  1. cheers cul, i wasn't sure how it worked, thought it might give it a mind of its own eg. changing lanes at high speeds make u die. but that sounds ok, so i'll proly keep it there
  2. maybe he saved some paint, or got a formula made up, cos if ur trying to match it edge to edge, ie. no mix, then its impossible. but u can guarantee the paint wasn't more than a year old, things like the sun fading etc. try spraying one of the panels in 2 years and see how close it is
  3. so when you're going around a corner at high speeds, the hicas tries to correct the car for you? has anyone crashed from this? People who have had both, hicas and non-hicas, which feels safer for road use? and is the r32 gtr super hicas much different?
  4. ur right, but i was actually talking about stock colours. Good luck matching harlequin paint, it just won't happen
  5. wtf? thats what they quoted me
  6. those are most likely sink backs, the painters use a coat of spray on filler, and if this isn't allowed to dry over time, or baked, then u will get these sinkbacks (wobbly marks). they can just about always be buffed out, just take it back and show them, and they will do it 4 u.
  7. that is fairly cheap, it depends on where u go because some regular panel shops don't like doing resprays, u hav to shop around, $2300, is that to fix all the dents and what not? or just paint?
  8. i'm getting my car soon and they've told me that private importers don't need to do it nemore, which is handy
  9. yeh they were.... for 4 grand
  10. i knew about the curfew their trying to get in sydney which hasn't been finalised yet, but haven't heard of power restrictions for p platers, has ne1 else heard of this, or did u make that up? because owning a r32 gtr may become a problem if thats true, seeing i've got a year left on my greens
  11. it's pretty easy to see who owns which car, it really comes down to what u like. i would get an r32 because the initial price of the car will be like half of a 33, and u could spend that extra moola on the mods
  12. silver is the hardest to match though, u can never get it perfect, even getting it close is quite hard
  13. they are pretty bad, the reason they are cheap is because they use cheap parts and made in korea, would u buy korean parts for ur skyline? hell no, because they're crap. the engines start to rattle at like 40 000 k's
  14. y not an 88 twin cam corolla, good first car, and for that money u could get wheels and system, and that way doesn't matter if u crash it cos u don't lose much, so many ppl crash their first car, also their fairly quick for what they are, and almost unkillable engine (almost), mate had one with 250 000km's and engine still ran well
  15. yeh don't touch the car, just take it to them to do the work, the latest paint job looks a lot better than the last 1, much better peel, don't take it back to that first shop ever again, and hurl bricks through their windows for good measure, this latest problem shouldn't take too long to fix, although u really aren't having much luck with panel shops, what panel shop did u say it was (the first one)? is forrestville insurance company or panel shop?
  16. it looks like those "paint burns" are just buff marks, and they should polish off, but those runs are pathetic and they've just smashed the paint on as if they didn't care about ur car, u should definately tell them to fix it up, because u proly won't get ur money back, even if u do it will take ages
  17. i actually don't have have the car, its more of a future project, but i will be buying the panels separate
  18. hey mate sorry to change the subject but saw the onevia in ur profile, and interested in doing that myself, just wondering about the 180 popup lights, i'm fairly sure they bolt onto the silvia rad support, but what about the wiring for the lifters? is that there or do u have to put it in?
  19. the stick up ur arse has a stick up its arse, i just want to get the thing on road asap, because at the moment i'm riding a pushie to work, ang sick to death of it, i don't want any problems. if u get t-boned ur likely gonna die anyway, and besides the main thing i wanted to know was how they were done, so i can PUT THEM IN. i think u are obviously the one in the wrong forum, seeing as u drive a stagea
  20. true but if u got a second hand door pre 91, then it wouldn't have them, I don't like being called an fwit u mofo, but even still u r right.
  21. cool, no idea what that cyrogenic stuff is, never heard of it, do u drive ur cars on the road? cos like sometime about a month ago maybe i saw two silver gtrs, on george st. on a friday night, thought it could be u.
  22. thanks for that guys, don't know why they weren't there in the first place from the factory, cos if u get in an acco, and get a door from japan, no-ones going to put side intrusion bars in.
