but it came connected and ready to go to a fully forged rb25/30 with Nitto H-beam rods, Je pisons.. you guys get the idea, from memory was told it was a low k box which was also rebuilt at some stage, hasnt done much work. I also have the r33 tailshaft to go with it. Price is 1400 ono, would suit pick up for Sydney buyer as I dont think these are as sought after interstate.. Cheers, Bill
