  1. I had a similar problem with my celica couple years ago. I used heavy duty wash (I think brand was polyglaze) and then cut (kitten cutting compound- red can) then polished and waxed. The cutting and polishing stage is when these marks dissapeared. This forum has taught me that waxing is not the solution to swirl or water stain or bat crap marks. The wax is only a sealant which protects and shines the surface.
  2. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/417271-r32-gtr-no-engine/ Just saw this. However location is in Vic.
  3. So how'd you end up playing oztag? I have been training my legs quite frequently now and it's becoming harder for me to achieve sore legs after a workout, which is somewhat of a good thing. I haven't heard of couch to 5 k. Just did a quick search on google and seems interesting. Thanks for sharing brotato.
  4. All these amazing results you guys get are motivating me to ge back into it! I did the city2surf over the past 2 years and my results were: 2011 - 89 mins 2012 - 76 mins 2013 - hoping for sub 70mins I the reason why I improved so much in one year is because I was warming up wrong and also diet. I used to jog for warm up and then stretch for 5 mins. Then when I run, I used to get terrible ankle pains while running. I did some research and found that doing the cross trainer for 8 mins warm up, then stretching 10 mins will reduce those pains. This is because there is no impact on ankles while warming up. I was actually able to run 5km on treadmill in 23 mins. Now I also make sure to digest the food before I run.
  5. Plug might have come out from speaker as you were installing? It's always a good idea to weld and heat shrink. The speaker terminals might have manufacture fault...
  6. Seen this car in person. I have to say this is one of the cleanest r33 gtst you'll see on the roads. He is a very fussy owner and only uses top of the shelf parts. Ray, it might be a good idea to show them photos of the engine bay as it will wow them on how immaculate It is. This skyline is a typical example of unmolested and lightly modified skyline. Even if I'm not in the market for a skyline, I would definitely consider this. Good luck with sale!
  7. Thanks Terry. I'm thinking this product may help. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-PC Those look like amazing results. I'm sorry this is off the thread topic but how do you detail the bumpers? I always just wash and shammy it, nothing else.
  8. I had a shop around and saw bunnings to be the cheapest. Supercheapauto had a pack of 25 for $47 Bunnings had 1kg (18 x 40cmx30cm) for $9.98 I used the bunnings ones on my car and seemed to do a very good job. However took about 5 towels to polish, cut and wax. The more expensive ones may last longer.
  9. You may be able to get away with it by cutting it yourself. I know you mentioned you don't want to spend a day stuffing around but it may be a simple thing. Have you got photos? Also Terry, does Eugene have a website? I'm keen to have my cars swirl marks detailed. Being a dark coloured car, and having the right products, I just can't seem to get rid of them.
  10. I don't think p plate drivers are allowed to drive turbo. Looks neat though. Glws!
  11. I have never clay bar'd my car and I would guess it is in desperate need of one. Thanks for the video example! I thought clay bar was used AFTER washing and drying. That's why I was worried the dry surface would cause friction and lead to scratches. Anyways, now you've showed how it's done. Thanks for that! I also had another quick question, the paint of my rear wing has slightly faded and I have tried to cut a thin layer of paint using fibreglass polish and then wax. It did help smoothen the surface but the fading was still there. Is this because I was using boatcare products? I picked the polish and wax up from super cheap auto and the worker recommended I use this. Do I have to keep cutting until I get a clean surface of paint? Is there any other way I could fix this without a $250 respray? Thanks
  12. Thanks guys! I'll keep it in mind for next detailing session. I'll need to stock up on microfibre cloth, polish and sealant. I'm learning so much from browsing through these threads.
  13. Hey mate, Apologies for the delay but I have added a photo with this post. I'm not a professional or detailing expert or anything as I always stick to basic cleaning and waxing products. I followed a similar procedure to what Anthony mentioned. I washed > cut using compound > wax > ultimate compound. I was too scared to use the clay bar for the first time as I thought it would scratch my car. I'm waiting for my friend to show me how to use it. In the photo, the green oval shows tiny micro scratches when looking at the reflection of light. When I used ultimate compound, it did get rid of these micro scratches (red oval), however, only about 50-90%. I may need to use a clay bar to remove dirt and grime. I apologise for the poor quality picture as I couldn't find my digital camera and was stuck with my phone -_-' Matt seems to know what he's talking about so he would know much more than me. I hope I helped!
  14. I would suggest using meguiars ultimate compound. I have not used this personally on my car but will look forward to it this weekend. I have been told by a friend of mine that 'meguiars ultimate compound' eliminates very light circular scratches on the surface of the paint. He did one half of his bonnet and was surprised to see the difference it made. it was like brand new fresh paint all over again. e.g. when you finish waxing your car, look at the reflection of a light on your paint. You will see tiny micro scratches. Another detailing tip which most people don't seem to do is using protectant on plastic trims outside the car. I will try to get some before and after photos this weekend on my celica.
  15. Wow I've never seen engine covers that clean before! What type of wheels are they? What size are they? Did you have to roll your rear guards? Keep up the good work on the car!
  16. You have motivated me to build my own 32 gtr. There's just something about the car that I love. Have you tested your car on dyno yet? Would love to see some pics of dyno. Anyways good luck with it all! You have done an amazing job on the car.
  17. As mentioned above. How much?
