sorry to be of tipoc in my own thread but, Roy, Is that your Silver R32 at ICE Performance?? i saw it there a few times when i was getting work done on my car... and what is lag like on the RB20 when u start going for bigger turbos? Thanks for the response guys....

I just wanted some opinions on a Motor upgrade for an R32 GTST, here are the options at the moment: its a mates car that has done about 100,00km, 5spd, which is totally standard. The goal is for about 250rwkw and the budget is about $7,000 - $10,000 The Standard mods will be done which include: Full exhaust Front mount Computer, maybe PFC? Boost controller Now here is where the confusion starts..... where to from now on?? Options: 1. Leave in the RB20 DET, bigger Turbo, injectors, AFM, etc, and see how long it lasts then rebuild with forgies etc 2. RB26 transplant but there wouldnt me much money left in the budget for mods 3. The much talked about RB30/25 motor..... fully rebuilt What i would like to know is what do u all think of the 3 different options and which turbos would u use with the RB20 and RB30/25??? or does anyone have any better or cheaper options / opinions.....?? i would agree, most important is a nice pair of splits for the front, i love Focal's whatever range suites your budget run off a nice amp.... Buy some 6.5in rears just for rear fill, and run them off the deck if you are running out of money, and i have found that the Clarion Subs are dirt cheap and produce fantastic results... they also dont need a huge amp to run, they come in single and dual voice coil... Anyway, my 2c Good luck!

I saw OBEHVE at calder last night..... what a monster!! Black R33 GTST What is its best time??? i have done a search and it seems like a well known car but couldnt find a consistent time.... A young guy was driving it but it looked like he couldnt get the power down for a while, but when it picked up, christ did it move!!!! I saw under the bonnet, looks like BIG dollars have been spent on it.....

thanks guys, its really just 1st gear that worries me, not just the launch but when on full boost in 1st gear it axle tramps....

Anyone heading to Calder 10.09.04??? I might try out my new mods, and see what im like behind the wheel at the same time...... Any tips?

Reading off the Dyno Graph, i gained about ~13rwkw on the same boost, which is 10psi... so in the end i got 187.3rwkw 10psi, PFC, Front mount and Full exhaust.... it doesnt sound like a huge gain but most of it was in the midrange!! Very big difference... I am taking it back next week for 'pinapples' as it axle tramps heaps in 1st when it hits full boost and ill also bump the boost up 2 about 12psi or what ever ICE recommend is safe... 2 days after the PFC went in my clutch gave up, started to slip in gear at about 3000rpm, having never done it before, goes to show the midrange gain... They installed a new clutch this week and ill be back next week to have it retuned... I am looking forward to see how the pinapples perform.... Are any of you guys going to Calder 10.09.04?? im thinking of running with the new setup with a couple of mates....

i bought a PFC off them and had them install it and tune..... thats it really, i already had a full exhaust front mount and bleeder.... They also removed a silencer that i had in the exhaust that i had no idea was there..... the car is f*#king loud now....... its also comforting to see a couple of 10sec cars in the workshop, they wouldnt be there if they didnt know them back to front... Great guys, they had heaps of time for me to answer my questions and concerns..... the PFC cost $1550 ($1050 for the computer and $500 tunning) supplied, installed and tuned, when i rang i was wanting to ask a few questions but when i heard the price i had it booked in less than 24 hours later with the job done! ill be going back there very soon!

Just had an Apexi Power FC installed and tuned by Ice Performance, it was the first time i had been there and i must say that i would recommend ANYONE to go there.... The guys down there are fantastic and i give them a big thumbs up! I will be going there for the next mod without a doubt! Oh, and they did a great job on my car! massive difference right through the rev range

i bought my rims from The Tyre Factory near Southland, good price and customer sevice but make sure your check the rims properly after the install b4 you hand over the cash... Lets just say i was lucky i did!!

Thanks guys, it was just freaking me out a little seeing it so high on the oil pressure guage..

On my last service I used Penzoil 10w-50 i think, and every morning when start my car the Oil Pressure guage is at 8, after driving for a while it drops to normal.... Previously i used Castrol 5w-30 while gave lower pressure all round but never gave a high reading i.e 8... Is this normal??
