Its very hard to get banned. Boxhead repeatedly caused problems, despite multiple warnings. Long term thing.

    Oh, and I mean massive.

    The Qld Club

Yeah, spoke to a potential sponsor today, they are still reviewing it. Seems the other supplier difficulties are going to be sorted. Who knows..... Unfortunately for us, its an expensive waiting game. Once its all sorted (and its 90% done) there will be a massive event, and everything will be sweet. The club has run in this format for years, successfully, so dont worry kids.
  4. Air in the brake lines. Fluid and pads may not be up to the task.
  5. Sounds like its detonating/pinging. The CAS (crank angle sensor) has probably not been put back on in the right position, this is how it works from memory. >>>>>What you need is to get someone who knows what they are doing to back the timing off (retard it) and see if the noise stops.<<<<< Yes the noise is bad if its what we think it is. Do not run anything under BP 98.
  6. Hey phillip, you are welcom to bring the sti on a cruise if they GTR is in bits.
  7. On your mountain bike or bmx nismo boy?
  8. That was sweet. Thanks everyone for rocking up. Steve - you are a bastard, and you know why. Or should I call you Carlos Sainz..... s13viper - we love the mountains.
  9. I disagree. You dont want to be 90 degrees to the corner after the corner. You want to be parallel with the exit line if its a single corner drift. If you are at 90deg to the corner AFTER the corner, you are totally sideways when you want to be straight. "Originally posted by PHaT MR30 Jap drifting is about being 90 degrees to the corner. before, during and after the corner. doing a skid round a corner and kicking the back end out is not drift Hit the nail on the head there... "
  10. Well it could have short gears, and use a tall diff gear.

cgu wont touch me - mods.
  12. If you bring a helmet, you wont have any bruises or cuts to show off afterwards. Silly boy.
  13. When getting prices on suspension bits from a retailer, compare the prices with the supplier if you can. A major susp place up here didn't fare too well when i compared there prices with the same thing direct from whiteline/k-mac. Same with repco, $140 more per rotor for DBA than another supplier.
  14. I work in the car industry and here's what I reckon. 1. When you buy a new car, and take it somehwere (pedders/mechanic) and tell them that youve just bought it, most of the time they will pick the shit out of the car. Pedders = $$$$$$$$$$$$$ ! 2. I would put money on that car being wound back here or in Japan. 3. Any car you are looking at buying, PAY to get a mechanic you know/trust to check it out first. (if you are on really good terms you may not have to pay) If you just get some random dude mechanic to check it out you never know. 4. RACQ (qld) will find something wrong with any car, they were caught out finding problems with brand new car on some TV show apparently. It is their job to find things wrong with a car. Might be too hard on the car. 5. When dealing with them when you have a drama, stay calm, cool, and don't cause a scene. This will get you a long way, and if it doesn't, just get consumer affairs/fair trading on the phone to them, but dont go making threats straight away. So basically go No. 3, and get a car with real k's, drive it before you sign the paperwork (with the new wheels on in this instance), and keep control of the situation.
  15. Wouldnt a supra box be a better option if you wanted a 6 speed? changing gearboxes to get higher top speed is like doing surgery when all thats required is a band aid (diff ratio change)
  16. Ok, october is OUT. Will hear back about the first sunday in november early next week. Then we can start booking spots. heres a preliminary list 1. slip 2. gary 3. belgarion 4. motox 5. white r32 6. 4 doorz 7. mick51
  17. Dude, just put a taller diff ratio in. Easy. Youll also be able to hold a gear longer which can help in mountains/track driving. The 6 speed commodore boxes do not get a good rap in drive tests. Bad idea.

Try Famous Car Insurace (theres a thread in general discussion, i think its a "sticky" thread) They sponsor the NSW branch of the club. For my R31 non turbo thats worth 7k MAXIMUM the best quote I can get is 1200 with about 1k excess. Being old has its benefits! Welcome to the fray Muz.
  19. I sell cars and its no fun telling people they are paying 370 or something for 6 months reg and then dealing with them when we arent the ones charging them for it.
  20. Even better, I'll roll one out for the car, and then one out for you
