  1. Hey guys, there will be a Saturday night cruise on the 16th of August. I will arrange a Brisbane meeting spot, cruise to gold coast to meet with the Coast people, Dinner with everyone once we get there, and then we might cruise to the beach, then a bit of a leisurely drive over a mountain. I will post some concrete details up soon, but this is just to let everyone know that its on. Look forward to it kids. OH, and my car has had a full respray, so if anyone wants to see it
  2. Dave - lukes car (abu53) the gunmetal 32, with the bilstien coilovers and otherwise stock running gear, wheels included, it slides easily and smoothly. Get the ass end out, and flick it back the other way, theres no real body roll, just a smooth slide, ive never felt a 33 act like that, its fantastic. Go an old 180 with SR20/R32 + drift suspension, fmic and basic power upgrades. Would suit your lunatic attitude more than a semi stock auto 33 No LSD = no dry drift for me You are right, lots of dreamers/talk, noone actually does it, hard to fill up a skidpan day.....
  3. Thats just the best picture ever. He is turning across your path, you should have right of way.
  4. Just get slotted dba discs or someting.

Erin - its on the 'to do list' already Is he open sundays?
  7. Heh, if it was to keep my car, id be interested in help desk work. Crappy jobs can be easy to get in Bris, the good ones a bit harder... You could try getting a job that still allows a bit of spare time for you to hunt around for a quality position, while still giving you the funds to keep your car. Good luck.

Smoothline - Seems zoix has been assigned to your post? I think i edited it once. Chaos - because it was a good example, and when you involve yourself in a thread like this, me using you in an example is more than fair. Someone can use me as an example not a problem, because I am involved, like you. Nothing against you personally, and I was happy with your PM.

    Hello!

Yeah, make sure you come out to some of the events, especially the off-road (not on dirt of course) skidpan/track days, or Mountain Runs...
  10. Last skidpan day with timetrials - fastest skyline overall - R31. Open diff, in the wet. werd pete.
  11. Bought a CD that cleans the lens from JB Hi-Fi, $17.95. Dont know if thats a good price or not but i was going on a trip and didnt care. Any CD would skip in the head unit, put the cleaner cd in and it works perfectly now. So if you have that problem, its a cheap and easy first step.
  12. Wing - Slotted rotors with good pads and good fluid ($30 a bottle) works great. Braided road legal lines - even better. If youre using slotted you dont really need cross drilled. Im talking from experience with the DBA slotted rotors you are referring to.
  13. Slotted rotors/Pads/fluid/lines will make a good difference. There are apparently different sized 33 rotors as far as diamter goes. DBA has had some fun with this issue.
  14. could be the overlap issue, i had that on the 31. Try the anti-squeal stuff locutus recommended, and while the pads are out, sand them back. If that doesnt fix it at least youve eliminated all those options.
  15. Dude, do you know what an AFM is? You've just asked if youll need a bigger AFM to support the larger AFM.
  16. RB25DET Neo would be nice. Not cheap though. If it was driven hard on track or timed events I would look at an SR for the weight/handling befefits.
  17. Right stud pattern, brake clearance and offset only issues probably.
  18. I think Tze doesnt like his, you could probably buy it off him when he gets back from Singapore. Send a PM to "rb26dett" and ask him if he wants to sell his gear knob. They are nice to drive with.

    Cheap clutch

Luke got his from Direct Clutch I think. Nice unit.
  20. Very reliable if you get one thats not about to fall apart. Engine is the strong point. Handling is the weak point. Good pads and fluid and your brakes will be alright Make sure its a manual, and watch the diff. A VERY sloppy/noisy one will probably need replacing. Most whine with some slop anyway. You can get decent ones for under 4k.
  21. You dont need a performance shop to do your brake pads, try a brake specialist, or go the standard Midas route.

    Hello

On the other side of the fence, the GTR is a very capable car, and its limits are much greater than a VN or kia rio, so at normal/sane speeds, the GTR will be pretty safe. Its only when you start trying and pushing the car that you'll get yourself into trouble.
  23. Waz - there are different types of superchargers, PD blowers act in the way you describe. To get a storming bottom end you may have to trade off your top end. Can be a hassle to fit. Probably easier to go a half cut, gotta try and sell your engine though, not a big market for them.
  24. GTS, the non turbo 4 stud ones from a 33 or 32. Does anyone know if their exact specs? 15x6, 16x7 ??? And offset if possible. Thanks guys.
  25. My friend bolted the stock turbo hardware to his 33 GTS with a link ecu and STANDARD shitbox intercooler. Went well (refer to my first post). I drove the car and it was very smooth. Non turbo injectors. 6psi max. Use a decompression plate if you want to get the compression ratio down a bit, but Matt's car was very driveable and smooth. Whoever told you that bolting the turbo manifold to the head would be a problem is a goose, because they are the same head basically. Its relatively cheap and easy, if you think about it.
