Doctor 30

Im getting the drive shafts repaired and the Skyline run on a dyno this Thursday as I have got my supra FMIC from ebay. If the result is impressive, I'll post. If not I'll be hoping that no one has viewed this post. The guy doing it is Marcus Blythe from Flow Tech EFI in Greensborough.

Anyone that knows where to get parts for R30's in Vic.

He was the one who asked if I wanted rocking horse shit with that, well no he didn't really but he couldn't get the ones to fit the DR/HR30 Any other suggestions

Just gave an R33 GTS a fright. I saw the tail lights from way back and thought I'll chase him down. I thought it might have been the guy with 600hp GTR from down my street, it wasn't . Anyhoo , he sped up a bit to get rid of me but then i got carried away and did a handbrakey round a corner to follow him and he shat himself and pulled into a dead end side street and waited for me to go passed and turned around and went the other way. some people just don't know how to have fun............

needed fairly urgently, they have to suit the R200 diff (or if anyone knows of a way of fitting an alternative I would like to know.

None of you guys has a wife and kids do you? How can you afford all this stuff. My wife needs a ceasarian section for our third child and I can't talk her into taking a risk that she ending up half crippled by having a natural birth so we save the money so I can go buy a bigger turbo for the HR30. Women just don't understand (If the HR30 was first, the DR30 should have been called a HG30)

So what do I do? Get a new turbo (which one? as I am only chasing 300 flywheel hp) Get a bigger IC to drop the temp? Cold air induction? Any info on programming the RB20DET up to make more power would be great too.

As the car is engineered it was put on the weighbridge and was 1100kg . I am only looking for 300hp at the flywheel. That is enough bragging rights against most cars on the road Once I've fitted the supra IC I'll get it dyno tuned and see what happens. (Oh yeah and when I fix my drive shafts which are very rooted)

Yeah I figure that but now I look a bit of a dick with the doctor 30 user name driving an HR. Looks like I'm going to be buying another turbo. What is a good CHEAP upgrade turbo that will bolt straight up and give me 300 horses (I know I am dreaming, I'll probably have to replace a heap of stuff) But at least I am not full of crap about the estimated power.

That's mine!! I sodded off the original wheels. I haggled the guy down to about 6k for it. I thought it was a DR30 although I don't know what the difference is between and HR30 is (I thought the MR30 was the sedan HR30 was the Hatch) but yeah now looking at it you can tell it is a HR30 with bumpers, bonnet etc of a DR30 (you can tell by the tail lights. They are only 250hp but they are only running 8psi, I am running 14.5 psi. So how much is a PSI worth in HP.

What page is it on? I was hoping for 300 fly wheel horse power with the Supra FMIC, Jaustech use to have the same set up but a modified computer rather than the link was the only thing different.

Hey, I don't want to over estimate power and look like a tool. I'll give you the specs and you tell me what you think it is RB20DET ECCS (silver top ) standard power was 162KW running 8psi Standard R32 GTS intercooler (just picked up a supra one for $84) K&N ram pod (sucking hot air) 3" mandrel bent exhaust Link engine management (no lamda sensor) 14.5 psi max boost from 3200 to 7000 rpm (unless it screws up like it has been) GTR sticker (only joking) Dont know if anything else has been done to it but I assumed these mods would give at least 25kw therefore giving me 250 hp. Once I have the supra IC it should run to 15psi easily and tuned with cold air should apparently give me 300hp. If I am wrong let me know

I'd appreciate that info too. I've go a pod style K&N filter but I didn't buy it so I don't have any instructions

DR30RS The reason of putting an RB into the car is very very obvious! It was already in the car!!!! I wouldn't have cared if it had the L20T in it. Other than the dud directional stability they are just awesome. I would probably rather the FJ20 because it has the simple computer that I know how to work it. But I do enjoy the estimated ~250 horses from the RB and the 8L/100km that it does on the freeway. I'll put some pics up soon

I need the window rubbers where the Bpillar would be if it had one. If you have a dr30 you will know the ones I am talking about. I need my drive shafts recoed or replaced but the R200 diff apparently hs different splines. My LSD doesn't limit any slip anymore, It would be nice to know who in melbourne can tighten it up. I am an extreme tight a s s so Please don't suggest that I fly over to japan to get them. BTW, Any suggestions for getting cold air under the bonet?

Guys, I have a dumped DR30 white with an RB20DET. It has a Link computer and WAW zenner wheels 16" with 225/50 tyres. It has a big selby sway bar on the front and the lower control arms extended by 7/8" as told to do by datsun performance centre. Handles like a champ. I have 2 probs though and I'll ask for help in the other sections. Great to see some others that share the ecstacy of the DR30.

My DR30 runs 14.5psi from the RB20DET when the engine is cold to just warmed up but as I drive it steadily drops to 11psi (9 psi when it is hot summer.) Is this a cracked turbo casting, a dodgy waste gate or under bonnet temps causing it to struggle (no cold air induction on this, all straight from the radiator). Sometimes it boosts a PSI higher before it drops down to its set level which makes me thinks the computer is sensing detonation and bleeding pressure in response. Has anyone had these problems with a R32? Are there any common problems with this engine & turbo (My RB20DET is the silver top ECCS which is from the R32 GTS) Thanks Robert

Does anyone know of someone that recos drive shafts or that would have DR30 drive shafts? (In Melbourne) The R200 diff has different splines to the R180 so I can pinch them of an MR30 or R30. (Or is the guy from Nispares telling porkies) Thanks Robert
