  5. People, Just thought I would share this with you all as I'm trying to find out what happened to me last night whilst driving my car. Last night I was driving home from work "enthusiastically" (not speeding of course) and heading down the freeway when I noticed my "Check Engine" light flashing, which is basically the Power FCs warning light for those of you who don't know. Basically...I think it was beginning to detonate as the knock meter registered something like 81. Not good. In the end I had a quick look at the readouts from the FC and it basically stated that the injectors max duty cycle was only 70% and the AFMs had only reached 4.7volts. Still enough fuel, afms left. What the hell could have caused it? The car has had a rough "clean up" tune and is running stupidly rich (10afrs) but why would it still register this knock reading? I have done everything I can to make this car as "safe" as possible but far out... Car has never done this before? Should I be worried? Car has forged internals. All I can think of is shithouse fuel?? I had am empty tank and just put $10 in it to get me by just before this happened, so this is the only thing I can think of, as I have heard BP Ultimate can come in very "inconsistant" batches..... So with the following: - 10 AFRs - Enough injectors left - Enough AFMs left - and Max timing also at 35degrees, nothing crazy. ... what could it be? Fuel pump maybe? Bad fuel? Anyone?

  8. Leaking down near the transmission!? If its doing that god knows. Sounds to me that a head gasket has gone. Because if it was the water pump and or the radiator it would be leaking from the front of the motor. Best get it towed. Stop driving it. Take it to your mechanic.

  10. I'm having the same dilemma. Your in the same boat as me mate. I love my GTR to bits, however, it IS getting a bit long in the tooth so I'm considering something newer with a factory waranty etc. I just spent a shitload of money rebuilding my motor so it seems financially insane to sell it right after I have forked out so much money on it. I suppose if I manage to sell the car, the new owner will be one lucky ****!
  11. As the topic says, I am currently considering selling my car, however I am in no rush to sell it, so I thought I would just see if this thread would generate any GENUINE interest. Car was bought 3 years ago when it had 80,000kms and has been garaged in the country just south of Perth for the majority of that time (read: country kms). The car now has 155,000kms. However, in the previous 15,000kms the following has been done to the vehicle. Please note, all engine modifications are brand new....less than 5,000kms. ARP rod bolts Aftermarket Bearings HKS Metal Gasket kit N1 Oil Pump New Crank and pullies Brand new R33 GTR Water Pump (replaced a few days ago) Tomei Sump Baffle Kit N1 Turbos (0.64 housings) RB25 Air Flow meters Nismo 555cc Injectors Head has been shaved and polished and modified for aftermarket JUN cams. These have not yet been fitted but can be fitted at buyers expense. ($1500). Brakes: Front rotors machined DBA Slotted rear rotors Ferrodo DS2500 Pads Additional Info: 17inch 3 piece Stern Rims. Bridgestone S03 tyres. 255/40/17. Plenty of tread. Xtreme Ceramic Brass button clutch. 2500lb P/Plate. Car has been dyno'd with a very conservative tune resulting in 402rwhp on Perths OVABOOST (Formaz) dyno. Genuine 11second car but has not been tested with current level of modification as yet. Car has been maintained to a high standard. Lots of money been spent on it. Will consider swapping for a newer/late model performance car, plus cash. (Depending on car). Car is also due to appear in a club mini feature in HOT4s in a couple of months. 42K ono PM me if interested.

I'm just going to give the idiots a call once everyone is open again and just try and get an explanation, because at the moment, I am still unaware if they have or haven't actually issued me with a fine? I really don't give two shits about the fine, it's the issue about the jealous ****wit who was abusing his power. Have to see whats happened on their end before I go doing something about it though. Reason I ask this is because most places where you and I live have pretty secure garages, carparks etc. Les: Sorry to hear mate. Hope the coppers catch the scum that stole all of that stuff.   17. I wouldn't mod it until your certain the motor is ok. I'm only saying this as I have read that you have only recently received the car. Nothing worse than spending money modding, and then have your engine fail. Been there.....done that.

  22. Hey everyone, Just thought I would post something up here in regards to something that happened to me the other night in Northbridge. Anyways, its quite lengthy but I need to know where I stand. The other night my girlfriend and I drove into Northbridge to pick up some take away food. So I parked the car in a car parking lot right near Auto Masters in Northbridge. This specific spot was a five minute park area so I thought I would leave it there because I was just going to pick the food up and come straight back. No harm in not paying the additional money for a ticket right? Also seeing as it was nearly 10pm and Northbridge wasn't busy because it was on a Monday night. Anyways as we are walking back there is a young contracted parking insector (non city of perth parking inspector), standing right beside my car. I approached the man and he basically got shitty with me and asked if the car was my car. I said yes, so he cracked the shits and tore off the ticket and threw it on the ground. I thought he was such a rude &^%$, but I got over it and picked up the ticket he had thrown away as rubbish. Anyways the next day I thought I had better actually call up and find out if this ticket was going to actually be processed (just incase this prick was to hand in the copy of the ticket to try and have me shafted). They basically told me that they will call me back. Three days later and no call. Buttonight I thought it better be chased up. So my girlfriends dad phoned them up and asked what the **** was going on. Basically, the story is as follows. The company was aware that this parking inspector had done the "wrong" thing by littering and getting all narky with me on Monday night, so they were waiting for my fine with my rego to be processed. In the end it did, so they caught the fine and asked the parking inspector what was going on. Anyway, he came back stating that he had a shitty day because his motor blew up in his car, and then decided to try and **** me over by "disposing" of my copy of the ticket, so I wouldnt be aware of the ticket, and thus not pay for it. He then went on saying that he did this because if I hadn't of paid the fine, the next time I would go to park there I would have my wheel clamped or the car towed. Obviously costing me a shitload of money (not sure how much) to actually get the car back. He then went on to say that he "didn't like young carnts like me driving cars such as mine". This person from this company gave this information to my girlfriends dad. Where do I stand with this? As this idiot has blatently tried to **** me over bigtime, and it has backfired on him. I obviously have legal grounds because this is in no doubt harrassment. **** these jealous idiots! P.S The bay was for five mintues, but if I was actually more than that time specified, it wouldn't have been long at all, two mins tops. Sorry to those involved if I was....But this isn't my point. /END RANT! :Bang:
  23. That seems about right in my opinion. You should max out at around 300rwkw on a std motor (depending on what spec your turbos actually are). My car makes 270kw at the treads on 1bar, and at 1.3 bar its at 300rwkw. Hasn't been tuned properly as yet because I'm too busy fixing things like radiators, hoses etc, so the maps have only been "cleaned up" just so I can drive it. But once I get it tuned again it should make a little bit more. If your after more power, fit some aftermarket cams and cam gears. This is what is next on my list. That should net some decent gains.

  25. I got mine for the price as listed above. Currently I am making 401rwhp @ 19psi on the Formaz dyno over here in Perth on a very conservative tune, which I've heard is a pretty low reading dyno. No idea on what it will run down the 1/4 but soon to find out. Going to head down in a couple of weeks if all goes to plan. Disadvantages are obviously the whole host of other crap you need to buy to really help wind the turbos up. So if your car is relatively stock then you'll probably need PowerFC, Injectors, Pump to see some good numbers out of your car. But before you do that just check that your engine is ok to begin with. Don't want to go winding it up if the engine is shithouse. Like calvintys said, there are a few differnent types of N1 turbo. Zoom or HPI did a good write up on the turbos and I will see if I can find it, so I can scan it and post it up for all to see. But they basically outlined that the major differences were that: - One variant of the N1 turbo is basically a standard GTR turbo but with steel wheels, - And the other variant of the N1 turbo is a "Group A" spec turbo which has 0.64 housings (same as 2530 I think?). These are the ones to get! From the top of my head the R34 N1 turbo is rated at a higher HP because it has a slightly different spec (read: bigger comp wheel). So it obviously should be good for a little more HP. Hope this clears some of the issues up.
