  1. I rang my compliance dude today to see if my car would be ready for pick up tomorrow...looks like Friday. Anyway, talking to him I ask "what cat have you put on?" he reply’s with "standard" (it had no cat previously...4" all the way:D) Now I did not specify hi-flow and probably should have, it was booked in for a tune Thursday then moved to Friday to accommodate compliance. Then I was a bit upset when I stopped to think "what’s the point of the tune with the standard cat on?" I have now cancelled tune and need to get my hands on a high flow cat so I get the Tune done ASAP. 1. Where do you recommend I get the cat from? 2. I have no idea on performance differences if any between brands / litre size. 3. What should be a good price to pay for one? 4. Does it need to be 4" since the dump pipe is? I have done a small search on the net and can only see 3" for sale. Excuse my ignorance if this shit is a no brainer. Thanks.
  2. That discription is about right. Is this a good set up?
  3. You think you would have looked stupid... I once refused to get in my car for about 5 min. in traffic because a fark'en HUGE huntsman crawled into my drivers side window that was down about 3 cm and down towards the electric window switch. I stoped the car and jumped out the PASSENGER side and proceeded to do a hissy fit dance for everyone to see. I then saw it in the door seal when got the courage to open my drivers side door and squashed it with my shoe. Anyway, I use the Baygon 3mth spry in door seals, under the bonnet and boot (not on paint) and have never seen one on/in my car for the last 2 years and I park outdoors under a small tree. Give it a go.
  4. Hi First time I jumped in my car and put it into gear from picking it up from the transport co. I almost burst into tears. Sounded great in N while giving it a look over etc.. and letting it warm up B4 driving off in my 4 month wait (was looking forward to it BAD) Anyway, I put it into gear and all I hear is grrgrrrgrerrr in a high pitch. I think...oh SHIT I got a lemon. I have since been told that thats the way it's meant to sound because it a twin plate. I don't have a great deal of knowledge on clutch technology.. is this true, should it sound like it's going to break? It does drive great though. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  5. This is no personal cash cow... how much do you think could be made?... not much... it would be better for the clubs and forum anyways. We could have better events / social nights / BBQ's whatever all helped along by SAU kitty (from proceeds of SAU 2005 calendar) if one exsists. If it all goes ahead I would try to get printing done for somewhere between $8 and $16 per unit (that's about as cheap as it could get for some nice quality print in the volume I think would sell... havent been here long...but we seem to have some tight (_o_)'s) and I'm sure that ppl are not going to want to pay more than say $20 - $25 for a calendar. Not much profit, good profit % but not much mula ya'll! If anyone has good printing contacts that could do better $ please put your hand up. Even better if someone owns a printing co. digital or off-set this could be done at SAU mates rates right? I can picture a SAU calendar in my dunny, next to the phone and office at work... where else do ppl's hang calendars?
  6. I think B4 we get to involved we should get some sort of official SAU blessing. FUNKY if you have looked at this threat please give it your blessing and we can start some serious planning. Kel, you seem like you have some good work related experience in either marketing or something along those lines... please share whatever experience, skills you have (except wasting $$ - marketing ppl are good at that). Slim, JAMESW... offers for help will be taken up and greatly appreciated. If over the next few days more ppl offer there skills and artistic talents toward this project this could be a fine piece of work. Waiting for SAU blessing.. I will send FUNKY a PM tonight.
  7. I will be on the track on the 17th (Driver Training Only) might go 24th also. Will have some nice pics with some luck. Also the cruse on 16th should provide some nice photo op's.
  8. Forget that...it anit going to happen. You on the other hand you could get a page
  9. You guys want to jump in on this...only just starting but will be good if it takes off. You got some very nice pics... anyone got pics with some pit chicks (needs to be your car) Ex-pats in Japan (could save a page/month for Japan) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=52110
  10. James... Your artwork is great. It seems that this "idea" may become a reality. Funky, would you be willing to spread the word on this one (states input if they are interested) and discuss with your SAU peers any red tape that may be encountered with this project + if SAU will offically support this project. Not so much financially if they don't want to... but some revenue will obviously go toward the clubs, forum if it is successful. I have stated in original post I will finance project if enough ppl are interested. More artwork and concepts required! Would be good if each state could produce a calendar to get more members rides on paper. It would turn into quite a catfight if only one calendar was produced (mines better, bigger, faster, i got more rice etc...) I would think a poll submitted by members on who's ride should be included would be the way to go. If it's an annual thing it could be quite a prestigious placement between the SAU community and inspire ppls to get there ride looking good, going fast... whatever tickles your fancy. Anyway enough from me... lets see what can be nutted out over the next few months. FUNKY... with your and SAU's permission of course:D
  11. Anyone one know some nice girls (hoe's) that would be willing to model for such a calendar? Need a :Pimp2:
  12. Fark'en hell man! Any word from your "mate". Take him to the ppls court and if he doesent offer to pay for such a serious smash sell tickets for "WEST DANCE PARTY" venue... WEST'S FRIENDS HEAD... I'll buy one for a $1
  13. Just an idea, anyone ever thought of collecting images of members rides / events and making a calendar? Could be state by state, whole of OZ or both. Could even chuck in a Japan section, some nice pic's in the Japan section... could even put some cars in also:D? It could be a good way to raise funds for the forum or independent state clubs. I am the purchasing officer for my company (inventories), we have a multi-milion account with one of the largest printing companies in Australia and could get some very high quality work done for not to much $ - this option would also require a largish print run (at least 250 units, not worth it otherwise... the more the better) If people are keen I will front the purchase price and send out orders. Other options can also be explored. If off-set is not going to be an option (numbers) I also have multiple digital contacts that could produce a good quality (not as good as off-set) product in small numbers 1 - 100. Someone would obviosly need to do the artwork... seems we have some talented hands in SAU. What do you think?
  14. Sorry to whore the thread... could not help myself.
  15. I'm in, never been to a dyno day (never had my car on a dyno...yet) Getting a tune on Thursay. Should be good to see the discrepancy if any between dynos. I will make payment on the cruse. Does that mean I get to select a time now? If so I will take 11am'ish
  16. Ahh.. Should start reading and stop scanning threads. Depending on how my wallet and I go on the 17th might also go to the 24th if any spots still available.
  17. :cuss: What engine is better? (Nissan) What do you get around in? R - U  with another engine?
  18. Lens flare crazy attempt... go rolled by the closing date also. As you can see my PS skills are about as good and developed as my tuning skills.

  20. Thanks for the info. As I'm a virgin to the track I would also like to know... The numbers that they stick on your car window or door, can they be made and a number picked B4 the day. I ask because I have access to a swag of digital print and laminate cutting tools and thought it would be cool to do up a nice decal for the number (should look good while going around and make for great pics of my first track day) Tyres info is much appreciated. I don't really have road tyres on though. Would you say the same rules apply to semi comp tyres? Better / Worse wear than raod tyres?
  21. I have filled out the entry form for track day and will fax it in on Monday with TBA in all CAM related fields. Hope I get in. On the Maserati Club entry form it states $125 for the day (Roy's original link), Nissan Datsun entry form (snowman's link in VIC section) it's $85. Anyway, it's my first track day and will require a bonnet thing'ie (Roy, can you bring another on the day and I will pay you for it then?) Also need to buy a helmet and fire extinguisher. I have also only driven my GTR a grand totalof about 40km since picking it up (from transport co. to home and home to compliance place, where it's at now) I have never owned such a car B4 and never been on a track, should be fun but I bet I clock the slowest time for the day:) How bad are these track days on tyres? Anyone wanna take a stab in the dark like: 5 HRS Sandown = 5000km normal driving (25% off the life of you tyre) even though it just a training day.
  22. If he was a good friend I can't figure out why he did not tell you he had lost his licence. He sounds like a worm and you should squash it. Farkin get you line back on the road by A. asking him or his family to PAY all the damages B. Sue,Sue,Sue his ass... Has he even offered to pay? If not all at least some of the damages. Bad luck, you sound like a very forgiving person. All the best I hope it works out OK in the end. ** What were you doing driving around without insurance?
