  1. Ok picture time. Reminder that it is very difficult to me (and not really worth my time) to deliver items to a depot. Also as i work over an hour away from home (Mon to Fri) there isn't much i can do about leaving items for a courier to pick up. I'm happy to try work something out if i can though. I need to take a picture of the stocky front bar yet... which btw i also have a stock M35 grill also. Oh and i found my old stock M35 intercooler. Feel free to make an offer on any of this stuff. Cheers
  2. have fun reading this thread first mate http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/252088-m35-manual-conversion/page-11?hl=%2Bm35+%2Bmanual+%2Bconversion#entry7375859 I have read it plenty of times but not having any experience in conversions it's a bit confusing for me... i get a lot of the jist tho.
  3. I think i'll leave that one alone
  4. Political correctness.... It will end us all
  5. Yeah i agree it's certainly slower but It's old man in me that i enjoy shifting gears and the feeling of being involved in the process. Even in manual mode at high revs / boost my M35 isn't that keen on shifting at all... it does with my direction but it just doesnt feel right and is far from my above "cool". I agree that a built auto would be the best from a performance point of view and be all "supercar" like but i would have to draw the line at $$$ at some point (i just get the feeling my line at the moment is higher than others) I always think of it like this... (as i'm good at making money but fairly inequiped at working on my car) 1) The decide on the job i want do (in this case RWD manual + stand alone tuning) 2) I need to know the parts i need plus anything that will be custom made (HELP ME!!!) 3) Someone willing to not only undertake the job but i'd hope be interested in the result So whatever this will roughly cost i decide if i am happy to make that financial committment. I don't think about if it's worth it based on how much the M35 is worth... i work out if it's worth it to me (ie. based on how long it would take to either save that cash or how long it would take to replace it from my finances..) For me based on inital quotes from the tuning side i'm happy to spend that coin. The so far blank, bottomless hole is the manual conversion... if i can get a rough idea of the parts / costs i can make the same decision (which i think i'll be able to fully support). and yes.... it will be cool!! (and no not burn out / sideways cool... that is for commo drivers)
  6. That makes sense Scotty... Plus i'm not building a race car or a drag car or anything of the sort. I'm now building what i consider to be "cool" and to me RWD 6 speed in a M35 is cool. Other people will say that a built auto is "cool". A manual M35 would be a blast to drive in my opinion assuming i can continue to funnel money into it (which i certainly can)
  7. Quoting my own post as the edit option has disappeared.... Why did the forums change what i wrote from "Good L0rd" to "Good son of Rajab" ?!?!? Not that it matters that much.... *edit* It did it again!!!! wtf??!?
  8. Cheers Lee but i have zero desire to keep the auto IF i intend on more tuning with my M35. I know i could build an auto to handle more power but it's the manual i enjoy. People will no doubt ask straight away "Why did you buy an M35 in the first place then???" and to be honest i didn't think i'd be this keen to build the thing as i am. I figured i'd add nice wheels, exhaust and do a few interior bits and be happy but the old modifying bug has hit again and instead of selling the M35 and buying something else (which is still an option) i'd like to continue exhausting options with this car first.
  9. Cheers Dale, the M35 is my main focus for at least the rest of this year so we'll see how i go. Next year i'll be back to house building again so i'd like to get any big jobs done so then it's just maintenance i need to worry about.
  10. I don't really disagree... I saw all the pictures on facebook of the build photo's which was why i spoke to them months ago. The above is what i was told. I agree that if the thing was a success there would be pictures or some kind of vids showing it off.
  11. Is that the one that did an engine swap also? I think he used a VQ30 swap? I remember the one tho...
  12. Yeah i rang them re: what they used for the getrag set up and the bloke told me they ended up staying AWD auto. I love my M35. From the lines of the body to the newly fitted GTR seats but it really needs the manual for me to feel right. My Mrs has no desire to drive it so it's all about me!! AWD seems to bring more issues when converting to manual and i'm more than happy to go RWD. It will take me back to my golden years of driving my R33 and R32 GTS-t's Any information i can gather than might be of use i'll spread around for sure
  13. I have spoken to Mercury. They ended up staying auto as thier customer wanted to hit the thing with more boost / more power and an auto set up suited thier needs better. I'm not that interested in staying AWD to be honest. As far as wanting the ultimate... RWD 6 speed, stand alone ECU wired up and then screw a bit more boost into the thing. Street driven RWD M35 with a responsive-ish 300 kw's (give or take... E85 of course). This would be my goal and i know many before me who have wanted the manual dream have made a decision (for whatever reason) to no go through with it. I still hold hope for more development to make this a reality for me at least. Money is rarely my issue but being happy with the money i spend to achieve a result... thats a different story
  14. I would be very interested ina build thread for the manual conversion. It's still on my most wanted (along with many other people i imagine) for my M35... RWD 6 speed /droooooool I have money!!! Just no workshop, tools or previous expirence
  15. good son of rajab.... yeah would need serious skirts and front bar to match. Wide body the whole thing while you are at it tbh...
  16. G'day folks, Looking to clean the garage up a bit. I'll add photo's when i get a chance. Feel free to make an offer on any of this stuff. I prefer pick up from 5169 Seaford Meadows for any of the larger stuff and if you require me to deliver anything to a depo please check how far it is from me and keep that in mind when you make an offer. PM for more details if needed. Cheers. M35 Black leather drivers / passenger seats. Great condition. Comes with everything from when i had them replaced with R35 GTR seats. - $450 Stock exhaust - Taken off the car at approx 95,000kms. - $150 Stock suspension - taken off the car at 95,000kms - $200 Apexi N1 exhaust (just the muffler) 3inch inlet to i think 4.5 inch tip i think. With a polish would be perfect - $150 Stock M35 injector x6 (no rail) - $150 Stock blue M35 front bumper (has parking aid for added awesome) - $200 I'm sure i have more bits... I'll add what i can when i can. Cheers.
  17. Weight reduction is a beautiful thing
  18. I didn't but i did take notice when i was carrying them and to be honest i would say the weight was very similar. The drivers M35 seat may have been ever so slightly heavier but that may have been due to the air bag solenoid + locking set up... I could barely tell the difference.
  19. It's taken a bit to get use to comfort wise and i am finding myself fiddling a bit with the seat position but i'll get it right. The biggest improvement is the height... so much better as now the rear view mirror doesnt obstruct you view at all through the front window.
  20. ok photo time now that it's finally stopped raining near the beach Everyone has seen an aero front bar before so i only took 1 quick photo. The others are just random pics of the GTR seats. The car is pretty messy atm but due to the weather i haven't had the chance to give it a decent clean...
  21. Just picked up the M35 and first impressions... Seating height is much better imo which was the main inspiration for the seat swap. I'll get a few pics once the sun comes out. The aero front bar is also awesome however one of the driving lights needs a new globe
  22. R35 GTR seats going in today / tomorrow (will provide as much info as i can about the process) Also getting the Aero front bar fitted this week. Next i'll be moving onto making a decision re: what wheels i'd like to see on the wagon. I'm very partial to SSR SP1 / Work Meister's with my only real concern being a daily driver which i park on occasion at my local train station is theift / damage. I might see if i can find something in that similar style which can be eaily replaced incase of damage but i have a feeling i'll just end up with the real mccoy. Would love a set of polished lip / white spoke SSR's. /drool
  23. I have a white one on my desk at work but sadly a cleaner (i assume a cleaner) must have knocked it off my desk some years back as the drivers side mirror is gone
  24. I think we both know this aint gonna happen
