i come from an n/a backgound. by your definition (which might it add may be relevant to something else in a technical capacity, makes no sense when applied to this subject) - anything that adds a mechanical or chemical component into the airstream is not NA.....so if we take the common petrol combustion engine, where petrol (a chemical) is added into the airstream as a combustion fuel, then this is not NA? If you run a car on methanol, is this not NA? (just to make sure - yes they are NA) How does running a car on methanol, or nitrous, differ from running a car on petrol? Fuel is fuel. There are many types of fuel, LPG, methanol, petrol, deisel, avgas etc. as previously stated, in this case, you have either forced induction, or NA. Nothing to do with fuel type. you could run your car on banana peels, it'd still be NA. it is referred to as chemical supercharging because drag racing, and in fact motorsport in general has very strict rules aimed at parity and equality. so someone that is using nitrous would be able create more power than the same setup without it, hence the term - you are chemically affecting the charge and the force created, but not the atmospheric pressure of the intake, it still breathes naturally with no turbo or supercharger.

scathing - if a motor is not naturally aspirated, then it is forced induction. Forced induction = supercharger, turbo, which pushes air into the motor. Nitrous does not force more air into a motor, it is simply injected along with the fuel, so a nitrous non turbo RB25 would be naturally aspirated.

Better Tyres Or Wider Tyres?
slip replied to lastlineofdefence's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i used to spend $225 per tyre, for 205/55/16 Bridgestone S03's. Going to a larger diameter, lower profile, and wider S03 would have been awesome, but going bigger + lower quality would have been a bad choice. go with good rubber. -
Reason for sale : As per previous for sale threads, car was crashed, and just got around to pulling the motec out. It is an M4. Was on an RB25DET. Obviously it could be adapted to many applications, be it rotary, 4, 6cyl. But if youve got an RB25DET or RB30DET, it would be plug and play. Even RB20DET or RB26DETT should be easy to plug in to. This ECU uses a MAP sensor, which means NO AIR FLOW METERS. Full setup including CAS, fuel pump wiring/relays to run factory fuel pump as a lift and external bosch pump, ignition modules, coil pack, plug leads, loom, ECU, map sensor. Tuned to 15psi/233rwkw by Motec. Called a workshop to ask how much for a new one installed to get an idea, they said $1950 for the ECU, and another $2000 for fitting, so around $4k to get one on your car. New value installed $4000 Selling for $2200 or nearest offer. <<<<<<< Located in Brisbane, QLD.

rb30 bottome end. get it prepped, but it will sit up a bit higher (taller block on rb30). or just build the 25 to rev hard with new valve springs and a lightweight, built bottom end. dry sump? personally id do the rb30, you've got everything else to make a sweet RB30DE, just needs a bottom end! 7-7500rpm, decent compression, party time in a silvia.

be careful with TTR. personal experience, plus what ive seen another go through.

Chasing cheap R33 RB25DE or DET. Can buy either long motor or just head. Prefer full cheap non turbo long motor. Don't need manifolds/coils/injectors - just need mechanically complete head + bottom end, blown ok, as long as harmonic balancer is on it still. 0411870159 Paul. Bris. Will freight. Have $. Best to call, or wait few days for PM response.

if you just want something that will handle half alright, and you just need it to do what you want occasionally, the bilstien setup should be good. You can probably get a cheaper setup using some KYB's if you just have a little play now and then. Do a search in this forum for KYB for the exact setup someone here is using, cost them under 1k. if youre a bit more serious doing full spirited runs might want to go bushes/swaybar/strut brace. coilovers can be cheap but might be bit harsh, be worth having a ride in a car fitted with 'X' coilover before buying. agree with ronin on the grammar. well your setup will be alright for the street and a bit of track, but not insane for the street and really good for the track as you say. I would just keep what you've got and kill it then upgrade personally. If I was going to go 'insane' for the street and 'really good' for the track... DBA 5000 rotors (as big as you can fit under the wheel really) front, slotted/vented DBA (maybe 4000 series) on the rear. Brembo 4 pots or some sort of 6 pot up front, 2 pots on the back. All braided lines/master cyl stopper of course Bias adjuster Ferodo DS2500 or better front pads, at least RB74's on the back.

led conversion might be cool, without the 'ice'. would be a custom job though ive never heard of anyone making r31 ice bling taillights. projector headlights, white out the black striping (or remove) and put a front lip on it with decent front bar. that way itll look better. ice taillights are the automotive worlds way of showing off your bad taste.
-
it try going out and doing some big repeated stomps. 100kmh +. worked for my rb74's. They were shocking untill i got stuck into them a bit, really hot, got on them really hard, and they were fine after that.

a typical surge tank setup would be your standard fuel pump pumping fuel into a mini tank in the boot, and then a higher flowing aftermarket fuel pump sending the fuel to the fuel rail/injectors. This way theres always fuel available in that little tank, the stock pump just keeps it topped up, and the big pump gives you enough flow to safely make that power. youll be able to find heaps of pics if you do a google search, or look in "time for na power, the wait is over" thread in the NA performance section on this site.

so it does. you might expect a bit more, but it sounds about right to me. i just got 233rwkw from a t3/4, motec, 15psi, bigger fuel system (everything), full 3" exhaust, fmic. as long as your fuel system is up to it, sounds like a pretty sweet package. you might want to do a surge tank setup.
