  1. Real world solutions are what we are after, thanks sk. Anyone other than high energy make oil pans for the rb? A. Block off one of the oil supplies to the cylinder head I assume this is internal and would have to be blocked off during the build?..too late for me that one. Just a reminder boys, I would be less worried about engine smoking and oil burning and more worried about low oil pressure @ mucho revs!! Can't think of anything worse to kill or shorten the life of an engine....Right, my new mission is to improve flow from the cam covers back to the sump.......Will keep everyone informed on the solution........ Thanks again team. P.S Anyone done a sump change WITHOUT the engine coming out?
  2. Cubes, interesting...very interesting. Like me now, sounds like you are suffering from oil surge. Don't see to many faulty oil pressure senders. If it was dodgy, I would think that you would be lucky get 170K klm's out of your rb20! In my situation, I was hoping that if I plumbed in a separate oil drain for the head into the side of the sump and got rid of the shared oil drain there would be enough flow back into the sump to stop my surge problems under hard braking after sustained high revs. If your setup has the same surge problems WITH the proper oil drains AND with a standard oil pump, I would think that i would be wasting my time trying this and should move onto the next solution and fit a larger/better suited sump pan.
  3. Monstas4, BINGO! Ran the pcv through a catch can and no more smoke! actually, no oil was coming through the turbo, there is a pipe from the back of the plenum(firewall end) that feeds back into the inlet just in front of the bov.that was the inlet source of oil coming out of the bov,not the turbo! next problem is that my oil pressure has a low pressure moment after sustained high revs then jump on the brakes. I'm thinking n1 pump combined with the rb30 flowing heaps of oil flow rb25 head (some people have been putting in restrictors as these heads need less oil flow than the rb30 apprently)and poor oil drainage back to the sump via the 2in1 system is causing some oil surge...bugger. Time for a bigger baffled sump maybe? Wish me luck lads with my next "tuning" issue! thanks everyone!
  4. Hi Shaun, Coupla Q's What flange is it? will it fit on a standard rb25 manifold If its only 3 months old I assume you have the receipt? Is it still under warranty Cheers Steve
  5. Are they damper adjustable? How hard/soft are they cheers
  6. Wow, a lot of people "stroking" themselves in this thread. Lots of "big" words used as well. Popular words used...ME....MY......Think there is a common denominator here...anyone know what it is?
  7. R31Nismoid, come to the next test and tune @ heathcote and see what a crappy old to4 and a rb30det does dowm the 1/4. Look for the blk s1 r33 doing 11's. Team Spazmod Racing.
  8. I suppose I'm saying if you already have a z32 like i do, give it a try before you cough up for the q45...but...if you have nothing you should go for the q45 just in case. good luck!
  9. BEFORE YOU BUY THE Q45....... Interesting thread guys. I am just about to tune my freshly built RB25/30 and am going to find out how much my z32 afm will support with the current set-up! Matt Loweth, an owner of an rb25/30 (for sale at the mo) on this forum has made around 340ish rwkw with a z32 afm. Correct me if I’m wrong, but its limits can differ depending on how "efficient" the engine is if you get my meaning. Matt does have gtr cams, which may help with this efficiency....food for thought..
  10. Come on..... Plz note this is a XSPOWER turbo http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110947
  11. Product Info guys http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110947
  12. Sorry guys, I should qualify some things. I was interested and was trying to find out who made these turbo's. The buyer was not replying to my requests for info and that combined with other members comments of this brand (no name brand?) made me suspicious. I have done some research and found out the following. -rebuilt with garrett internals - 600hp- WRONG -"the turbo that every1 says blows up from xs-power is the T3 ar50/70"- Doesn't give you confidence that the other models in there range will be any different? But......infairness, It is new, it is unused and I wish him all the best!
  13. DjCano, What's the web site address of the manufacturer so I can get some info?
  14. What's the web site address of the manufacturer so I can get some info?
  15. Oh, I was not aware of that. Is there a problem with these chinese copies? They seem to make 90% of everything else in the world and do a fair job.
  16. Couple of questions, Why does it have a label on it calling it a "turbochager" but not a branding? What Brand is it? If its a garrett or a name brand i am very interested but if its a chinese copy i will have to pass. Cheers
  17. Con't........There was no sign of detonation (The VTune from Crowbar Macaro @ STi in Docklands was spot on) and the bearings had not been "spun".
  18. Engine/Car: S1 R33 gtst Type of failure:Big end bearing/bearings Factors influencing the failure: Competing in motorkhana at the time. Doing constant high g force spins @ sustained high revs State of tune of the engine: STD internals, PFC, FMIC, Hybrid T3/T4 with 48mm external wastegate and 4" turbo back exhaust, Halbro Fuel pump and Malpassi fuel reg, running 18psi Suspension and tyres: Std Oil used and service interval: Castrol R, 5000k General comments: We suspect it suffered some oil surge, or maybe just general wear and tear after running 240rwkw on std internals for a pretty hard 40000 Klm's. 5 mins after race engine had bad knock (under load was OK) but still made a 2 hour journey home. On pull down, one of the bearings was so damaged the rod had some play when all of the rest were just scoured. Fair bit of bearing material in the sump. On the positive side it was a good reason to build the rb30det!
  19. Thanks Guys, All Current Orders Posted Friday 15th.
  20. Good work... Dill! As I have ALREADY asked in this thread, I warmly welcomed anyone that could post a link the manual on the net to do so!!!!!. THIS LINK IS FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE NET VIA BROADBAND AND CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT!! People, please read the post carefully before you make uneducated comments, that includes the kiddies like crybabysiu. Thanks for all the positive feedback via PM guys. For those who ordered last week, all CD's are being sent today! Cheers
  21. Idiot number 02- Hi dik, sorry....... mik. Thanks for your incisive personal comments (against forum rules within the classifieds), really appreciated!. Hopefully there is no pirated software on your computer, CAUSE I AM GOING TO DOB ON YOU!! boo hoo Go suck on a lemon, hey. Thanks to all who have already received my TOTALLY legal and copyright free Manuals.
  22. Gatty, please stick to the forum rules, if you do not want to purchase the item please refrain from making personal comments. But seeing as you felt the need......Mmmmm, I wonder why you no longer supply the cd's......mmmmmm........let me guess....I know!..... It's actually A LOT of mucking around managing all the replies, dealing with the non-genuine inquiries, dickheads AND getting to the post office every second day (not sure about you but I work a 70hr week and its a hassle to get free time). When you think about it sensibly, a couple of extra bucks are not much to ask for the effort. For everyone that has an unlimited download broadband connection, please post a link so others can suck this down. For anyone that does not and wants a copy sent to there door promptly for a lousy $20, please PM me. Cheers.
