Guys, a coupe of updates on the question of GPS MAP updates on our GT-R's. Dealer confirmed 1. Nissan Aust has told them they are soon to announce a MAP update for previous GT-R Models (Post April), 2. The Dealer confirmed the MAP version of their MY13 GT-R on their Showroom Floor is Map Version 11-12.. (My Sept 11 Build GT-R is Map Version 10-11) Lets hope that Nissan Delivers on this.. Mike..

Guys, be weary of this 1. If you are paid for the service you are Technically operating as a Limo without the appropriate Limo License and 2. Your insurance company will claim you are operating the GTR Commercially, rather than the private policy I am sure you're GTR is covered. I have heard this from another Car Club i was with that had been asked to do the same and we were warned about potential consequences. I assume if you are not being "Paid" for this and invited as a Guest of the wedding it may not be a problem..

Guys, thanks for the confirmation, given the amount of electronics in this car, amazing they havent updated the software / firmware as ongoing maintenance. Wardski, funny you mentioned about GPS updates, I asked the Dealer to check with Nissan Australia, answer back : " Nissan does not have any GPS updates available for my Car" . I asked two additional questions : 1. Does Nissan Aust. ever intend to provide GPS Map updates for the GT-R and 2. What is the level of the Map Updates for newly delivered 2013 GT-R's.. (are they using the same 2010 Maps?) Mike..

Hi, I had my GT-R in for its initial 2000km POS at the Dealer i purchased the car from, I asked them as part of the service if they check for any Software /Firmware updates on the Car's computers/ecu's etc.. The GT-R mechanic told me they have never done any Software updates since he has been servicing GT-R, which i thought sounded a little strange given updates applied on previous cars that i have owned in the last 10 years. Does Nissan not release new SW Updates on the R35 ?

Nismo83, you are spot on with your analysis.. A lot of multinationals work at a Plan rate for currency to set their Local financial model for year or two. This can go both ways with depending which way the currencies move.. All the other political BS above by the other two contributors have nothing to do with the currency rates with Japan or the price of GT-R's for us in Australia. The other thing to add is Nissan Australia and its HP Dealers have invested big $ in GT-R R35 and I wonder if you look at the small number of them in Australia, whether it has been a very profitable deal for all.

Mark, Congrats on your GTR.... I am also a new owner, and there are all sorts of noises from my GTR that the dealer took me through when I picked it up during delivery, obviously a standard practice to make sure new owners dont get too worried on the noises. So i am not sure you need to be worried. Remember at startup / idle the drivetrain is turning to the rear gearbox which is in Park.. There are also those odd noises you hear driving at slow speeds or parking etc.. As you know its not a traditional Auto, as it engages those dual clutches and three differentials.. Ask the Dealer to check if you are still worried.. Good Luck..

Lidz, yeah thats for the MY08-MY10 GTR (US MY09-MY11) which is wanted by some of the group, but there is a few of us who also want the same part for MY11-MY12 (US MY12-MY13) which is different .. I notice that Concept Z didnt have the later model for sale.. I finally got a very apologetic response back directly from Stillen overnight confirming they could package 4 of these into a single box (68"x26"x7"), but they havent confirmed the freight back to me which i have asked them to confirm. Amazing there isnt any Australian Retailer that sells it.

Guys , I have tried 4 separate emails to Stillen after my original Email prior to XMAS about bundling a shipment up for multiple members.. I havent heard anything back from Stillen despite many follow ups... I dont understand whats wrong, or whether its just they took an extended holiday over XMAS.. The last Quote i got from Kevin Romero from Stillen was $450USD Freight for a single Skid Plate was on Dec 20th 2012, I have sent him and other contacts at Stillen the request they bundle multiple Skid Plates in the same box for the $450 USD.. (Its not weight, its Volumetric Weight for Freight company that determined the price..) I have almost given up , given poor customer response they have shown after 4 weeks.... Mike..
