  1. Anyone had a White R33 GTR stolen recently?
  2. FATGTS-R: I wouldnt bother mate. By the looks of things you wont be getting any answers.
  3. From memory they're around $750-$800. Pretty pricey. Why not just get a pair of RB25 AFMs (the one with the Green label, also RB20DE, RB20DET, RB25DE etc). Theyre 80mm and plug stright in. I got both of mine for $250.
  4. Sorry to hear dude. Condolences for the woman involved. I hope her son will be ok.
  5. Blowing lots of black smoke? Could be an Intercooler Pipe that has blown off. Other than that seems a bit odd.
  6. Even with the N1 pump and baffle in the sump, you shouldnt have any oil feed or surge problems....Hopefully. I havent yet after a track day *touch wood*
  7. I understand what you are all saying in regards to people who are "inexperienced (even though they work in a "reputable workshop") working on cars such as these. I have since taken my car to another workshop. The engine problems I was using purely as an example. I have had many suspension problems, problems with the clutch (clutch pedal box snapped the other day and left me stranded in a busy major intersection), rubber diaphram leak from the clutch booster which casued brake fluid vapours to get into the cabin (not good for your health obviously). All people need to be aware of, as stated before, is that as long as you are prepared to cover the costs, as well as the problems encountered of maintaining such a vehicle (depending on spec of course), then go for it theyre a blast. I love my car to bits, but phark sometimes I wonder why I bother....
  8. Shit! I was there friday night. I know exactly the area you are talking about. Hope both parties pull through ok.
  9. pentae: I had a major service done and to put it simply, once they fitted the new timing belt, the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) was not tightened up correctly, and therefore the nose of the crank was flogged out, and the timing was retared heaps because of the huge movement in the assembly. The belt was stretched and it was basically near total destruction. Not a good thing to happen in anyones books. Second time round I had excessive blow by problems due to an assembly error. That has just been fixed up as the motor has just undergone a full and thorough rebuild. All is well in the engine dept now. Thank god. Be sure to check that the crank pulley is tight after having the timing belt changed (sometimes your mechanic might change it without removing the pulley, but just check just to be sure). I cannot emphasise it enough. I'm currently considering selling the car basically because I am sick to death of piss farting around with it.
  10. P.S The car in that picture you have posted has Victorian Plates on it.
  11. Just be a little careful of the colour codes given out on the forums. I wouldnt want to go spending bulk money to get it sprayed, and then ending up not being the right colour Maybe PM one of the guys on Skylines Down Under? Or the Pro Spec website? A few of the people on those forums/sites have the NUR edition cars in that colour. I'm sure theyd be able to give you the code directly off the plate. Best of luck...
  12. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when considering buying a GTR IMHO. For starters there is the age factor. ****, mine is a 1993 model and I have had absolutely no end of trouble with it. From niggly little things, to catastrophe's such as engine rebuilds (x2). People talk it up about 89 GTRs having minimal problems, but I cant seem to accept this considering my 93 model has caused me so much grief. Additionally, when comparing it to the WRX, just remember that the GTR when delivered to Aus new was around 120K brand new, whereas the WRX is 40 odd thousand. Due to this huge difference in price, in my opinion, prices for parts for the GTR are ridiculous. Just for example, I was driving down south into the country one weekend when I managed to crack the windscreen. I needed a replacement asap. Anyway, I rang Nissan and the guy told me to sit down.......the answer.....a new windscreen with in-built arial was $2, 700! And a normal windscreen without in glass arial was $1, 700. However, I managed to find one for $400....thank god. Basically, owning a GTR in my opinion is much like a hobby....They are a high maintinence car and require lots of attention and a fair whack of money (depending on what you are wanting to do with them). Even if the car is in good condition, chances are you will need to fork out to keep the thing running because stuff breaks....full stop.
  13. Theyre pretty wide (9inch). Not sure if they will. But at a guess, I dont think they'd just bolt straight up.
  14. Looks like it. Bit hard to say. If anyone else is keen maybe a group buy is in order?
  15. I have been looking to buy a new pair of aftermarket seats. But I'm in no hurry to sell my standard pair. Make me an offer via PM if your keen.
  16. Such a friendly and welcoming bunch.....
  17. Exhaust - hopefully the car will already have one. So that saves you some money. Fuel System - Hopefully wouldnt be 1,500. GTR injectors can be had for $300, then just upgrade the pump ($300) then maybe a reg.? Easily under 1k. Be careful with the clutches....Dave and I, as well as JiMiH from these forms have had bad troubles with clutches. We have all broken the clutch pedal boxes, which require re welding once ****ed up. This happened to me the other day at a major intersection, middle lane, clutch pedal box broke.....no clutch. Had to get it towed. So I suggest getting it beefed up when you put a big clutch in it.....just incase it sticks you up
  18. Paul, Long time no speak. Go and speak to jason aka Tool. He has just brought one in and has just slammed it on 18s. Looks hot. Got his throught Prestige so he might have a few things to tell you about in regards to getting one imported. As for your budget for 25k...Im gathering that this is for the car as well as the associated modifications?? If so, you should be able to do it. Just go for a decent size turbo, FMIC as you have said, and all of the other basic mods (filter, exhaust etc). If it still has the RB20DET in it then go for a pair of GTR cams (IN and EX), GTR pump, GTR 444cc Injectors, and adjustable gears, as well as a Power FC. Get this all tuned and you should get some nice numbers. If it makes around 310ish rwhp that will net you a 12. Daves car has done this with very similar sort of power. Hope this helps. Regards, D
  19. I've just gone with a PFC also. Very very happy with it. Only prob I am having at the moment is that sometimes it wont start first time, and when it does, shitloads of "fuel" smoke leaves the exhaust. Any ideas as to how I can fix this? But yeah, everything I would have said, has already been said....so I will leave it at that.
  20. Japwreck....look them up in the phone book.
  21. Hi everyone, Been a while since I have been on the forums, But unfortunately today I was stickered for my headunit. Yes, believe it or not but this is true. I don't really want to go into the details but they overlooked some little things such as the cam gear cover on the front of the motor which has been removed (they didn't say anything about it). However, as I need to go over the pits, I am just trying to source a cam gear cover for an RB26, just in case it is required in order to pass. Does anyone have one of these? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan

  23. As topic states, After a Power FC for R32 GTR. Must be in good condition. Will also take: - Power FC Pro - D - Jetro Whatever anyone has, just need one. Must have hand controller. Cheers
  24. The reason I ask is that the following AFMs have the same Nissan part number: - RB25DET - RB20DET - RB25DE If the part numbers are the same, does this mean they are the same AFM?
  25. Just wondering what the differences are between the RB20 and RB25 afm. I know both are 80mm but is there any difference? Are they the same? I'm looking at upgrading AFMs on my GTR but don't know if I should use RB20 or RB25. Also, how do I distinguish them? Cheers!
