    really sorry

no ban, just some unhappy people. all settled in my book.
  2. You goose. Tassie has Targa. Stay right where you are. What were you thinking.
  3. Oh, and you all have to be at the Mt Cotton Driver Training Centre, on Mt Cotton rd, Mt Cotton at around 7:15am on the day. you have been warned! Ill have a definite time soon.
  4. kryz gave me the measurement, ill double check it today, then contact you loonies.
  5. If anyone has any leftover/extra/unused 3" intercooler/exhaust piping and/or silicon/rubber hose that they don't need/want/desire/utilise, please let me know. Only need about 50cm/half a metre/500mm/roughly 20inches I think. Thanks slip qld president son of rajab of the bin scabs. :aroused:
  6. you could try 215's. im using 205's on my 7" front wheels, they are fine.
  7. Try stiffer springs and shocks. Springs are compressed by the weight of the car, loads. it takes a certain amount of kg to compress a spring 1cm. stiffer spring, takes more kg to compress it 1cm. Shocks are there to control the compression and expansion of the spring. Softer shocks will allow the spring to be compressed faster, and spring back faster. stiffer shocks slow this down.
  8. I think youll be fine IF you gain a thourough practical understanding of how the GTR will behave in loss of traction situations. As long as you know the car, and can control it, (and yourself) you'll be fine.
  9. I drove this car the other night. Revs right out to the rev limiter in 2nd, with the gear stick in D. Revs a lot higher than i was expecting. Sounds brilliant, very good traction off the line, and even punching out of T intersections. The steering is all f*cked up, but its good fun to drive. Auto better than I thought it would be. Good fun. I don't believe the neighbours enjoyed it as much as us. 10pm + idiots in a V8 at high revs with an nice exhaust. I am going to officially nominate John for Australian of the Year. When confronted with the question of how to make his Skyline faster, he did the most Australian thing possible. " Stick a V8 in it mate!" And an auto one at that. As if it wasnt wierd enough seeing a V8 in the engine bay, the runners/plenum make it look like an FWD configuration. just add brakes, and this'll be a wicked car.
  10. Keep a close eye on this thread knore, ill let you know if anyone pulls out.
  11. slamm's the final addition. skidpan full. keep your eyes on this thread if you missed out, as someone may need to cancel/pull out, you'll be able to take their spot if that occurs.

  13. mine was green. my car wasnt actually defective, but i told the cop it was so he wouldnt bust me for doing what he saw me do. gave him 3 excuses, he liked the one where my rear shocks were buggered, so i cleaned them, took the car in to the cop shop, he tried to bounce the back of the car, it didnt bounce, so he said "alright" and that was that.

  17. i got a defect notice, rectified the defect, took the car in with the defect notice to the cop shop, and that was it. no fine. whats the usual procedure?
  18. yes. the skidpan is 4hrs, the lvma is 4hrs, and we get a lunch in between. lunch was quite good last time. Only paying drivers get lunch of course. LVMA is more time attack, but there will be some big slides pulled as things get a bit silly.
  19. 9 Spots filled, Hilly being the latest addition.
  20. What are you doing revving it under 3000rpm in the first place? You will rip through the midrange and top end quicker, and have to chance gears more. Gear changing especially on a mountain run, you'll have to shuffle the box more. You have to remember that the power delivery of the car has an influence on how long it takes to get from 0-3000rpm, its not a bottom end torque monster. Shortening the gearing has other consequences. It'll rev higher @ 100kmh, will use more fuel most likely, gear changing as mentioned. I would keep it as is if it's good over 3000rpm.

  22. R32 Drifter - no dramas, I am also blunt. LVMA - picture a 150m x 150m flat bitumen area. There are little bubblers on the surface that release water to make things interesting. some bits are dry, some are wet.... We set up a slalom with a diamond at the end, so its like a slalom/motorkahna hybrid. You do laps up and down that. The whole area is covered with cones that make out a track, the slalom is used as the start of it. That is the 2nd time trial on the lvma, after the slalom. We used to do a braking section on the other side, 1 group would do this, while the other did the slalom, then swap, then all do the big track. I will be replacing the braking session with another motorkahna style time trial this time. The good thing about it is, theres nothing to hit but cones, so you can push the limits, and it's seriously fun, especially as a passenger. You need to use finesse, and be smooth to be fast, but you can also just go nuts, look great, but thats usually slower. http://photos.yahoo.com/___scythe___ for some photos. most are of the skidpan, but there is one on the lvma i think, its where im on dry bitumen. Updated list. 1. slip 2. belgarion 3. kryz 4. gary 5. jlnewton 6. strutto
