  1. Check the Events forum guys, and post up if you are coming. :burnout:
  2. ok, so youre going to do all the same mods, but use an old pd type supercharger instead of putting a turbo and manifold on? Turbos and 2nd hand manifolds are cheap. Youve gotta mount the supercharger too so thats going to cost.
  3. With a skyline, all the turbo parts are readily and cheaply avaliable, youre probably better off just using standard stuff. Ive been in a 32 and 33 that have had this done, they were both good. the 33 was using non turbo injectors and a link ecu, and a maximum of 6psi boost. The RB25DE have a 10.5:1 compression ratio which is not too boost friendly. If you had a front mount intercooler you might be able to go higher. Very smooth power delivery, nice midrange, gave it that 'pull' that it needed. A crappy old toyota supercharger = meh. Go for a centrifugal style, its like the front half of a turbo thats run off the pulley, and you set the rest up like a turbo setup. It would cost more than doing a turbo conversion if you do it right with ecu etc, because of the purchase price of centrifugal supercharger and mounting hardware/labour.
  4. bov or air going back to the turbo probably. rb20det i take it?
  5. SS8 - a zonda has twin bike engines and revs to 50,000rpm? There is no bike engine I know of that revs past 20,000rpm, and I owned one of those. I thought the Zonda was a V8/V12. Ive got it in a magazine somewhere actually.
  6. Strawberry face 180 with R32/33 brakes all round would be nice.
  7. We dont have a state/national/d1 drift competition set up, we are a long way behind japan.
  8. My alternator sounded like it was about to pack it in more than a year ago, and sounded bad leading up to that. Sounds ok now, no idea why. Bryan -- get under the bonnet and look at whats connected to what, there is no wiring going to your turbo, so theres no way the alternator could stuff it!
  9. nismoman - cams, headwork, tuned ecu, extractors/full exhaust (designed for power and not sound), higher compression pistons (11.5:1- 12:1 maybe) bore the motor out, have it blueprinted, fully balanced, stroke it, make the intake charge as cool as possible. You could opt for a 6 butterfly throttle system like the GTR's have, these are popular for hardcore n/a motors. The above mods would end up costing bucketloads. Lots. Heaps. You are better off buying a centrifugal supercharger, possibly fitting a decomp plate, intercooler, ecu and injectors in my opinion. More power from n/a costs $$$ for relatively small gains usually in the skyline world.
  10. Sounds like it was your throttle position sensor, you need to make sure that its reading full throttle so that its in the right spot, i believe you can adjust them.

    Hello

Buy a 32 GTST and learn to drive first.
  12. Bozza - that conversion would almost be considered a downgrade. The RB20DET has bugger all torque, and when combined with an auto transmission it will hurt driveability. I would only consider this conversion if you used a manual, but youre really just better off turboing the rb30. The diff in your VL will make the car very lifeless if its a 3.45 or something like i think it is. The R32's have a 4.11 diff. You have to look at the end result that you get for what you spend, in the end youll get a less driveable car. Generally - an auto is worse than a manual, and id say especially in the case of an rb20det. How many auto race cars do you see (apart from drag cars which are only run flat out) ? Drive an rb20det auto (or even a manual) and youll see what I mean. My RB30E R31 Manual doesnt get beaten too badly by RB20DET cars. Turbo the 3L for best results. (not talking my car up either, its a shitbox.)
  13. we still havent got an explanation have we?
  14. Oh yeah, refer to the new thread in the Events forum.
  15. put it in the for sale section.
  16. Ok 5th july it is. I will sort it out and post up a new thread.
  17. Marc u need to put a lighter rider on it, like me, who is lighter. I am keen if i have the car back from paint by then.
  18. heh, my car starts to idle rough, then gets to a stalling stage, then is suddenly fine, its done it a few times. skyline = shitbox.
  19. Steve - you are so whipped! Just bought a fixed bucket seat, cobalt blue, very nice!
  20. check to see that your throttle cable is fully retracting, just play with the throttle body under the bonnet.
  21. dude i have s03's, they are a high end road tyre, they are NOT a track tyre/semi slick.
  22. How do you guys feel about sunday arvo/evening? 5th july or something.
  23. Dates? Get your own you lazy bastards, im not going to go out and pick up for all of you. Early July I think.
  24. Um, you can also just get a brake/clutch shop to rebuild it. About 80-90 dollars, they bore it and put a new rubber kit in there so its pretty much like new.
  25. PVA you forgot to include a normal R31 in the vote. An R31 GTS is a limited edition australian car, and theres also the imported non turbo R31.
